I really like my Ankway solar fountain as it works really well in my small pond. I do need to get some more mesh filters or instructions on how to make them. I also have a round soft foam disc that came with the fountain kit and I don't know what it is for?
I bought this (same brand as in vid) from Amazon a month ago. It still works just like this video. I don't use the fountain attachments, that way the water doesn't splash out of our birdbath. Water stays filled longer. It works great!
My fountain worked perfectly for about 3 weeks, but suddenly stopped working. I've picked it up, taken the filter off and rinsed it out and replaced it, wiped off the surface, but still nothing.. even in bright sunlight.
seen a few of these videos and item always seems to be in some place bathed in strong sunlight. people from UK will know we're not often bathed in strong constant sunlight! wonder how well they cope in just moderate light?
Mine didn't come with any filter.... I have tried several times cleaning it, and looking for something that may be stopping it up, and no luck. I hear its noise, when I pick it up out of the water, but nothing when I set it back up. I tried putting a finger on one of the solar panels, but that doesn't do it either. I'm so disappointed as I was looking forward to it!
Kathy Coleman my mom got one it stoped working after a week. They are poorly made. The pumps go out qiuck. I bought four and four by "other" companies there all the same. All made in Seghine chine or whatever the industrial city is there. All 16 I bought in total to test only 2 worked but died after two weeks the solar panels were warped and the glue holding the pads on faild couldn't handle direct sunlight (8+hrs) in the California mountins. I will never by this product again. The fail rate is to high.
I live in Michigan and tried one in my cement birdbath......nope.....all the water sprayed out of the birdbath because it floated around and it was windy and the water sprayed all over the place. It had 3 tiny suction cups on the bottom but wouldn't stick to cement. I had to return it.
But of course - since it has no battery it goes without saying that it needs direct sunlight in order to work. I thought that was quite obvious to everyone.
Ankway should have troubleshooting information for this product. What a big disappointment that I got only half a season out of it. The filter is clean . I took it off and the inside was clean too. So it must be that water got into the part that takes in the solar rays.. and so it is not waterproof as they claim. I am going to see if it dries out and starts working again. I will not buy a new one as there are many complaints about this ceasing to function and even though I clean it regularly from little pine needles and slime.
mine worked great for a few days now does not turn on at all - also the teeny tiny itsy bitsy little suction cups wont even hold on my glass bowl bird bath and one wont even stay in and keeps falling out - would be nice if it worked like it did for the first two days
Piece of junk. Spurts on and off sometimes even in direct sunlight. Wish I had seen the videos of all the hoops you have to jump thru just to get it to squirt occasionally. Pass!
