As a german I just want to point out that thus song is not only about the Nazi regime, but more a song about the whole history of germany and the separations the people in it went through. It’s essentially a song about dealing with the past.

Parts of Poland and Finland were taken by SU after wars(which was why nobody wanted to fight with Soviet Union)…in less than 2 years. Can't imagine why Stalin talked about war against Germany in front of military graduates(officers) of May 1941 while at the same time believing that Germany would not invade(we will wage war against Germany who is our ally…not suspicious at all LOL)… Just like Soviet war plans they had in Military District Headquarters in the West. Germany preemptively attacked and Soviet military head honchos had to improvise. Soviets had plans, but not defensive ones. So what kind plans are left if they weren't defensive? Why, attack plans. If Germany was able to focus fully on USSR, no amount of Lend Lease would helped. So USSR, who started with far more soldiers, tanks, warplanes, oil, etc. than Germany was barely able to pull combined victory, against far smaller country and with much bigger losses.

@@AKUJIVALDOчел... Боже... СССР лэнд лиз не использовали (техника была не провереной). Фашисты (страны ОСИ) хотели чтобы СССР стал их союзниками. Насчёт "окупации" всем насрать что что СССР- Соединенные советско социалогичиские республики или сша но с комунизмом, а америка там тоже окупировала но не европу вашу любимую, а африку вместе с половиной европой. СССР понимал что фашизм плохо (или из-за других причин я не знаю) и знал что фашисты стягивали к границам СССР войска... P. S. Мне лень писать посмотри ролик gamleda (вроде правильно) про 2 мировую войну с частью про СССР и фашистов

Later that went on to become Prussia, then the German Federation, and lastly the German Empire by 1871. You can find images of recreations of maps from the late 1600s and early 1700s, and looking at the variety of different states and principalities, it can be very fascinating!
