(If I take it as plot.) That's hard, I personally think that characters is where a 'tale' can really shine. Out of the ones I've seen I would say Evangelion, but in that it's really hard to distinguish between plot and worldbuilding, and how good the former would be without the latter. If as a story it's easy for me: Yōjo Senki (It surprised even me how great it is, I personally rated it 9.7, and haven't heard any larger objective criticism against it, that would make it below 9.)
@@Franktamas I'd say the characters and worldbuilding can, at least in a sense, be included in the quality of the story because they can directly enhance or detract from the quality of the story depending on how interesting or well done they are. For example from something I've watched: One Piece's story, in it's most basic form, is just pirates go look for a treasure, but the worldbuilding and characters is what makes the story so interesting!

@@paperyoshi10 I think vampire knight is quite stupid anime, but I really like it’s aesthetic and soundtracks. Jibaku shoujo is very good. So I can say that I like both!
