As a singer, I can tell you that's about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. It becomes competitive, and the quality (and often volume) just soars.
Me sorprendió que los tres intérpretes estuvieran tan risueños durante la ejecución de un aria dramática. Luego pensé que los que les motivaba la risa era algo relacionado con la carpeta de la partitura. Tenían una sola para los tres y se la veía muy usada y con papeles pegados para marcar las hojas.Parecía la carpeta de un ensayo más que la de una presentación ¿Habrían olvidado o perdido sus carpetas para el concierto?. Tal vez el buen humor fue una manera de superar el inconveniente. Lo importante es que los tres se lucieron en la parte vocal y que su actitud no desentonó dado el clima relajado del concierto. No puedo opinar de la pronunciación del francés por parte de la soprano ni del barítono, pero Kauffman ha sido elogiado en varias ocasiones por franco parlantes por su pronunciación y conocimiento del francés.
Lamentable la voz dura de la soprano, de principio al final. Empujada con mucha PRESION del aire. Escasa ARMONIA entre las 3 voces.... Me dá mucha pena.
Could they not afford to have three books so that each could have one? This is hysterical to watch, but really it's not that bad. The French needs a lot of work, but other than that, I loved it. You could tell that at the end they were so happy to have this over and done with. LOL
C'est certes pas mal, mais tout de même, cela fait un peu "brut de décoffrage", style "je donne des décibels et des aigus, et appréciez ! Gounod est quand même plus subtil. Certes, le finale de Faust est forte et puissant, mais tout de même, il demande une diction impeccable (ce qui n'est pas le cas ici) et exige de ne pas hurler les notes. Faust, c'est un opéra puissant et haut sur le plan technique, cela ne signifie nullement qu'il requiert des braillards.
Thanks God Jonas Kaufman is a bit saving this awesome piece of art from a total disaster … What a shame : come on… they need a book to sing the most famous final of one of the most legendary Opera ? They actually don’t sing : they shout ! Just seems they want to expediate this part as fast as they can. No nuance, no interpretation… this is bad. Very bad
Save yourself time. Don't watch these clowns. Find the 1986 rendition with Carol Vaness, Jerry Hadley and James Morris, and watch the respect this piece deserves.
Omg....some pf the highest paid opera singers in the world and nobody thought of bringing three scores if they already need them... 🙉🙉🙉 pronounciation and interpretation very weak ... I feel second hand shame for them, sorry :(((
Die drei Herrschaften samt Orchester bemühten sich redlich, leider ganz ohne Erfolg, denn dieses Finale ist für alle hier Beteiligten wohl eine Nummer zu groß. Die Aufnahme mit Sutherland, Corelli & Ghiaurov liegt qualitativ Lichtjahre entfernt vor der hier vorgetragenen Darbietung.
