Showbiz Midwest The Black sleeve is protecting the body shell. I don’t have the black sleeve fully attached yet. I think once the black sleeve is fully secured it will be ok.
Seth Horst Yeah I think the year stamped was 1982. I’ve seen others where the fiberglass body shell didn’t use a white gel coat and was just pure brown/orange fiberglass color which I think means they are older than mine.
A Nerd So I don’t know for sure, but do have a little experience in using fiberglass. If I were to make them, you would create the shape of the body out of something like cardboard and take pieces of fiberglass mat and lay them over the cardboard to create the shape you want. As you lay each piece of fiberglass mat you brush on resin with a harder catalyst . The resin will harden and then you will have a very rough form. From there you would start sanding to smooth out the desired shape. It’s a lot of work. Finally when you are done with hours of sanding you can apply a Gel coat which is a protection layer over the raw fiberglass. All in all it’s a lot of work.
Mechai the racer 25 I was told that is the correct position and it looks that way due to not having the cosmetic guitar installed. Once the guitar is installed on the metal it will level out. 👍
@@LotusStark It's normal for the guitar to be slightly raised, look at Aaron's Billy Bob for an example, and the ones seen in some of the old Showbiz Pizza footages.
