It's not accurate. The genocide of native peoples was much less thorough south of the current border with Mexico. Most of the people now tagged as illegals are actually their descendants. Many places in Mexico still speak their indigenous languages more than Spanish.

The native american nations acomplished A LOT of things, but also fought each others and devastated each others, just like the europeans, just like any other human civilization. The europeans didn't live away from them, they colonized directly in their lands.
