i think it means something powerful that as children we listened to grown music and now we got kids makin music for kids and we can't relate. Anita Baker was makin music for my momma and i loved my momma so i loved her music and now i have this old soul and i love it so anything outside of class and style of real music us folks begin to rebel against. i know yall f0eel me you aint gotta say i'm just reppin what everyone thinkin out there today. why am i rhymin all the time lol :) i'm out.
Always been a big Anita fan that ain't never gonna changed but for me it's not the fact that it's chopped but I do like the change of the melody. Kingpen Slim made me look for the song like this.
Loved the way you lightly chopped this up, cuz I get kinda heavy handed when it comes to chopping a song up. That bit of chopping you did in the second verse, I tend to want to do that the whole song. Still, you did a very good job with this song!

@mr montrel Man, I'm well aware this isn't vaporwave. If you're referring to my original comment, I was merely suggesting how much this sounds similar to vaporwave, even though its a "slowed n chopped" version, which, fine, is a different style of remixing than the vaporwave aesthetic. First tear vaporwave (from 2011-2013) relies heavily on 80's R&B samples , and when I was toying with the idea of doing some vapor tracks of my own, I thought immediately of Anita Baker. Before I listened to anything vaporwave I'm first and foremost an R&B fan. Anita Baker, who's been sampled by MF Doom, Drake, and countless others is one of those obscure late 80's R&B artists who deserves more attention. So when I went to see if there was anyone who did a vapor track of "Caught up in the Rapture" I found this instead. It isn't vapor, but the process of slowing down and adding a subtle beat is a vaporwave process. So, again, I was merely making a comparison, and if anything acknowledging my adoration for both vaporwave and Anita Baker. Is that enough history for you buddy?
