I finally got to attend AnimeNYC for the first time in three years, and I did my first cosplay, so I wanted to get the day on film for memories’ sake. The thing is, I’m a “in the moment” type of person, and there was a lot going on, that tbh half of the time I recorded during the con I wasn’t even looking at my phone lol. Sooo I didn’t realize how fast I was moving the camera sometimes, and I only spotted other issues with the footage while editing. Sorry about that! I hope you still enjoyed the video. This is mainly an art channel, but I want to upload more vlogs occasionally, they’re fun to make, tho editing this one was time-consuming af.
Cosplaying was super fun! I wanted to cosplay as Mayuri mainly because I didn’t want to wear a wig and we both have short black hair with bangs, so she was a good candidate for a curly cosplay. Her design is simple and comfortable yet iconic and distinguishable. She’s a cosplayer who attended an anime con during the series, so it’s fitting. And she’s my Steins;Gate fave. I’m glad her makeup is also simple because I don’t know how to do makeup and at this point I’m too afraid to ask lmao. I’ve only started wearing eyeliner this year. So please go easy on me lol. If you’re at all curious, or want to roast the random stuff I found in my mother’s closet, here are the products I used…

Foundation: Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Powder Foundation
Eyeliner: Kokie Precise Longwear Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
Micellar water: Garnier Skin Active Micellar All-in-1 Waterproof Cleansing Water
Mascara: Mad Lash Black Mascara
Tinted lip balm: VDL Festival Lipstick Glow Balm
Also, I got my Mayuri costume from Miccostumes in size M. It came with the dress, the hat, and the shorts, and the quality was pretty good! The dress fit okay, the shorts fit perfectly, but I couldn’t shove the hat over my big-ass skull and puffball of hair to save my life so I had the hat and dress adjusted to fit me better.
I also got a pocket watch to really complete the cosplay, but I never ended up using it lmao. It’s still a cool pocket watch tho. Could you imagine if the watch had stopped while I was cosplaying as her and…you’ll know, if you’ve watched Steins;Gate. Now that would have truly completed the Mayuri experience, oof.
