I have had alot of experience with tendinitis and the best way to treat is FIRST rest the effected area until acute pain is gone. SECOND strengthen the area (if it is your Achilles look up Achilles and calf muscle exercises) and then THIRDLY start stretching the area. Trying to balance the stretching and the strengthening can be tricky, especially if you are doing this on your own, but basically if your tendinitis was caused by muscle weakness; stretching without strengthening will cause the area to flare up again, however strengthening the muscle without stretching it will cause it to shorten up and also be prone to flaring up again. For this reason I personally recommend (I'm not a doctor, this is just what has worked for me) starting with the strengthening, and then slowly incorporating the stretching. Also at some point you'll be doing both strengthening and stretching, I've found I have better luck with separating the two- so stretch in the morning and then strength exercises in the evening. Once upon a time I had tendinitis in my hamstring, and my hips- as an athlete I can not tell you how big of a hindrance this was for me (alot alot of tears haha) Trying to figure out how to properly treat this stuff, took me forever, and if can help someone get through what I went through....don't hesitate to ask me me questions!
My ankle in tje back and the sides and my dad wobt get my ankle checked out and i ice 3 hours every day and it still hurts it even hurts worse after iceing it
When you have Achilles Tendonitis what to do?? I have rested 5 months no weights no running no sports no hiking. When I can go to gym lift weights? Play football or do running? My left foot bothers me at night. Its super annoying. It feels different from my other foot at all times. I cant sleep unless i have something ontop of my foot which sort of distracts the sort of tingling feeling i get.

This confirms to me that I have ankle tendonitis. I am overweight and am 40 years old. I have started walking everyday to get back in shape an also spend my whole work day on my feet. After standing a long time the inside of my ankle gets extremely sensitive and inflamed. Just like the doc said, in the morning first thing is when the pain is at its worst. There are times when I wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and can hardly walk.

For treatment, use what's called RICE(rest, ice, compression, and elevation. Rest the tendon as much as possible, apply ice for a while, where a compression sock, lay down and elevate the effected site above the heart
It feels like there's a bruise on the front of my ankle on the tendon because I was trying to dunk on my basket ball hoop for 3 hours a day for the last 3 days. (I couldn't dunk). It doesn't even hurt that bad but it's uncomfortable and I'm scars my tendon is one day just gonna snap.

Hi I play a lot of sports but one day when I came back from a game the next day I couldn’t walk and I don’t know what happened a few days later I could barely walk but on the side of my foot so there is not pressure on the injury. And when it heals it’s fine but after training it goes back to pain. Any suggestions?
The exact same thing happened to me and it's been months later now and it still isn't better it's like a shock of pain below you ankle bone on the inside of your foot when you put pressure on it.
i kinda had the same thing i played soccer 6 out of 7 days a week and then slipped on ice one day(turns out it was fractured and i ran on it for a year) then after i got out of a cast it still hurt, 2 years later it still hurts in my inner ankle and a cant run, if i run 2 steps i cant walk for another week without limping ive had 3 mri's and cant figure out what is hurting @shane Kriwan i also had shock pain when running

Iszak Hunter yeh I have the exact issue. I’ve broken bones but this is probably the worst pain I’ve felt. I’d go to the doctor but I have an exam on Tuesday so I cba waiting hours just to be seen
I had Achilles tendinitis last year from wearing work foot wear. A month after recovery I started suffering from sciatica and lower back pain. This happen on and off for a whole year. I was given excerises and followed youtube videos which didn't really help. Is there any information on stating if arhillies and sciatica are linked? I've been suffering for over a year with just pain.
i think i have this. if i work on my feet too much my right ankle hurts so bad that after work i can’t put any weight on it and next morning it hurts too but during the day when i try to walk on it to work the pain goes away but comes back after i stop using my foot again. i usually need 1 whole day off for it not to hurt :(((

Hi i ride horses about once a week and i dknt know if that is what is putting stress kn my ancles or not... but whenever i run or jog my right foots ancle (usually on the outside) hurts and sometimes also only on my right leg my knee will also start huting.. should i wear ancle and knee guards or should i see a doctor
