Over time, Ankylosing Spondylitis can result in the fusing of vertebrae in the spine resulting in a hunched posture, trouble breathing (if the ribs are affected) and even vision problems.
Corinn was a joy to talk to, and very forthcoming about the challenges she faces living with Ankylosing Spondylitis. It wasn't a "doom-and-gloom" interview though; we had fun.

I relate to this so much... My experience was very similar. 6+ years of pain, multiple doctors, tried everything, then finally figured it out myself and got in with a rheumatologist who confirmed my suspicions immediately. It has left me feeling pretty jaded and frustrated with the medical system, but grateful for my rheumatologist.

I'm 62, and the pain is constant. No remission. In terms of walking, it is painful, but I have to move around in spirts. I've lived with this pain my entire life. You described it exactly.

I am a 53 yr old female. I was just diagnosed with Axil and Perpheial Anchlospondolitis. I have been in debilitating pain since 2016. The Rheumolotogist took one look at me and diagnosed me with this awful disease. I walk with a walker, and my life is 24 hours debilitating pain. I start Humaria in a couple of days, praying it works.

My doctors speak about insurance more than my AS disease and how to save my life. The system is beyond broken and inhumane. I hope and wish for all Americans to wake up to this fact before they get into the sickness and having to deal with how terrible the medical system is, with or with out expensive insurance.

I think people don’t understand how much fatigue this causes also. Sometimes it’s more debilitating than the pain.

I’m also “textbook” AS and still took years for a proper diagnosis and longer to get the correct drugs. The biological Simponi works the very best for me - like rainfall on a grass fire. It is a tough syndrome and I so appreciate this video in raising awareness.
