This is wild. Trump's Dad was born in the Bronx in 1905 to German immigrant parents, meaning Trump is only a second-generation American.

I mean Trump’s paternal grandfather was born in Germany, which makes Trump second generation on his dad’s side. Also, his mom was born in Scotland, making him first generation on his mom’s side. Is she saying that he should not have been eligible for the presidency just because of him not being three generations American?

It has nothing to do with racism but I only mention it regarding POC. Natural born citizen just means you’re a US citizen who never had to naturalize. The only recent Presidential candidate who technically was not a natural born US citizen was John McCain, born in the US Panama Canal Zone and given US citizenship by an act of Congress in 1937, after he was born.

I will say I loosely agree that there should be some rule to secure the right to run as a president for people that have been committed to living in a place for at least a couple of generations to seal their commitment but I think this is her saving her own ass because she didn't say "I won't vote for you because you are second generation" she specifically said "...because you are an Indian" sometimes Freudian slips are quite obvious. She might be doing this for attention or might not be too serious about it but there is some underlying truth to even casual statements. I don't find an issue with her opinion which is what it is. I find an issue with the logic (or lack there of). A successful society relies on meritocracy and MERIT is what you need above all for a leadership position not some random ethnic identity. Being Anglo-Saxon/Germanic is what she would ideally what the president to be which doesn't qualify the person in any way to lead.
