Gigguk has made videos about anime since the very start of youtube, he's pretty much the only youtuber I know from that era who is talking about anime and still is doing it consistently until today. So no, he's not exactly "not aware". The point is that in the good ol' days, degeneracy that reach this level is only reserved for some very obscure OVA series (only sold in CDs) or straight up porn. Neither are being broadcasted in public or treated as the usual seasonal anime series. It's not "things are suddenly becoming degenerate", it's "the line between 'normal' series and H has been blurred so heavily that there's almost no line anymore"
