It is. Men are put in an unfair position where they’re not supposed to talk about it, and even Mark doesn’t really know how to address the situation. This is one of the ways masculinity can be made toxic.
Well eventually he did but Nolan was like " Ohhh.......yea that's kinda of our culture sorry about that but hey we're all changing thanks to earth and she got a whole family now, shit is old" lol
@@gogetog1065 idk about that. She's much more capable than base Eve. In fact Mark is almost killed protecting Eve in a certain altercation that I want get in to due to spoilers. Tho if it were Anissa instead of Eve Mark would have just died so there's an argument as to who's more useful. Not too mention, oh idk Anissa fucking raped Mark so I think Eve is the better partner 100%
I like the subtle details that show how much stronger and more durable they are than their environment. Like when mark slammed her against the wall, the wall literally cratered but she didn’t react at all
From how she made it sound that’s how all viltrumites do things back home, she didn’t even see what she did as rape until she lived with a human and learned to love
@@julianadams3710 Like almost every other species/society: It might seem horrible and barbaric by our standards (humans), but to them? It's just a way of life. Not saying it's right mind you, but Anissa just saw it as something that needed to be done.
@@windghost2 yes? My memory is a bit hazy but if you really want a clear answer read the comic. It’s during the final battle with Thragg I think. Basically, as stated above, she settled down with a human and realized what she did to Mark and tried apologize to him a LOT. Mark told Eve what happened, she flipped on her, then Eve told Omni Dad what happened, he flipped on her, but big battle coming, bla bla bla, we ALL got shit to do so they put aside and go do said shit.
I have a feeling that when she gets adapted into the show, she’s either going to sound like an older Azula from Avatar or be given this very deep and domineering Russian accent.
I don’t like that this is a “I’d take marks place” only because she’s attractive. This is legit rape. It’s a serious topic that the comic touched on because we don’t hear of men being raped by women. If the roles were reversed there wouldn’t be any jokes…
@@bazarovmedic4807 But that doesn't make rape against them, which by definition isn't wanted, any less serious. There are plenty of women out there with very high sex drives, but that doesn't ever cheapen their consent nor justify treating it as a given until proven otherwise.
@@bazarovmedic4807 what I mean really. Both genders have same attraction towards each other naturally so by your logic it's fine by both sides. Also we gave forced mating a name because of higher intelligence, it literally happens every day in nature .
@@loserinasuit7880 It really wouldn’t have, it’s not immature to call out someone’s bullshit. Calling someone’s bullshit out would probably strengthen their perspective before they talk next time
With everything he's been through in his life in the comics, Mark just needs a hug and discovering he has so many people who love him and feel inspired by his indomitable spirit.
I am surprised he did not tell his mother before leaving Earth( he could have told his mom a female viltrumite raped me and wants to do it multiple times that is the real reason I want to leave Earth with EVE AND TERRA.)
If my poor boy Mark had been emotionally fine that damn day I'm sure all the Viltrumites would have had to go on a search mission to find the parts of anissa all over the globe
Why tf are people glorifying what happened to Mark? Saying that "well she's attractive" or "he got lucky. Wish i could clap some cheeks." It's freaking disgusting! She didn't have sex with Mark, she RAPED him. Which CAN happen to men by women. It's downgrading comments like that which make male rape victims, when their attacker was a female, less likely to open up about what happened. They get met with such disgusting words like that. Women CAN rape men and may get away with it more often due to no one believing the man. Makes me sick honestly.
Mark got lucky lol, not so often some random hottie comes to you for sex, Mark even wanted that to happen at some point so he didn't really fight back. She had sex with him, I know new generation of men are weak children of internet but still, average women can't overpower average male into submission without him wanted that to happen, it's disgusting when adult guys gets themselves "raped" by female and cry about that later, shame on them.
What makes Amber so hated is that we all know an Amber in our lives, we can relate. We don't have a superpowered alien who beat us to an inch of death or raped us. Same reason why Dolores Umbridge was more hated than Voldermort among the HP fandom.
@@LucasOhaiFilgueiras honestly I think women would only ever 'joke' about it as a sarcastic response to the comments guys make to female rape victims sometimes. Things like 'what was he wearing though'. It really sucks but tbh it's most likely gonna be men who say shit like 'I bet he enjoyed it, it was so hot, I wish I was him, he's weak, women can't rape men'
@@LucasOhaiFilgueiras Its not women who jokes about guys being raped, it's always other Men who jokes about this saying that he liked because every Men would like a " hottie " coming after him and that no Men is raped because they all like It otherwise no woman can ever dominate a Man without him letting.
If your opinion is that you'd like to be Mark in this situation, I'd like you to imagine this: A girl you're not interested in at all forces herself on you. You get angry and push her away but she's stronger than she looks. She forces you down in a way that hurts you and begins touching you however she wants, despite how loudly you protest and how violently you try to thrash. You don't want this, but she continues, with a sick grin on her face. She enjoys seeing you uncomfortable, watching you try to cling to your dominant personality while she has her fun with you, gleefully waiting for the moment when you break down and start crying because nothing you can do will stop this, no one will come to save you, and you will likely be ridiculed by anyone you tell this to, forcing you to endure it for a long as she wants. And then some time later, when your sense of normalcy and comfort returns, she comes back to do it to you again. Does this still sound arousing to you?
Mark could have put up a fight and maybe even beaten her off but he was emotionally spent and completely exhausted when she caught him that day. That fucked with his mind, the fact that he didn’t fight her more which is what a lot of assault survivors worry about. Even now he he’s i states to fight her because she took all control from him, made him feel like a “thing” more than a person, just a tool for her to get what she wanted. That’s why he hesitates when she says she enjoys it. From a third person perspective, you’d think “oh really? what if i just started beating the fuck out of you right now, no strings attached and nothing held back” but that’s not how you’d feel if you were in his place. Its awful and so fucking disturbing. Especially when she grabs him down there and tells him she doesn’t think he doesn’t want it, only because he had an erection. She’s evil. I think it was a perfect way to show us just how demented Viltrumites were. Their conquests weren’t just about murdering and slaughtering millions, they probably used sexual assault as a weapon of war too, like Nolan says later on when he finds out.
@@Greg12839 That's flat out wrong. When Mark was letting out all of his emotions on Eve, he said that he could have fought back harder, but he didn't. He partially believed that a part of him wanted it, and let it happen. Which is why he feels so guilty of it whenever he is around Eve and she tries getting intimate with him.
I feel bad for her kid for having such a shit mom and ruining his life by proxy. The one page that gets is so gut wrenchingly horrible and mark is basically a saint.
@ben allen I'm talking about the scene at the end of the comic where the child of this rape and Mark come to blows because the son is completely mind fucked after discovering he is a rape baby. This is after the son had already seemingly become the second invincible. It's a very emotially charged scene despite taking up less then a page. You just seem upset that people have feelings? It's fine, you'll get over it when you're older.
@ben allen I get you are just trolling and shit dude but it's scary to think about. That loss of bodily autonomy. Pulling away from a lover because their touch reminds you of your attackers. The seeming anger at people who ask about what is bothering them. I don't even care about your opinion really, it's just that your responses give me more opportunities to go off about how well this comic portrayed trauma.
Anissa is extremely lucky that Mark isn’t a wrathful person or someone who lacks empathy and was merciful, gentle or compassionate enough to decide not to tell Nolan while she was under his mercy. he would’ve have ripped off every part of her body like paper
@@Sly9192 I mean violence is nothing, bunch of ketchup and gummy worms, but rape?...I dunno, most likely they will take it out but it'll be largely hinted at throughout the season, also it won't happen till like the 3rd or fourth season so there's that.
There's a whole other layer of the population wanting the scene to be taken out and i honestly think they should make two versions of that episode, one with and one without. Sexual abuse/trauma is honestly terrifying and PTSD can often develop as a result. Just food for thought.
Same I think they will either gloss over it and say that it happened or they might do it by showing scenes of the rape as it flickers on and off. Meaning one second you see what's happening, the next you see a black screen and they just keep doing that until we see anissa fly away and mark looking absolutely defeated lol. I don't see the writers showing the sex so you guys can drop that idea lol
@@wendellc7526 They literally showed civilians being massacred in this show left and right, you think they’re going to shy away from a little rape?😆 I find your lack of faith *disturbing*. [force chokes you with two fingers]
@@Aden_III Murder isnt really seen as being as serious as rape when it comes to media. Every day you see someone in an animation, tv, youtube, videogame, etc. getting killed. However, rape is a much rarer topic that can also be much closer to home than murder and is generally seen as more "vile". It goes without saying that rape victims are more likely to watch the show than murder victims.
Like if Mark was the assaulter? That would be incredibly stupid and the Invincible comic would drop in popularity so fast. There would be no coming back from it.
It " Should" be equally disgusting. But let's be honest with ourselves about society. If the roles were reversed here they'd have sjws trying to cancel the comic and make sure it didn't get shown on the TV series
@@agentchaos9332 Bro male on female rape has occurred in like literally every comic franchise ever, what the fuck are you talking about lmao Where are these mythical cancel culture SJWs that you guys talk about so much, or are you just punching air
It’s confirmed that they are ignoring that plot line. Anissa will appear but her storyline will be changed. Our generation is too soft. And they won’t make x rated films. Even r rating limits their profits because of age restriction so X rated ain’t not happenin
@@SantosuBR yes even the boys comic was special because of how Gorey and violent it is. But they cut out 90% of it for the show because it will enrage people. Stuff like gang graping starlight and racial killings. (Ik stormfront was in the boys but it’s a far censored version of the comic one and she felt like a parody) It makes the comics “special” but bringing it to live action would be hard. Not only that, it won’t even be R rated, it will be X rated. Meaning it won’t even air on prime. And even more importantly, people will be too disturbed and cause controversy. Our gen is too soft now.
@@SantosuBR even some of the fights in season 1 was very diluted compared to the comics. So most likely the up coming fights won’t have the level of blood of comics, so a grape scene def won’t happen and it’s already confirmed that it won’t.
If Anissa has 1000 haters, I’m one of them. If she has 1 hater, it’s me. If she has no haters, I’m dead. I. Hate. That. Woman. For what she did to Mark.
@@moistvibes5697 I can’t sympathize with him. Mark by that point had killed Conquest, and hung with the best of them. But here comes Anissa, and because he’s not taking it seriously he loses to her. Then, she has her way with him. He didn’t do all in his power to stop that which he claimed he didn’t want
That’s the only thing I hope they change about this part when they animate this-I hope they have Mark eventually speak up and tell his parents about what happened and they give us the satisfaction of seeing Nolan fuck her up-but not too gruesome cause Mark has a heart of gold and I don’t want him to suffer too badly
@@nataliawashington872 Think about the bigger picture of you change it up, than Mark's son will not happen and he won't be the protector of Earth. When they do that scene in the show theres gonna be 3 groups of people arguing online. The guys saying he's lucky because shes attractive, the people that are gonna get mad at those guys and use it as an excuse as to why male secksual assault isnt taken seriously and lastly the people that are fake outraged about it and want to turn it into a lecturing moment
You know there is a guy who was defending the new amber and told people off about joking about mark's mom being a Pet but in that same video he said that mark could have beaten anisa and he wanted to happened, I wonder what would have been his reaction if genders were reversed
You can find someone attractive and still hate them, and that's what people seem to forget the whole thing has to do with instinct vs reason and what's right, you can find chick hot and that's "instinctive" but if she either has a shitty personality or zero personality "reason" dictates you'll back off cuz she bad news and that's what Mark did it was a physical desire and his body reacted in kind he just fought that desire with his own will and reason meaning he was faced with temptation and he rejected it. The whole concept of rape is to be taken advantage of without consent but people are saying "oh deep down he wanted it" and I agree but☝️that doesn't mean it was decided, mark was taken advantage of not by female perspective but a Male one, Anissa took advantage of his desire when it wasn't her choice to make, and anyone who doesn't understand that is a toxic shithead who needs to get their heads out the crapper
The same thing, actually. It's a pretty common talking point for when _people_, both genders, anyone who was ever sexually abused, to be accused of wanting to be raped or abused. You'd be shocked how often this is said to people and it's really super fucked.
@@wacky3486 yeah is the same, women sometimes have orgasm when they are raped and nobody is saying they wanted it, in fact unlike mark they don't fight it, so do they deep down wanted it? Sounds a little bit on the lines of, it's ok if it happens to men
@@arieloliver3219 this is actually absurd to me considering how everything I've said is really common to the point of studies being done on sexual abuse/assault to disprove the "well they would've fought back if they didn't want it" myth. It was a massive problem that's been talked about to death. On a more anecdotal level, I've had people say this to me (I'm male), and I've heard people say this to my friends at the time. Other then that, I'm not sure what point you're making.
@@anatoldenevers237 Definitely my favorite of her roles. Also, good picks for fav villains (Although Walt and Zuko are more misguided heroes/protagonists) great characters though.
I hate how this whole thing is handled. Mark saying nothing to anyone. And when He says It, it's too late. Amiss doesn't pay for what she did. It made me quite disgusted.
It must’ve been a traumatizing day, but even more traumatic choosing between carrying that mental/emotional scar and taking it to the grave, or opening up about it to his dad and risking Anissa’s life. Sure, rape is terrible and nobody should go through it but it should never be met with death.
I really don’t want what I’m about to say downplay the storyline or the importance of this, but knowing viltrum, what anissa did was probably normal in their society. That doesn’t make it any less fucked up-
Wasn't really a threat. She said she missed him, he snapped and threatened to beat her face in and she was basically like "YASSS, HARDER, DADDY! 😊🥰🤤" Only when Nolan got involved did she kinda get like 😮.
I don’t understand why some people tryna downplay the rape shit against mark like he didn’t enjoy it and people in these comment sections trying to justify it is disgusting
Sharing trauma helps but it's not always necessary. Everyone deals with horrible events in their own way. On their own time, you can't force people to open up. Especially when the don't want to. It may help them it may not. People bury their own experiences for a reason, so they don't have to relive them.
As someone whos felt out of control of their whole life it pisses me off beyond words that mark didnt just push the big red button and have his dad skin this bitch. I dont care how good lookin she may be. If that was me and no wasnt an option itd be my mission in life to make problems for her. Then again theres poor markie...😢
People can say all they want about switching places with him the fact is you ain't mark. He didn't want it even if you did. And it's pretty obvious a part of him is still scared and probably humiliated about the whole situation.
Even when she raped him. He could have killed and she knew. She took advantage of the fact that he saw her as a friend. Think of an annoying female friend forcing herself on you and think of a random guy that tries to do the same to you. The random guy will probably get your thumbs in his eye sockets while your friend might only get slapped.
@@jr5343 Finally, someone who has sense. He was gone for months and when he came back his girlfriend told him she wants him to stay away from her and the child as his presence constantly brings danger. God, I can only imagine what would Nolan have done if he knew what she did to his son. So many times he kept asking what she did, and they kept telling him that it was nothing.
Its your insistence that it’s only other men than disgusts me. If we are making habits of using wide sweeping blanket statements, then where is the accountability for women as well?
@@dust195 Like your pov on this bc 100% right. Even if it IS a known fact. She a freak! She was down for a second round. She one of those “give it up or ima take it” making the first move.... I don’t condone it, but I like it. She probably love getting dominated.
Why people kept bringing that up like he didn't nearly eliminate his own son. He doesn't care, Anissa did far less damage & brutality than his own father. Besides she was the one that has to carry & raise the child not Mark.
No she threatened to take advantage of him without his consent nor regard for how he feels and treat him as less than a person and cause more emotional and mental harm that was what she threatened him with...more pain
Everybody who says they would take mark's place here, just think. Forget all the ethical shit for a moment, because as important as it would be irl, just think about the implications of a viltrumite forcing themselves on a human. Every single bone in your body would be completely shattered.
