Anita Baker Cancels Mother's Day Concert Minutes Before Showtime | TEA-G-I-F 

I just play her music at home. I would never waste my hard earned money on her concerts.

I don't care what anyone says, I think it's time for Anita to just hang it up and call it a career. Anita Baker has had her time and her day!!! For Anita to cancel her concert at the last minute was very disrespectful to her many fans who supported her for over 40 years!!!

It’s not only disrespectful to the fans, but to the venue, to her manager, backup singers, her band, her production crew, any investors, the label, stylish, makeup artist, hair dresser, choreographer, her driver, her assistant, the catering staff, the ushers, bodyguards, her publicist, the promoters, the city…need I go on?!?

THAT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME SHE HAS BACKED OUT

I drove 1 hour and twenty minutes to get to the venue plus the cost of tickets and $60 for parking. This was a gift to my wife for mother’s day. We were at the door when ushers started announcing that the concert was canceled…. I’m still pissed off

The fact that it’s been said that Anita wasn’t even in Georgia at the time says A LOT. They knew she wouldn’t be able or wanted to perform that night, and her team should’ve had more respect for her fans.

I saw her in Greensboro, NC. She half performed and people began to walk out. You better off listening to her in the comfort of your own house.

The LAST time I bought concert tickets was for Atlantic City comedy tour. It was a surprise birthday present. The official notification was the concert was “postponed indefinitely”. I was refused a refund because it wasn’t “cancelled”. I’ll keep my money in my pocket.

I feel people should stop buying her tickets and no body should show to her concert people paying money to see you perform and you treat people like that No One should ever show up for her you are not important than the people who come out to support you

I saw Anita Baker at Maryland live with Babyface and both put on fantastic performances. Anita actually stayed on stage past 11p. Over 2 1/2 hours..

I really loved her in the 80's, however she's a DIVA that's not very nice and started a beef with Babyface who is such a wonderful respectful person and the ultimate talented artist..... Anita Baker I lost respect for. In 1987 I went to the Kool Jazz Festival in Cincinnati Ohio, she was beefing with Luther Vandross. I was there at the show. Sad...

I won tickets off the radio, but I gave them away! All week I just wasn’t feeling this concert! But I do feel bad because the person I gave them to, it was her birthday! They paid a babysitter, dinner, parking and most of all their time! I saw Anita in Los Angeles back in the 80’s. She opened for Luther and she got down! I’m good!

Ok yall I’m not in no way dismissing her actions and I have compassion to those who wanted to see. However there’s a greater conversation that needs to be had. For example why are “our” legends and icons even having to still tour and do shows to survive?! Hell it’s no different than Ms. Betty at your local Walmart that you know shoulda been retired but can’t. You don’t see other legends having to tour at their golden age risking their health like Madonna, Cher, Dolly Parton etc. I’m just saying.

We flew in from Cleveland, Ohio and paid for hotel, rental car and parking! If we got a 24 hour notice, I would've been able to get my hotel and car refund. Safe to say I will not be doing that again, never flying out for a concert!

This is unacceptable. We all have heard, The show must Go on, regardless of what happened. But for her to cancel her shows at the last minute is unacceptable! Someone should make this right with the people especially her loyal fans. She should at least give her fans an explanation and a big apology for her reasoning not to show up and cancel shows at the last minute. I saw Anita one time when she, Brownstone and Frankie Beverly and Maze were on the ticket many moons ago. It was a dynamic show and Frankie Beverly's plane was delayed and caused the concert to run over into the wee hours, but Anita took over the show and kept us going. I just can't believe she is doing this to audience members now. It's really sad. I'm with Claudia, if you don't want to do this anymore, then please exit stage left! 🙄🙄

Not the first last minute, no show. She did the same in Fort Lauderdale. Another female artist was flown in while we waited. Let me tell you, the replacement was phenomenal . As much as I hate to say it considering I produce concerts for a living.....if Madonna was sued for running late to get on stage by 2 hours then Anita should be sued IF it was deliberate...now if was a health issue, well then issue a public statement....don't make the fans and public feel disrespected and belittled......I hope she makes this right because the fans deserve to be treated better

She’s been doing this since the 1980’s, went to see her ( the opener) for Luther Van Dross. People were offered their money back, because of no show, but shoot, Luther was there and ready to perform. He put on a special show just for us. Never bought another ticket to see her. Love her music but I will only listen on vinyl, cd or radio…..
