What solidified for me that the collectors edition was the most ideal way to buy the series is that all trailers promoting other anime are removed. Great for binging
I hadn’t noticed that when I was testing my discs but now that I think about it you’re right, they all went right into the menu. After the compulsory legal notice of course. lol
I’ve noticed a lot of Blu-rays recently have been doing that. But can’t remember if the Other standard sets have commercials. But yeah I agree. Trailers suck 😂
If you want to keep the red cardboard band around it don’t push the steelbooks all the way back in. Keep them out just about even with the front edge of the box, especially volumes one and ten, and you’ll find the sweet spot where friction holds the cardboard up with pushing on it too hard.
Did any of your disc have a scratch on them? Ive been reading alot of reports of scratched disc on this set from factory can only be seen under a lamp at certain angles hmm
@@EliteCollector yeah let me kno im curious as well now, when you check them make sure you are shining a light on the disc it self and take ur time looking at it at varies angles let me know if u got any disc with markings that dont wipe off as well, they still work they come from the factory this way on alot of discs kinda sux yea
I made up a “DragonBall Super: the Complete Series” of my Own. For Season 1 parts 1-5 Disc’s 1-10 put those in a 10-Disc Blu-ray Case. Do the same on parts 6-10 put those in a 2nd 10-Disc Blu-ray Case. There that’s saved up Space on shelves.
I'm almost done watching my steelbooks and as someone who hasn't watched the show I'd say having the art as is on the steelbooks definitely doesn't give away what's happening as much as the regular release in my opinion
@@EliteCollector I wouldn't say I blind bought this lol I have seen the first season but never past that and figured this was the cheapest way to obtain the show but yea in my collection this sticks out as the nicest set I own
Mine did. Volume eight had lots of scratches, a couple down to bare metal. Even my replacement set has a small scratch that I mistook for a reflection at first, but again it’s on volume eight. Doesn’t bother me enough to exchange again, but obviously they’re having some kind of manufacture/assembly issues.
Just recently, Walmart did a release of the individual DBS sets that have 2 parts in each boxed set. If there ever comes a time when I get around to owning Dragon Ball Super physically, I'll settle for the Walmart 2-packs, instead of forking over the $135+ for the steelbooks. The biggest disappointment in all of this is they haven't released the original DB and GT on Blu-Ray.
Yeah I have honestly been waiting for the OG dragon all to be released on blu-ray. Idk why it’s taking so long. But yeah I saw the Walmart releases. I’d say those are good enough if you just want to own the series 👍
They keep on releasing Dragon Ball Z on DVD and Blu-Ray sets many times before. And they haven't touched any of the original Dragon Ball and GT since the late 2000s and early 2010s.
I'm not a steelbook collector, but I bought this set because it was the most economical way to get the series. If you can buy it for $135 that is just over $13 a volume; Wal-Mart's recent 2 volume packs are $36 each ($18 a volume, still a great price over trying to buy the volumes individually just not quite as good as the steelbook set can be)
@@EliteCollector Not just the collector sets, but the home video releases in general. Maybe one day we’ll get a 4K collection that has no issues, at this point unlikely, but it would be awesome.
@@EliteCollector No - but I've seen it advertised often. I'm keeping up with the Super Manga. I'm sure it will eventually get its own type of boxset in the future
@@christron5368Which did you end up choosing? Were you satisfied with them? I am thinking about splurging on a unopened steelbook set which are impossible to find for retail now but found one for a reasonable price.
Thank you for confirming that its a bigger issue with best buy and damaged steelbooks, a couple months ago I bought uncharted 4k steelbook. It came with nathan drakes ring necklace and the uncharted movie steel book. I opened it and took off the card on the back and it had a dent on it the back of it, I went to return it at best buy and they told me because it was opened already they couldnt return it, when I told them their would be no way to tell it was damage unless I opened it. So I got a damaged steelbook of uncharted and means I will never order on best buys website and have it shipped to me anymore. I'll pick it up for now on, love using rightstufanime. I do notice their cheaper than most other retail stores and had no problem, only thing I wished they had was a subscription like prime that offers fast shipping for free because those 2 day shippimg is so expensive.
