I don't think Rachelle really cares too much about record sales, or selling out arenas, she's a true to heart singer, she said a while back, too many people get into your business, this and that. And she's down to earth. Sometimes artists just rather make music, sing at a nice place, chill out and go home. LOL>
I was in the audience this night... Rachelle sang for 2-1/2 hours (FREE admission) and Anita "Burner" was asked to come up near the end. It was a breath-taking experience and it did something to your soul if U were present! The recording cannot do the LIVE experience justice... IJS!
jnorwood6027 I also was at this free concert in Detroit (Hart Plaza). Rochelle Ferrell was very humbling, to invite Anita Baker on stage to perform with her. A great performance by both
2 VOCAL BEAST. I JUST PEED IN MY PANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I HAVE GOOSE BUMPS ALL DOWN MY LEG.It should be against the law for these two to be on the same stage!!!!!!! THIS IS REAL SINGING YOUNG PEOPLE. I AM 38, AND THIS WHAT IS REAL TALENT. NOT NO SKIMPY OUTFIT, AND WIND FAN!!!
Azeryahu Y'all need to give us a class on all those notes she hits like literally from one end of the scale to another. I dont know what its called but whew! I have never seen anything like it and Anita I knew she could sing but seems like in the videos I see od these two together Anita goes to a whole different level!
@@azeryahu9914 No she's definitely not a lyric soprano. Her vocal range alone extends beyond that vocal classification. Her range extends to the depths of any baritone to the heights of Minnie Riperton, Mariah Carey, Shanice and Chantay Moore, in whom, Chantay is the only singer who has the match vocal range of Mariah Carey's. Her lower register extends to the baritone range with power and control. Have you seen her performance at the Apollo Theatre called, "Showtime At The Apollo"? If she's anything in vocal classification at all, she a Soprano Assoluta.
And you know what else? They show GREAT Showmanship... Each Artist is giving the other props for their talents and abilities, and on top of that, NO COMPETITION!! LOVE IT!!
Basically she started by singing that she wants Rachelle to play for her. Rachelle responded that the Key of C is not HER key; at which point Anita sang about "changing the key"... There you go.... lol
Her voice isn't naturally nearly this dark. She darkens it intentionally. Her real timbre comes through as she goes higher as she doesn't darken it anymore. Natural dark soprano. At lowest a high mezzo. But most likely soprano.
I've watched this a zillion times like you +JENNY SIMON FINE ART and I still cant get enough of the improvisation from these 2 GENIUSES "changing the keys" on each other on every go round with TOTAL respect for each other while having fun. I mean like how do you come up with melodies and instant words/lyrics and make the music right? Dangggggg !!!
The very 1st time I heard Rachelle Farrell, I thought she sound like Anita Baker. Shortly after i heard nothing has ever felt like this, it was then i knew she was on a different level.
man, I so totally agree with you...I love Anita Baker in her sweater..just like a real person who is right there..what a pleasure. no lipsyncing or is she lipsyncing.and its great to see them just enjoying each other as musicians and friends.
ITS SAD THAT RAP AND RECORD SALES JUST LET TALENT LIKE THIS DIE AS A DEMAND . RACHELLE DESERVES MILLIONS FOR HER GIFT ITS SAD WHAT WE LET THEM CONFORM I TASTE IN MUSIC TOO
NOW THIS IS THE TYPE OF SINGING I'M ACCUSTOMED TO ... *passes all the way out .... This type of singing cause you to make the "ugly face" b/c it's just that phenomenal ....
Ok now young people...these are real vocalist...you understand? REAL musicians...aint no auto-tuning going on here. Did you see how fast the band changed keys instantly...NO COMPUTER DID THIS! They did! Notice how these women are just walking around singing...fully clothed as well vs half naked shaking and dancing. AINT NO GIMMICKS..their voice is the gimmick! Mad respect to Rachelle and Anita two of the baddest R&B/Soul vocalist of all time.
I happened to be at this actually festival and all I can say is you could feel the spirituality in the place and we were outside. Rachelle can blow like no other. I saw her again this year when she came to the Motor City Sound Board. My husbands mouth stayed open the whole time because he was in awe of this great talent. She will be here in Sept. with Michael Franks and I plan on witnessing this again. If you ever need to feel good and get encompassed in the music Rachelle is the person to see
I'm 21 and have been listening to these 2 including others from their genre for years... It's pretty much all i listen to and I think its funny but sad all at the same time that we don't have artist in my generation that come anywhere near close to the talent that these people have. I thank God I have something to show to my kids when I have them. I'm a singer myself and appreciate singing songs like theirs. Good use of my God given talent instead of all that niki minaj crap smh lol
What is the song they are singing so freakin well dammit????!!!! I love this and can't stop listening to it!!! Thank you so so much for this amazing performance. love love love it. x
