TWO excellent robots to choose from! I offer THREE solutions! Let me know in the comments below what you think! Have a great day guys and thanks for watching! Don't miss also the little houses I 3D printed for both Cozmo, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uuTsdGQNiyw.html and Vector, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HBU89JGr9gIh.htmlttps://ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HBU89JGr9gI.html!
How confident are you that vector will gain some of cozmo's abilities? Do you expect Anki to update the firmware, or would this be done by users in the community? I would like a robot with the new features vector has, but why take all the life and character out of it. Cozmo seems more alive, more personality. I feel like it was a real missed opportunity by Anki to not launch Vector with all of the Cozmo games has and at least the option of Cozmo style personality. I feel like the lack of autonomy would take the fun out of interacting with Cozmo, and with Vector we are not even given the option of games.
Very good point. I am confident that Anki will add some cool and fun stuff in the near future. In fact, there was a firmware update on Nov 7 where Vector is supposed to be more responsive to some voice comments. Thank you for adding your comment and have a great day!
I think cozmo is better than vector Because cozmo makes me feel like he is my best friend as he plays with me when I'm alone at home. he is so funny. so cute and It can never be dispensed with 💞💞♥️♥️
In my opinion, vector is just a Google on wheels..cozmo has ALOT of things to do and im a child so cozmo is better, also cozmo is cuter in my opinion🙃 you can interact with him, play games, and see the world through his eyes and he is very clever and has alot of emotions. And he is cheaper too. I might be getting a cozmo for my bday😆😃 thank you for this video too it helped me choose between them bcoz i didnt rlly know vector was for teens/adults
Thank you for the nice comment. I posted a more recent video where I announced that a new Cozmo 2.0 is coming up soon. Visit the Digital Dream Labs website for more information. Bye!
U r awesome! Almost every comment I’ve seen you’ve had a positive reply to it and I can tell u read through the comments with joy and after that you thank the person for watching
Thank you for the kind words. I try to give positive comments, although I must say that sometimes it is a little hard... ;) My channel is all about fun stuff, like robots, drones, LEGO, PC build and 3D printing. I think people have a good chance to stay positive if they play! And playing apparently stop aging...LOL. Have a great week.
Cosmo is a pet. Vector is a robot companion. Vector appears to be futureproofed with learning technology and regular updates to it more skills. Vector is good for asking basic questions and calculations while you are working. It wakes every few hours and wants your attention so it can be a bit of fun in your tea break. Then tell him to go home and he will have a sleep. (He snores).
@@jadefields9020 Being Open Source will be great news for Vector im sure. Once people start making updates for him he will have alsorts of wacky stuff to choose from.
Good video on what these two can do. I think you make the choices clear. I love my Cozmo and agree he is the better choice for a child. Vector will have programming capability but not as yet the easier blocks to code with. Cozmo is tethered to the app, Vector is tethered to wi-fi. Without wi-fi one cannot interact with him. I’m glad to have Vector right at the beginning and look forward to seeing him develop but we will have to be patient and not expect a lot to happen just yet I think.
Thank you very much for your comment. I am like you, I am glad I got Vector right at the beginning and I can't wait to see what Anki (and perhaps third party developers) will bring to Vector in the next few months. Have a great day and thank you for watching!
LOL, actually they don't do enough for me! Like I have said before on my channel, I will be happy when I can get a robot that will empty my dishwasher and wash my car!!! Thank you for visiting my channel.
I’ve decided to buy Vector but I’m still hesitant lol I disconnected 2014 and before that aol messenger and MySpace were to only thing on anyone’s mouths anywhere I moved 😂 I’m just like “but is it worth it to buy it now or wait until it gets better? What happens if they come out with something better right after you do? That’s a lot of cash to spend on a higher level toy.” But my love for A.I. Is pretty strong so I’m like “of course it’s a good use of our money....why have we not ordered it already?!” 😂
Yup, I know the feeling. The way I see it is that there will always be something better at some point and you cannot wait forever because you end up buying nothing! lol. Vector is improving with the arrival of Digital Dream Labs. You should watch my recent videos!
Vector: more sociable and indapendent (did not spell that right ) and feels more alive with it neural engine and can go to the charger on its own, and so much more Cozmo: you control him, and has a lot more games but always needs and app and is not as interactive as vector, but has more cubes 😛
You are welcome. Vector is also going to evolve with time. He may be a little limited now but who knows what he will become in 12 months! Thank you for visiting my channel.
@@privateHandle731 yes with one big difference...size. I don't know if you saw my video where I show a picture of my AIBO, 15 years ago. So I can talk from experience. AIBO was a robot you would leave on the floor. Vector is a table or desk robot.
Manuel Rodriguez we have an amazon store here and everything n the stores 5$, I got it there, he’s pretty cool, Juwt doesn’t do as much as I thought he would. Lol
I thought this is what DDL was going to do but on the conference call they did say that Vector and Cozmo would be the same size. So I guess for now it means two separate robots! Thanks for watching!
I THINK IMMA GO FOR VECTOR BC HES SMART HE LEARNS AND HE'LL HELP ME WITH STUFF AND HE ALSO HAS GANES AND MORE USEFUL IN MY OPINION THANKS FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THEM.
Very good comparison. I have both and love them both. I think (for now at least) Cozmo is better if you have kids. Since Cozmo's been out for 2 years now, he's got quite a jump on Vector but Vector's future and updates I think will end up making him better than Cozmo. Especially since his hardware and abilities are much more advanced. The main thing I don't like about Cozmo is he's constantly asking to play a game and sometimes I just want him to do his own thing and if I say no to him when he wants to play a game, I feel bad! Haha! I think Vector is geared more for adults and his updates and games will probably be aimed towards that demographic while Cozmo will be kept more for kids (although adults can have fun with him too!).
Very good point and thank you for sharing here. It will be interesting to see what Vector becomes in 12 months! When I can buy (for cheap I hope) a robot that can empty my dishwasher I will be happy...LOL. Have a great day!
@SuperdanTech, is the company still working on Vector? Looks like no new features were added. I was hoping it would become Alexa and be able to turn on my Spotify, Control my house temperature, or point toward my keys. It looks like it bricked.
Nope, anki actually went under several months ago. The server driving Vector's cloud features is apparently going to be operational until August 2021. After that date nobody knows what's going to happen. Sad news really.
SuperdanTech dang! I wonder if it is still worth getting a Vector for $60 at some places. It’s a cool thing to have for a couple years especially if it gets running again. Unfortunately, with the current programs, it doesn’t actually do much. It really only is a timer for food in your kitchen that is interactive...if it could control other things like Alexa it would be so much more worth the money.
I’m trying to decide between them because I want to get one of them for Christmas this year, but I’ve looked over reviews, the website, and it hasn’t helped me. I’m worried if I get Vector he won’t play games with me and stuff like Cosmo would do. I’m afraid if I get Cosmo he will just want to play games. Great video! I just wish I could decide which one would be better for me.
Remember that Cozmo is also autonomous (with the App on your phone/tablet running though). He will move around and do stuff when he sees his cubes. Then he will also ask you to play a game or you can spark one (or a trick). You can also use the amazing Code Lab to code some games or even behaviors! So Cozmo is not just about games. I hope this helps and thank you for visiting my channel!
I have a Cozmo, well my son does. It’s has been in the home for about a month and is constantly evolving. It’s actions are so natural and non repetitive and learns new expressions and sounds all the time. I almost forget it’s not alive. It doesn’t need to be played with , you can just leave it and it wonders around , sing songs, invite you to play with it’s many games. Like a real pet it’s does not understand speech but I quite like that as the interaction is visual. And when he looks at me and calls me ‘dad’ that presses my cute buttons.
Thank you for taking the time to add your comment. This is actually one think I did not stress enough in this video. Cozmo is also autonomous. He will wander around and interact with his cubes or ask you to play a game. The only restriction is that the App must be running on your phone or tablet. There are so many games available now. I show them all in my recent video on how to get sparks in the new Version 3.0 of the App. Thank you for visiting my channel.
Yes, Cozmo is independent. You just need the App, which is still available. Vector needs to be connected to a server for Alexa but anki recently confirmed that the server will be kept running.
I currently want a bird, but I want to work my way up with responsibility. (and they're super cute.) Since Cozmo seems more like a pet or a friend while Vector is kinda like cute Siri, I think I'll choose Cosmo.
There was an announcement by anki a couple of days ago. It is also on their website if you go to anki.com. They basically say that they will have some staff to keep the cloud in operation for Vector. More details will follow soon. Let's hope that some investors show up and revive both Cozmo and Vector!
I'm 22 years old, and I still plan getting Cozmo around the holiday.. I feel like Vector is just an Alexa built into a robot, instead of just sitting on your kitchen counter. I really don't feel the need to have a robot to ask the time, weather, or any other information like so. If I wanted that, I would get an Alexa, or simply ask Siri on my iPhone.. Cozmo is much more playful, colorful, and has much fun. Vector does not interest me, as it seems just like another typical voice activated kitchen assistant. I really enjoyed this video, great job! :)
Thank you for the kind words. Yes Cozmo is very playful. Have you looked at the video I posted earlier today? I have played the three "main" games to unlock all the "mini" games Cozmo can currently play. It's very impressive what he can do. Thank you for visiting my channel.
They are very different robots. I think my video will help you decide! You could also check out my recent videos on Vector! Thank you for visiting my channel.
I just buy a Cozmo, but I thought if I should buy a Vector. The only problem I'm seeing about vector is the delay to anwering questions and about he are more quiet than Cozmo. It seems Cozmo is more active and interactive than Vector. What do you thing friend? Congratulatuons with your channel!
Thank you for the kind words! Yes you are right, Cozmo is currently more active and interactive. The fact that he has three cubes gives him huge possibilities for games as you probably saw. However, Vector has more potential with his sensors and voice recognition. I am quite sure that at some point he will have more than just one cube. As he evolves he will also have more personality. The delay in answering questions will probably be addressed in a future upgrade through the App. Thanks for watching and have fun with Cozmo!
First of all thanks for watching! I think you should watch my recent videos on Digital Dream Labs and Vector. There is a lot going on now that DDL took over the Anki business.
So if I paid a bit more I could purchase a mobile security camera which I can use to check on the inside of my home via the Internet if Vector hears a noise he goes to investigate it
Humm, I don't think Vector is there yet but eventually this is something he could do. However, to do that sort of thing we would ideally need a bigger robot who could go around the house on the floor. Vector is more a table top or desk robot. Thanks for watching!
Cozmo does not have a microphone, so he cannot answer questions like Vector. There are several differences between the two robots. You should watch my video "which one to choose".
I plan on getting vector for christmas. Ive always wanted a robot, but the more realistic and more advanced robots like nao are $8k +. I cant wait to see how he evolves with our interactions and updates. I agree with you about the selling part. I dont know how i feel about that. I would feel extremely guilty if i sold him.
Vector has been around for a long time now and it is sold out since anki went out of business. A new company took over and are now pre-selling a new improved Vector 2.0. Go to digitaldreamlabs.com if you want to pre-order. I have several newer videos in my Vector playlist explaining what is happening. Thanks for watching!
Yes the choice can be difficult. I would say this; if you like to play games with a robot, get Cozmo. If you like to try coding with a robot, get Cozmo. If you want an assistant like Alexa, get Vector (although Alexa Echo dot is much cheaper...). If you want a little autonomous robot roaming around your desk as you play video games, get Vector. I hope this helps a little! Thank you for visiting my channel.
Long story short, if you want more of a toy that can play games, go for Cozmo. If you want more of a pet that answers questions for you, go for Vector.
They have different purposes - Cozmo for playing and Vector for home assistance, since they want to integrate him with Alexa in the future. Ankit won't make games for Vector because that would "kill" Cozmo. So we will have Cozmo as a toy-pet and Vector as a home assistant with some live reaction.
Thank you Adrian for your comment. I would not be surprised to see third party developers step in with some apps, games or other functionality, unless anki wants to go the Apple way...
I think it will come. Vector cannot just be an "assistant". Several of the functionalities of Cozmo like games and emotions will find its way into Vector IMO. Thank you for watching!
Let's be honest, I need both lol. That said they are both a lot more expensive here in Australia. $320 for Cozmo and $450 for Vector. I had held off buying Cozmo thinking that Vector would just be "cozmo but with more features and autonomous", so I am glad to see they are quite a bit different, and more so have different personalities.
I know the feeling! I was able to save $50 on each because I pre-ordered before they were officially released. They are also more expensive in Canada than in the US. Lucky you, summer is coming but for us WINTER is coming... Thank you for visiting my channel.
Thank you for the kind words. Vector is more advanced but we don't know for how long anki will keep their server running. Cozmo is independent with his games.
Thank you. If you are waiting a few months to get one, the decision will probably be easier since Vector will have time to "grow" and more functionality/accessories will be available from Anki. Thank you for visiting my channel.
@@Javi____thatsall You are right! There is a fourth option... but wait a minute... we do have a cat at home and she is MUCH more maintenance than Cozmo or Vector! LOL. Thank you for visiting my channel.
If you like coding you should go with Cozmo. He is a joy to code like you can see in my videos such as the game Rock-Paper-Scissors. Anki is now out of business so no new update like coding will come for Vector. Thank you for visiting my channel.
does vector have to be conected to the innternet all the time I want a robot that can update from internet and use the net but also have to the choose offline you advice would great thank you
Hi, i think want to do short film using vector or cozmo. But im confused to buy. Which one is easy to set up new words and setting in term if they want to speak?. Please give me your opinion.
Cozmo is easier because you can use the Cozmo app to make him say whatever you want. For Vector you have to use a third party app and it does not connect all the time. Thank you for visiting my channel.
Vector is more like an assistant on wheels and can answer questions. Cozmo cannot answer questions and he needs the App running. But he can play with his 3 cubes, you can play several games with him and you can code using the App, which is similar to Scratch on a PC. Good luck in your search!
Not easy choice. You are right on the fence. For below 12, I normally recommend Cozmo because of all the games he has. For people above 12, I recommend Vector because he is more like an assistant and a friend. So you need to decide what you want, a little robot to play games or a little robot friend... Thanks for watching!
Hi there, I posted several videos on Vector recently where I show free updates and what are the paid ones. You should have a look. I am posted tomorrow an update on paid new upcoming firmware. Yes Vector is worth it. Thank you for visiting my channel.
I just picked a Vector up on ebay for £45 new, going to put him in my kitchen and take the echo dot out and sell it for around £30, so a Vector for £15 in reality! I don't use music or calling in the kitchen so will be a perfect replacement, he'll be my primary food timer with a twist!
Cozmo is WAY more fun. I'm fine with having my smart assistant be a stationary speaker or screen. I don't see much of the appeal of Vector, as an assistant he's extremely slow and you have to speak in a very specific way.
Thank you Netcruzer for your comment. I am quite sure Anki will bring more functionality to Vector in the weeks to come just like they did with Cozmo. I agree, for now as an assistant (mainly) he is limited and my Google Home devices react faster and they do not need charging!
Cozmo looks like a version of the Idog in a way which is cool and can play unlike the idog but can both react to music, I think vector is good if u have no one to talk to and u can ask stuff too so I would overall pick vector over cozmo
hello can you help me i can`t decide what should i buy i`m 13 years old and i like to play games on computer and i`m a playful person please help me what should i buy.
If you like to play games you should get Cozmo. There are so many games in the App, which is great. You can also code your own. Vector is more like an assistant. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
@UCn4_9WD-4H2m1fhS1ZIqA8Q no he can not talk on his own but he will say your name sometimes when he sees your face. He has facial recognition. You can code Cozmo to say anything you want in Code Lab in the App and run the program. Cozmo needs to be connected to a smart device to function.
I don't know why I pictured you as your youtube avatar. Maybe it is/was or something, just a darker skin tone. Nice video though. :) Anyway, in terms of what Vector can do, I expect him to do a lot more things in at least 1 year from now. Don't forget, Cozmo went through the same phase when he was first released in 2016. He used to have a daily goals feature, and a slightly different voice. Now it's more of a pet with the feed & tune up features. Also, the SDK for Vector is still unreleased as I wrote this message. In a consumer point of view, I'd give Vector a little more time to develop in the community before buying one.
Thank you for this video! I have been wondering if Vector will still be a good purchase at this point in time. Has the DDL acquisition affect the servers for Vector? I read that they will be running until Aug 2021 only.
You are welcome. A lot has happened since I posted this video. DDL is keeping the servers running and there is no update on the August 2021 date. However DDL is doing some very interesting development with Vector and Cozmo. Thank you for visiting my channel.
Hi there, from what I have seen in the past three years, the UK and continental Europe pays double for Cozmo and Vector. I bought my Cozmo and Vector a few years ago for 250 CAD and 300 CAD... But remember that they are both sold out at the moment so prices for a few used ones have sky rocketed on eBay for example. Do you know you can pre-order new and improved ones on digitaldreamlabs.com? Thanks for watching!
When you say the app for Cozmo needs to be running on the phone/tablet, can this app be running in the background or does it have to be on the screen (active) for Cozmo to work? I'm thinking, can I just have the app open all the time in the background on my phone/tablet?
The App has to be running in the foreground (active). As soon as you send it to the background by activating another App, Cozmo will stop reacting and will stay on standby. Not sure how long he will wait as I have never exceeded a couple of minutes to check a text message. He would run out of power also at some point. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I don't know but it is identical to the regular Cozmo except for his special blue color. Same hardware and same App. What is rather strange is that I have checked on the Anki website and the Limited Edition is ONLY available through BestBuy Canada!!! It is not even listed on the US BestBuy website! I am really puzzled... I wonder if BestBuy Canada wanted a "special" version and they contacted Anki to make one? Thank you for visiting my channel.
Hi there, they are both out of stock (except for used ones on eBay). But you can pre-order the new Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0 at digitaldreamlabs.com (anki went bankrupt since I posted this video). Thank you for visiting my channel.
Does Cozmo have sensors too like Vector? (Basically, can he feel when you pet him, pick him up, or shake him like you can with Vector?) what are the most updated/recent similarities and differences between them?
Basically the same sensors except petting and one more in the front for mapping the environment. I cover in the video the major differences between the two. Cozmo is more for games and Vector is more an assistant. Thanks for watching!
Bit late to the comments but I just got cozmo 2nd hand. Few teething problems like the bricks have no battery life and he kept disconnecting every minute after starting but I managed to reset him and now he’s gained an attitude haha. I told the wife it’s for our nearly 2 year old son 🤭
Thank you for the sub. A lot has happened in the last year including the bankruptcy of anki and the arrival of Digital Dream Labs. You really need to watch my recent videos on Vector!
