Laila was the face of women's boxing at that time and she could have fought ANYBODY that she chose to, It was obvious that she wanted no part of Ann Wolfe. Just because Laila beat Mahfood and Mahfood beat Wolfe doesn't mean Laila beats Wolfe, boxing just doesn't work that way. If it did then George Foreman should have crushed Ali like he did Frazier and Norton, both of whom beat Ali. The bottom line is Wolfe was Laila's main rival and her biggest challenge, and she CHOSE not to fight her.
I can agree that Leila did duck Ann, but to say that she handpicked fighters. I find that hard to believe since almost all 24 opponents had winning records and were championship contenders and only 3 were able go the distance. Not to mention that she dismantled Valerie in two fight bouts. Yes Ann is a beast but I don't know why people are saying she would dominate Laila soooo easily.
I think Laila did duck Ann but Laila claims she’d fight Ann now for free she really thinks she can beat her. She has confidence like her dad but Ann is powerful . Laila would have to stay on her bicycle and dance stick and move and not get caught with a power shot. It would’ve been a fight I’d be happy to pay for
I mean just look at the two fighters Laila really had her way kinda paved I'm not saying for a second that Laila didn't earn her record she's extremely talented but Ann Wolff quite frankly is grid Iron tough didn't have the life Laila did was forced to scratch and claw her way to success if I could quote Burgess Merrideth in Rocky III she'll knock you into tomorrow Laila you can run but you can't hide stay retired its safer !
we watched for years as anne wolfe pursued laila ali, ali ducked her at every opportunity, anne would have destroyed her, and showed the world who was the real champ. who did ali beat, bums, anne wolfe beat evevryone, the top fighters in the world fell to her power, the last fight ali fought was an overwieght christy martin, big deal.
When you go out of your way to DUCK your main rival you haven't PROVEN anything except the fact that you're a coward. Laila ducked Ann for years and like Ann said, everyone knows it.
@DhymezIzDatNigah you say ann won a lot of fights by intimidation the only intimidation is the beat down they get in the ring and that goes for laila. aint nothing to it but to do it
@mrsamhawkins1 ann didnt come along at the wrong time it just that someone came along to finally call laila out and if you take a really good look at it ali is riding on her dads name and she has never had any real fight but with old people and a few of the titles she has she did not fight for they were made up for her and she didnt think it was the wrong time when she agreed to fight the top fighter and when ann came out on top she backed out

Anne Wolfe great condition trainer and a good trainer, what ever she lacks in the boxing game,pops that older guy who's always with her will show her the rest of the boxing game. she's doing just fine with Kirkland, hast makes wast, she just needs two or three more half ass good fighter and them you boxing fans out they would be calling her the female Freddie Roach of boxing. now as for her and Laila, Laila wins

@chadnovelli I dont believe none of that bullsh*t thats just like Muf**kas thought Floyd was scared to fight Mosely and you see what happened with that, after Manny's trainer said clear as day quote "Who's he gonna fight cause he wont fight Mosely". if Anne couldnt neutralize that over hand right of Laila it woulda been lights out for her ass too cause Wolf doent have any head movement or foot work. She won alotta fights off intimidation from opponents!
excuse me but umm, i think (not exactly sure) that Ann Wolfe may be able to knock out a lot of MALE BOXERS, her skills are too good for female league, a BOXER is a BOXER, female boxing is just a circus, I know men & woman are diff but biological structures of different RACES are diff, you don't see them breaking eachother apart in diff groups, tho. do you?
@the13r Very true. Lucia Riker is just way too small to have a chance at Ali. Riker is a feather weight and Ali is a full fledge middleweight. She's 162lbs.
