For a channel that has only 4k subs, u have better production than those who have 100k+. And i watch allot of youtube several hours a day to be saying that
Totally agree. In addition you give much more information and numbers. Unlike some other youtubers (uhum Tee) that just drop 5 videos on the same product basically without mentioning anything 😂 You got yourself a new subscriber 🙌🏻
I’ve been using the black 633 for a few weeks and I love it. For a 10,000 mAh battery pack it’s perfect size that fits in my pocket, cup holder or front pocket of my lil Hershel backpack. The stand is great for when I’m watching a video. For people wondering if it’s too thick while using, I hold onto the battery pack while attached to my phone and it’s a lot comfier and I have better grip. The stand is pretty stable and feels quality. The usb A port is great to trickle charge my Apple Watch automatically too
How warm do you think the iPhone gets? I’m considering using one for a concert. But I wouldn’t want my phone to overheat when filming. Would a regular power bank with a cable be smarter?
@@xjohnjohnjohnx it does get a little warm when wireless charging a low battery phone. you can still use this battery pack like a regular one and plug a wire in it. up to you if the wireless is worth the extra money
I am thinking of getting this for my IPhone 13, but I have few questions in mind - 1. Will this fit my IPhone 13? 2. Will wireless charging harm the battery?
UPDATE: Anker now have a few variations of the 622 in different form factors: One with the USB-C port on the side so you can use the port and stand at the same time, another without the folding stand for a slimmer design, and one with a PopSocket on the back instead. I've added links to these in the description! ✌🏻
Great video. I watched because I wanted to understand how the MagGo 622 works for my parents. I was going to subscribe t your channel but you seem to focus mostly just Apple related stuff.
Thanks Ross! I focus on Apple stuff only because it’s what I have - I’m hoping that as the channel grows I’ll be able to look at more competing brands. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Hi! For the discolouration on the white 622, you can try to use Miscellar Water (the makeup remover most girls now use) to rub in, sit for 10 seconds and then clean off. It worked sooooo well for my ipad cover, so hopefully it will work for you too!
This is one of the best reviews Ive seen! I REALLY really appreciate you bringing up how the 622, with its USB C port on the bottom, could not be used to charge passthrough to a phone with the stand. This was the absolute biggest dealbreaker for me, but no reviews (whether professional or amazon customers) ever brought it up. As someone who would use these more as a semi permanent desk chargers propped up, I could not do that. I do feel you missed one substantial point. (Though to be fair though this is more anecdotal from amazon customers). Something that was very common with the 622 was that it would get dangerously hot. Customers would say it would be uncomfortable to the touch! It appears reviews of the 633 are saying it now is much more manageably warm, not hot.
Thanks Robert! Anker have actually recently made some variations of the 622 with the USB-C port on the side (woo!), one with more of a pop socket style grip, and one without the kickstand. I added links to them in the description! Also I’ve seen some comments saying the power button on the newer variations does now allow you to stop wireless charging with it attached! I’ve seen the comments about the 622 getting very hot! In my use that’s just never happened for me though. It gets hot but not uncomfortably so. It could maybe be because of environmental temperatures, I’m in the UK where generally it’s pretty mild, but in warmer countries I could see it being a problem. Only thing I’ve experienced (with all the packs in this video) is screen dimming if the phone does get too warm when charging, but the phone does that anyway under heavy use like using the camera a lot! Thanks for watching Robert! ✌🏻
Your video helped me make a decision, for Father’s Day I know I’m getting a MagSafe case for my 12 pro max, so I’ve been torn between 622 and 633 and I’ve decided on the 633 thank you!
Just upgraded from the XS to a 13 Mini, so bought the 622 for when I'm out and about, and to trigger standby mode when I'm home. I'd originally got a battery bank more like Apple's own, but returned it in favour of this much more useful one. Thanks for the content.
Great comprehensive video! I have a 13 mini which has decent battery life, but I like the idea of having more power on-hand and charging my iPhone indirectly with USB-C. Going with the 622 or 633!
Thank you so much. Outstanding review. I just ordered the 633. I'm a charging nut, so I need the extra power, and happy to deal with the extra weight. Subscribed!!!!!
I just received my 622 (blue) yesterday and have no trouble turning it off while still attached- as you said, I just keep the button pressed till it turns off (about 3-4 seconds. It works well! Thanks for the video.
No, 5000 mah blue 622 - it turned on automatically when i attached it to my iPhone it charged a little then i pressed the button and kept my finger on it till it turned off it stayed off. Once you have done that you need to turn it on again before it will work (even after detaching the phone and reattaching. In other words it stays off until you turn it back on again. It was in the instructions and it works fine. 633 has the lights and usbc on the side and the flip stand - this is 622 with the foldable stand and lights and usbc on the bottom
@@MirkZwart no, the 622, with the foldable stand and the lights and USB C on the bottom, the 633 has those on the side. Once you turn it off you need to turn it back on manually too (even after detaching the phone and reattaching it). In the instructions it says to stop it from charging press and hold the power button until the lights go off. Mine worked fine.
The one feature that lead me to buy the apple MagSafe battery is the one you didn’t mention: it can charge the phone at 15w when plugged in. There’s a sub feature that might not matter too much for most people in that the apple battery keeps the phone at 90% instead of being fully topped off which does provide more usage time than could be expected with similar MaH rated batteries. That feature also could help preserve the longevity of the phones battery itself
Great points! I briefly mentioned the 15W passthrough charging at 7:40. Very neat feature and much faster than both the MagGo batteries which only passthrough at 5W when plugged in. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
I cannot see the benefit of your point? Surely if you are plugging in the apple MagSafe battery to get it to charge at 15w why not just plug in the iPhone directly to the mains to achieve the same?
@@MarkLennard Because then you can use magsafe as a wireless charger, which is an interesting use case as to when you are not using the magsafe battery
Something that no ones mentioned is when you plug in a lightning cable into the battery pack it will simultaniusly charge both at 15watts which is great for if you need a quick charge before leaving the house. not only this it does the exact same if you plug in the lightning to the iPhone itself instead of the battery pack. so its a pretty handy feature. Apples implementation is use whilst phone is 90-100 percent untill depleted. whilst Anker is once you hit 10 percent you attach to charge as much as possible. 2 very different use cases. @@MarkLennard
I got a new iPhone 12 mini and I use my phone all the time (speculating into whether I have ADD, so it makes sense) so I've been thinking about getting a MagSafe battery product for it too. Thanks for the great video!
It only took this one video from this channel to get my suscribed to it. I don't spend a lot of time on RU-vid, and usually I only suscribe to channels when I watch several videos from the same channel and I find something that I like. With that being said, this video has way more quality than a lot of "review channels" out there. Excellent quality and content. Keep up the good work! You'll reach 100k subscribers in no time :).
love the 622 and it's stand for my 13 pro max it can charge the whole phone if plugged near 20% battery left ... i'm not a fan of the 633 mainly cos of the change in design and materials, i loved the rugged feel of the 622 and it's stand which is as sturdy as an iPad one... so i'm gonna skip the 633 and wait for their next model.
How warm do you think the iPhone gets? I’m considering using one for a concert. But I wouldn’t want my phone to overheat when filming. Would a regular power bank with a cable be smarter?
@@xjohnjohnjohnx yeah if possible a cable solution produce less heat than a wireless one. but do not worry too much , unless you live in a pretty hot area, the Iphone like all Phones on the markets can support the heat, they have an warning that i saw once only on my Iphone X, in my country France, it was like 42 degree Celsius and i left it on the sun for too long , the Iphone lock itself n waiting for the temperature to drop but i never had this warning with the 12 or 13 pro max ..., the Phones support heat they will just adapt and give you less power for games for example after a while, that's why the screen is dimming when the phone is quite hot, the component who will suffer the most is the battery cos it's a chemical part. so yeah if possible, bring a power bank with a cable. ^^
You have put in many details Especially when I saw the shaking table test, will go for 633 as it larger capacity and capability charging for other devices 👍🏻
Great Video. I tried to turn the 622 off with the power button to use it as a stand without charging and it works. You have to put it on your phone first and then press the button for 3 seconds and it turns off. 😄
I think Anker did a sneaky revision to add this to the 622 since I posted my video - as this just doesn’t work for me! But a few others have commented recently saying it’s possible now so they must have changed it! Thanks for watching and commenting! ✌🏻
I just got a 633 and love it for my S23ultra! The 633 has 20w output rate, and if I'm worried about battery longevity, I switch the phones battery maximum charge to 85%...Perfect !! 👍
The 633 charges substantially faster over USB-c. If you want to leave the battery at home and top up quick without being tethered to the wall, this is handy. Also, the 633 lets you stop charging with it attached which is important for the long term health of the phone’s internal battery by avoiding charging over 80%.
Hi Alex! The main big grey backdrop I just got from Amazon. The brand was called “Selens” I think and it’s made from PVC. Then in the top right corner it’s a couple pieces of card from GF Smith, they have loads of colours. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Nice comparison video!! I’ve been using 622 for a while as a back up solution whenever I accidentally forgot to charge my phone and have a long day, it’s doing its job quite well and I love the design of the stand on 622 more.
Everyone always misses the proper way to use the Apple MagSafe. It is essentially a battery extender and not really a battery pack. You cannot beat the software within the MagSafe battery and should be attached to your phone when you are going to be out all day. When attached to an iPhone at 100% charge already the trickle charge your phone receives is wonderful and will last a day or more. I just wish people understood it’s proper use instead of viewing as a battery pack. It was never designed to give you a full charge of your phone is less than 50%.
Great quality vided! I was surprised to see the subscriber count, however, there seem to be a mistake on 1:50 about MagSafe capacity. I think it’s around 1500mah and not 2900mah
Thanks so much Zaim! The Apple MagSafe Battery actually has 2 1460mAh cells inside, you can see them in teardowns, so 2920mAh in total! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
@@JCKRGB I’m not sure man. If that’s the case wouldn’t be able to fully charge the 13 mini which is 2400mah. I have both and it can only charge up to 60-70%
Both wired and wireless charging isn’t 100% efficient, energy is lost through heat which I talk about at 8:22. With wireless being even less efficient than wired. That’s why it can’t fully recharge the mini. ✌🏻
Also i had the white 622 same discoloration happened to me, I contacted anker and they said thts a problem with all colors and they would replace it with a black one for free and they did, now i have a black 622
Thanks for the tip Barry! In the end I contacted Anker support as the 622 was still under warranty. They seemed to be aware of the 622 discolouring so they replaced my white one with a black one. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Great review. Would love to see what you think of the new Anker 321 battery pack with Anker's new negative temperature control. Just ordered one myself, the fact it keeps the temp down and preserves my phone's battery health was the tipping point for me over these. Thanks!
Anyone hooked on getting magsafe power banks purchasedmy first one back in Feb now have 3 power banks just like bluetooth earphones and headphones i have around 12 pairs lol
what would you recommend if using a wired charging option instead of the MagSafe/Wireless? I'd rather keep it efficient and small for easy use in travel
My Apple Battery Pack also got stained by my bag almost as soon as I bought it. Quite a bit came off when I rubbed alcohol in but it’s not as clean anymore 😢
great review! as a 13 mini owner the apple magsafe is just suprior to ankers 622. it doesnt get hot and the slim body of it is just key. i cant really understand the existence of the 633 cuase its bigger size and weight (you cant really use it while attached, and if youre going to leave your phone aside it will be just better to charge with a wire from any kind of power bank- you are not usung the phone anyway). i dont think the 633 should be compared to the apple pack and even the 622 - its just qualifies for me as a heavy duty battery like otterbox\belkin qi wireless solutions. apples pack is like 1000% better after the firmware update. personally i carry my apple pack and another pretty slim 20kmaH UGreen powerbank. cant really justify ankers 633 products cause its kinda in the middle.
Good to know I bought the Anker 622 and I’m thinking of returning it cause it gets pretty hot. And I was wondering if that the same thing with the apple one.
@@RichieLanderos i think in genral you cant expect for to much in this "product segment" wireless charging is so inefficent that most of these products would be probally sh1t. apples pack is just software optimized and is mostly good as an extra for a long day , rather than a battery pack to chrage. the phone "sips"power from the pack along the day and by this usecase you get extreme good battery life. this products is not ment to charge from 0 to 100 (for this u got much more massive packs or just regular wired battery banks). i also like apples pack for being able to work as a magsafe puck when attached to a cable which non of the anker one
@@yairman4 Hey, I noticed at the end, u mentioned that the Apple MagSafe charger can be used as a “puck”, whereas the Ankers can’t. Do u mean like, u can just set the Apple MagSafe on the side of ur bed, on ur nightstand and place ur phone on it, for overnight charge, but ur saying u can’t use the Anker chargers that way? 🤔
@@nigelados4796 yes , but also no The difference is that when you use the apple one it will function as pass through charger meaning the magsafe battery won't be charged until the iPhone is 100% full. While in the Anker one the battery will be charged and then immediately discharge to charge the iphone. This kind of action shortens the longevity of the battery since it being charged and discharged when you only wanted it to function as "normal charger". What i wrote was true for the time i wrote it, there is a good chance the new anker batteries has the passthrough charging feature (although I'm not sure if they support full 15w or less)
@@yairman4 Ok, thx for responding. I like the 633(I think they have updated it to have pass-thru charging now) but because of the kickstand and 10,000 Mah…and thinking the Apple MagSafe won’t be enough juice to last..but I think what I really need is a nightstand type charger(overnight), more than an external take-along. I’m looking at the Anker Cube vs the HiRise 3 Deluxe..which would u roll with?
Thorough and balanced review and comparisons, Jack. What was that in-line device at about 10:56 in vid? Does it come with the charger? Would like to see more coverage of it. BTW, you have impressive table-shaking skills😁.
Thanks Paul! That device measures wattage output made by Pluggable! I picked it up separately on Amazon so I can test how fast the batteries charge. I’ve added a link to it in the description ✌🏻
I’d say, MagSafe battery pack is the way to go for me. Sure it has less mah than the other battery packs, but it does charge at 15w, and also goes to only 90% charge, which is great for the longevity of the phone’s battery. Also the 622 heats up a lot, almost to an uncomfortable point, whereas apple MagSafe doesn’t. I also have an iphone 14 pro max which is very heavy on its own, but with the 622 or the 633, the weight increases significantly, and i prefer my phone to be as light as possible. MagSafe is light, smaller, thinner, stays cool and helps with maintaining battery capacity.
For cleaning try using a Magic Eraser sponge. It does wonder for the white plastics on my motorcycle when it gets stained with iron mud that turns everything red.
The 633 gets warm too but I’ve not had any issues from it. I don’t use it for wireless charging every day either so personally I’m not too worried about battery degradation ✌🏻
Question : Sorry for the Google translation .... What do I need to do to display the battery level of the Anker 633 power bank in IOS 15.5 alongside the Apple Watch and Airpods Pro ? These transmit your battery status to the iPhone via Bluetooth, the power bank does not transmit anything.
The Anker 633 doesn’t have Bluetooth so it won’t show up in the iOS battery widget. The Apple MagSafe battery uses NFC to communicate battery level with the iPhone, and as far as I’m aware, Apple only allows their own battery to use NFC this way at the moment ✌🏻
For sure! The wallpaper set is made by Soham Patil and you can find it at the link below. Comes in a bunch of colours! ✌🏻 www.behance.net/gallery/117996377/Waves-Wallpapers
I will be going to Disneyland in December, which battery pack do you recommend most? I have an iPhone 12 and will be using my phone to help me in the parks, take pictures, mobile order, etc.
Maybe go for the 633! That has the biggest capacity so you should get plenty of extra power for it to last throughout each day. Have a great trip Vanessa! ✌🏻
I want some help, i want your recommendation here please, for my iphone 12 pro max, which one do you think is better for on the go day to day when you go out, anker mag go 622 5000mah or anker powercore III sense 10,000mah wireless (non mag safe). I want your idea by battery capacity versus the portability and price and efficiency factor. Which would be best for me ?
I got the anger 622, and it is not really fixed to the iPhone, the magnet works but it easily rotates. what about the apple battery, is it fixed, or does it rotate like the anker
Thanks a lot for this great review/comparison! You gave all the answers on the questions I had before I saw your video! I subscribed immediately! Good luck with your great channel 👌🏼
Great video. If you're charging wirelessly on the 633, if you then plug in the phone to it, does wireless charging cancel and the more efficient wired charging take over?
Yes it does! Makes it extra handy having that C port on the side so you can use it as a stand but have the faster wired charging. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Hi. Can you use wired charging on anker magsafe powerbanks even when its attached to the phones? I just want it attached to the phone while wired charging. Thank you.
Thanks Danny! The Moment products are their Macro and Gold Flare Anamorphic lenses, plus their Bluetooth Remote - but I have the older version of it. I've added links for them in the description for you. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
My biggest concern if heat I use power banks all the time and it would be nice to just slap a charger on the back and forget about it. My phone hasn’t dimmed once lol
Hey - I just got the 633. It charges an external device from the USB-A port. When I lay my iPhone 13 Pro on it, it starts to change my phone wirelessly, and disables the external device power... but after about 1-2 seconds, the external device starts to charge again. So it is concurrently charging my phone wirelessly AND my external device. The USB-C port works to charge the 633. But one issue... The USB-C port will not power an external device (even when wireless is not being used). I've verified the USB-C cable is good. So the 633 might be defective? I love this device but I need the USB-C port to power an external device. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks!
So the USB-C port only works to charge in to the 633 - but not out to other devices? If so then yes it could be defective. Contact the seller or reach out to Anker directly, their customer support can also help you and send you a free replacement ✌🏻
Very informative vid bro! Just wanted to know if will it charge 20W if i connect my phone through c port while simultaneously attached it on the back of the phone thru magsafe magnet?
Thanks Jan! And yes! If you connect via USB C and stick it to the back of your phone, it will go with the faster 20w wired connection for charging. Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
Officially Anker says these only wirelessly charge MagSafe iPhones. And I don’t have a non-iPhone to test with unfortunately! But maybe someone else here in comments has tried it with a magnetic case and can answer your question. Thanks for watching Troy! ✌🏻
The Anker 622 & 633, plus Apple’s MagSafe Battery are designed to be used with MagSafe iPhones - currently that’s just the iPhone 12 & 13 series. I haven’t been able to wirelessly charge non-MagSafe iPhones with the 622 or 633 for more than a few seconds before it just stops as it isn’t compatible.
The Apple MagSafe has two 1,460mAh batteries inside linked together giving it 2,920mAh in total. If you watch a teardown of the MagSafe Battery, you’ll be able to see for yourself! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
I don’t think I did any motion graphics in this video! But I have in other videos - for things like port outlines I make something pretty basic using Apple Motion (I edit in Final Cut) and for any tracking and call-outs I usually use mCallout Specs from MotionVFX! Thanks for watching! ✌🏻
