still listening to this masterpiece in 2024. i’m not even joking it’s literally an amazing song! lyrics are ridiculous, iconic and dumb in the best way ever! and musically it’s just a masterpiece. the production, progression, orchestration, melody, vocals everything about it is mesmerizing. also it has that nostalgic vibe that even made me cry hahha i love the melody of it so much. probably no one gets this as much as i do but idcc it’s a banger. definitely deserved spot in the final. a literal “beautiful song” i’ll be listening to this my whole life ❤
I am addicted to this song and feel absolutely no shame about it. It's so brilliant! They all look like they are having so much fun and it is such a joy to witness. The lyrics are coherent, vivid and original; they're definitely a little cheesy, but they're so much fun. I love love love the melody and orchestration and the way the melody of the chorus is slightly descending? It's peculiar to hear in such a feel-good song and gives it a nice twist. Her voice is very clean and strong, and her high notes are technically perfect. The structure is solid, the key change is perfect and her vocal line in the last chorus is amazing. It's just funny and not too serious but also well executed? Wow I'm obsessed. My fourth place from this year, one of the biggest robberies ever in my opinion.
then in what kind of clothing you freaking need to go if your performing on Eurovisian? hmm? sweatpants, pajamas, overalls??? that's just a basic formal wear if your to blind to see... but... if you see those as a wedding dress, wow your mind of style is waaaaay weak/poor...
I think the staging was just bad. The song was actually very good and her performance in the national selections in Latvia was SO much better. You should watch it.
This song is such a guilty pleasure. The lyrics are so fabulously dumb. If it went full camp in performance it might have qualified. The staging was just boring, though.
I think the lyrics killed the chance it had. The melody is quite catchy but mated to the lyrics it just flies over the head of the Eurovision audience. Like you said it might have qualified had they went full camp.
Right?! That's what my 13 y.o. self was wishing for her too when I heard this plea of hers! I couldn't understand sarcasm back then I thought the lyrics were so genuine! 😅 I was so shocked when she didn't qualify!!
Beautiful song is on the radio, is in the TV shows and plays on and on Beautiful song that everybody hums and everybody loves. I must admit, I like this song!
Anmary is a star. Seriously. She has a beautiful and strong voice. But the staging was so bad. Her backup dancers seemed like they were lost in a crowd and it completely ruined the song.
I know lyrics are quite stupid, but THIS IS JUST SO CATCHY!! And this makes me happy and i wanna start singing! :) Good job Anmary and Latvia! Greetings from Finland :)
Hands down the best troll entry in the history of Eurovision! Just brilliant! 👏 🎩 This is such a fine trolling you have a hard time understanding whether these lyrics are sarcastic or you should be worrying for her sanity? She sounds so serious one may easily believe she is actually that delusional to wait for Mick Jagger to call her and Paul McCartney to work with her.... When I was watching this live on TV I was only 13 y.o. and couldn't understand sarcasm, so I bought into her just sincerely dreaming to win Eurovision, and since the pop culture of that time was full of "follow your dreams" and that kind of stuff, I felt for her and genuinely wanted her to win and the song to become a worldwide hit. I was shocked when such a heartfelt song didn't even qualify, and felt so sorry for her! Today I understand her trolling of pop music industry, but still love the song itself nonetheless! Now we can't say she lied in the chorus! 😃 It actually *does* sound like a typical radio hit of that era, one that "everybody would hum"! Btw I also get goosebumps on 2:53. ❤
This song is lethal! it gets stuck in your head. I think it's a pretty little song, but why is it staged to look like a slightly cheap provincial wedding?
I love this song, Beautiful song that everybody knows and everybody hums. Latvia deserved the final, really nice song... Anyway and still... 12 points from Spain!
@@sabcialove I feel like the lyrics are deliberately ''bad'' (campy, over-the-top), but the performance was too stale to properly work with the cheesy angle the lyrics offer.
@@markosroussos2463 the only true voice crack of those you mentioned was the third one. The first two are a special vocal technique, it's used a lot in country music, folk music and to some degree yodel. And the third time she tried to do the same but failed.
My favourite was the one with the lyrics about the girls from last night. I think it was called Too Much. Had a woman belting out "lalala" as the chorus. Was fantastic.
I love the song so much, Her vocals are amazing, Love her dress and the staging is not so bad, it could be worse but I still really like the staging, underrated. Love from Croatia :)
I think the lyrics are sarcastic but I agree this is a *very fine* trolling and can make you confused whether she is serious or trolls the pop music industry.
The results of semifinal 1 in 2012 were very painful, all my favourites (Latvia, San Marino, Belgium, Finland - top 4 from that year) didn't qualified into the final.
