This was filmed at the Las Vegas Hilton in November 1972, just ten weeks after her horrific accident in Sept. 1972 when she fell two stories off a platform onto the stage. The accident happened at the Sahara Tahoe. Ann-Margret lost a lot of weight after the fall, as they had to wire her jaws shut, & she could only eat liquidized food. But her regular weight was around 112 lbs. So this video was part of her comeback to the stage. It was telecast on TV in April 1973 as her 4th TV Variety Special. 🌻❇️🌻
And regarding other comment... There is nothing trashy about Ann-Margret. In real life, she is quiet, polite, soft-spoken & well-mannered. She never speaks ill of anyone. Her wild side comes out on stage, which is true for a lot of perfomers. She is kind & generous to her fans. I've met her in person, so I know. Thank you, Ann-Margret! 🍀
Very true. I just read her biography. She is as fine an indivudual as you can imagine. Everything "wild and crazy" about her is all on stage. Any Hollywood star with a 50 year marriage under her belt is obviously a rooted, stable individual. Add gorgeous and talented to that and you get... Ann-Margret!
Only discovered Ann-Margaret in my later years. We received our first televisions in South Africa January 1976. I’ve just got married then! Mostly of our program’s were from Germany the first years. But I discovered her on my IPAD. I think she is fantastic person and glad that she got such a very good looking husband like Roger Smith. Now in heaven. She deserves more from life, Hollywood look around you. How can you forget the older actors ❤
Wish people would get their facts straight! Ann-Margret & Elvis were close during the filming of "Viva Las Vegas" circa 1963. The movie was released in 1964. Ann-Margret was NOT married, & neither was Elvis. In fact, they both got married in 1967. Ann-Margret was with ROGER SMITH from 1964 until his death in 2017. Over 50 years together! 🌷💖🌷
WELL, ANYBODY EXCEPT ELVIS P. BACK IN HIS MOVIE/STAGE DAYS BACK WHEN...BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER HIS ARMY YEARS, BUT ESPECIALLY BEFORE THEM...GO YOU TUBE AND GOOGLE HIS EARLY STAGE DANCING AND MOVIES....MIND BOGGLING THE WAY HE WOULD DANCE AND MOVE...I WOULD SWEAR HE FLOATS THE WAY HE WOULD SLIDE AND MOVE ACROSS THE DAMN STAGE...AND IN "JAILHOUSE ROCK".....FORGET ABOUT IT...ALL RAW AND NATURAL BEAT AND RHYTHM...IT CAME FROM WITHIN HIM...FROM HIS BRAIN AND HIS OWN SOUL...BUT ANN'S BEAUTIFUL, SEXY AND CURVACOUS BODY, AND HER NATURAL LOOKS AND DEFINITE TALENT AND WHAT SHE CAN/COULD DO...SHE'S SIMPLY AWESOME...IF THEY HAD "DANCING WITH THE STARS" BACK IN HER STAGE DAYS...NO DOUBTS...SHE'D HAVE BLOWN THEM ALL OFF THAT DANCE FLOOR...
I was so blessed to see ANN~MARGRET Live in Las Vegas during this show and also at Cesars Palace ⭐️ amazing and so beautiful and wonderful in dancing & singing and of course acting in movies ! A real talent and the most exciting show I’d ever seen in Las Vegas ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have saw her shows and met Ann-Margret back stage twice. In 2005 & 06 in Vegas. She had to be in late 60's then. She was very sweet and friendly. Got pictures of us together. Her shows were wonderful. Of course she didn't have the pep like she did here. She had to hang on to her dancers for balance. But she was still wonderful.
This was just months after she fell 25 feet off the stage. 40 years ago and still going strong on Ray Donovan. At the time Ann-Margret was the Queen of the Las Vegas strip and winner of entertainer of the year. Her dance numbers have always been show stoppers. My Favorite 1964 Viva Las Vegas and 1980 on the George Burns special "Hold Me Squeeze Me", the B side of her disco hit "Everybody Needs Somebody Sometimes".
Ann Margaret is an interesting actor. First time I saw her in "A Streetcar Named Desire". She was very touchable and very nice Blanche DuBois. Ann Margaret is so talented woman!
I can still remember when Streetcar aired. I was in the service and a bunch of the guys came over to watch it. Most of them had no idea who Ann-Margret was. I remember so clearly when she delivered her line to the Newspaper boy, "You make my mouth water", I did a quick scan around the room. Every single guy was transfixed on that TV and every one of them had their mouths open. We laughed about it later. I always said Ann-Margret should write a book about being sexy at any age and still be a lady. And, by the way, let's hear it for the Walter Painter dancers. They worked their butts off and when she was on the stage, nobody saw them.
I just love this , she reminds me so much of me when I was young ,bc i dressed like her and i danced like her in the club's, i had that funk, and could out dance allot of ppl and won dancing contest even wet tee shirt contest, lol just to prove it to this girl that thought was better then me in everthing, lol I like was 16 or 17 and I think she's in her 30s here, she's so flipping amazing, she's very talented, i love her she was like fine win got prettier in time, truly she did and is for being in her 80s, they called her the sex kittin that's when Elvis fell inlove with her, he's my favorite man of all times, even today I've never met any man more handsome or can sing as good as him in all genres, 🗣🎶🎙🎸🕺💃💕🌬💘👣👀
A truly good woman in every sense of the world. Any man should be so lucky to have a stunningly beautiful woman who is faithful and loving through anything and everything. Roger Smith has been ill for many years now with myasthenia gravis.
@@lisarose7138 Nice internalized patriarchy, calling other women "trashy." Also ironic because Elvis never had sex again with Priscilla once she was a mother and had a revolving door of affairs. Both Priscilla and A-M deserved better than Elvis!
I liked her better when she first came out and her hair was naturally dark and her face wasn't as long. Sometimes Hollywood gets it wrong on advising their female stars to lighten their hair. I see why people like her though - she has enormous energy.
I believe she thought of Elvis Presley and everything she did. There's a difference after his death. I love you and Margaret and you were right Rodger could take care of you and he loved you and we have different loves for different people. Josie from Rochester New York. Even so come Lord Jesus. We're all one family
@@delladawn1149 I also heard he did go see her live sat in audiences as a normal man yes I heard he did go see Ann ALOT in person and gave her flowers as a shape of a guitar I BELEIVE " he wanted her to give up show biz and marry him she said as much I love you Elvis I won't give it up for no body " this is was I heard read " he didn't want any man kissing or touching her " he told her this " would Elvis gave it up for Ann Margret if she had asked him ? Hmm? I doubt it right " but they were deeply in love he married his first wife for many wrong reasons ? I'm sure he loved her " but he was in deep love w Ann Margret she deeply adored loved Elvis yes " she was is a independent woman for sure amen this is all I heard read yes "
George Masters was her hairdresser and he is the guy who made Dustin Hoffman into “Tootsie”... truly a master at his trade! Ann Margret is a beautiful woman. Inside and out
@@08pixiedust He was a close friend and mentor of a close friend of mine. Both were true artisans. Glamorous, elegant looks were his forte. The book your mom had entitled " The Masters Way to Beauty" was really a cool read! You are right, gossip and his techniques intertwined.
A-M had a couple of classic movies to her credit at this point, including a Oscar nomination, with another one to follow shortly. God Bless both of them. Youth!
But I would not kick Britney out of my room though. I would make her wear the same clothes as in that video "Slave for you",and she must sing and perform it for me.Actually, she wouldn't even have to sing it,she could mime or not even bother moving her lips at all. Dance for me
Come on man,no way.I'm not saying Ann wasn't the sexier one,she bloody was/is as demo'd in that green top scene, haha, but more sex appeal in one nostril?! No.So you are telling me that if you watch that video "Slave for you",you don't see/catch any sexiness there? You's lot are mad then, also the one where she's a cabin crew girl,'Toxic' I think, she looked sexy in that.Maybe i'm blind or you lot are just being too extra..Honestly,this is my fifth/sixth scene so far of Ann,haha, since I first saw her dance at half eight this morning in the scene with green top and black leggings. That rules so far, followed by where she's singing that.."Squeeze me.."? song in the sexy red dress, dancing sexily too. Yes,i'm trying to go through all her scenes. Anyway,Britney's a good looking girl and sexy too.I'm not a Britney defender or anything but I will try and preserve some common sense :p Just for your info. Christina Milian in that 'Dip it Low' video, watch that and tell me it's not sexy... So three, just three modern ones I can think of that have sex appeal:p ...There must be others..anyway,more Ann please..
Ok.. pero yo jamas escuché de algun exito de ella... Cómo si de diana rose. De Karen de the carpenters... De tina Turner... No he escuchado una canción suya
It's called charisma many can sing and dance better but she has charisma and stage presence. And she is a sweetheart in person unlike most of today's trashy so-called celebs.
Hi Lisa-- It's because she has it all: it starts with impressive singing talent, excellent dance skill and charisma for days. Add to that a gorgeous face, a sizzling body, some of the best hair in the history of Hollywood, and stunning sex appeal (on par with Marilyn Monroe and Rita Hayworth). Finish it off with major acting talent (Have you seen her Oscar-nominated performance in Carnal Knowledge? She is truly extraordinary in that sad and anxious role.) and it puts her amid the very tippity top on the list of the greatest stars who have ever lived. I'm curious--in what department do you find her lacking? Cheers! Christopher
