Bambi...this scores in national competitions not are important in ranking for ISU. For that all national competitions Russian, Us, Japan, Canadian, etc are overscored. Don't worry about score in skaters, the only important is the place.

@@Catalina_Estevez One correction. Unlike Russia and US., Japan always underscores their own skaters at the Nationals, especially on their top skaters. Each country has its own corruptions and politics, and either way, it's a joke.

@@jtkomet underscored Japan??? Not, check NHK trophy 2020 and the last National... Her top skaters(ladies and men) had a great scores. This is normal because they (and in other countries) want to support their favorites skater in ISU competitions. In all countries, always this is it.

To be fair it’s not really about deserving. Bc its all on how you perform on the spot. I feel like going for the 3a was a bad move. She should’ve done a triple triple combo or something for her SP.

@@mogumochi triple-triple or something? You can only do one jump combination, a required 2A or 3A, and a single non-axel triple jump. She couldn’t do something other than those. And she’s got nothing to lose if she adds a 3A and fall on it, as long as she rotates it (which she does), because she’s getting 4 points for it anyway, still higher than the base value of 2A of 3.3.

And it’s not all.. after Sasha landed 5 quads and had much better technique than Anna and.. she lost at Oly, she was crying. I think it’s obvious that she was disappointed in sport because as professional she can easily estimate quality of Anna performance and hers. So after this all Russian tv started witch hunt on Sasha, calling her hysterical and so on, blaming her for her tears… I can’t believe how powerful is Eteri and her team, I’m so disappointed and disgusted about nowadays Russian FS under Eteri.

Some would call it mistakes and poor form, but others would argue that at the end of the day they're still landing their jumps well.

@@bcthoburn Isn't it a reason why the GOE was intorduced though? To distinguish between jumps that are only landed and those that don't have mistakes? Cause no falling doesn't mean that the jump was landed well. It means there won't be a deduction for falling and that it will bring points (if the zayak rule wasn't broken), but some points, not almost perfect mark for a jump that was far far away from a perfect one.

I am a skater at a lower level (currently performing all double jumps in competition) and I get negative goe all the time! The jump could be perfectly good and still get no plus or minus. So it really frustrated me when these skaters don't get any calls on their jumps

i was generally surprised how sasha got third with such technical content (even 4-3 cascade). i do understand her artistic points and choreography are lower, but the difference of total FS points between sasha and kamila is crazy to me.

@@anastasiia6681 but that's the way you're being scored when Eteri is your coach. Sasha and Aliona knew the judges will be much harsher since they went to Plushenko. It's not fair, but corruption was always a huge part of figure skating, it's nothing new

The debate has been going on for a very long time, and you know what everyone's main argument is? In Russia, the main source of high GOE is the REPUTATION of the athlete. Shcherbakova has always been almost the leader of the national team and at that time was a two-fight champion of Russia. The judges judged her softly because they kept her titles in mind. And now let's look at Sasha: the transition to Plushenko and the desire for technicality, the correctness of jumps. Judges don't like that.

It's very sad, but Sasha is really underestimated. And after the Olympics, she will continue to underestimate them.

in Russia, the judges do not like Sasha Trusova and always removed her as much as possible from the road. when they put her in 2nd place at her first Russian championship with a large technical base in 2019, the difference with Anya was 0.06 points, which is very sad. they didn’t even want to send her to the Olympics. when it came to not sending Anya to the Olympics, the figure skating federation was indignant, talking about her former titles. but the federation never remembered Sasha's titles and always underestimated her. Of course, she could have taken at least silver at the last Russian Championship, but due to the bias of the judges towards her coaching staff, she was lowered below the junior. at this national championship, Shcherbakova was overestimated and she clearly did not deserve 3rd place with such a dirty skate. if Sasha had skated like that, she would not have been sent to Europe either. it all depends on the attitude of the judges to the athlete, so Tuktamysheva never got to the Olympics. in this Olympic season, she had a chance and the bronze of the National Championship clearly belongs to her, but Shcherbakova was again overestimated for her former titles. if we talk about titles, then Tuktamysheva also has them. and the last World Championship was clearly won by right not by Anya, but by Lisa. but alas, everyone is silent, he thought that the national selection was the most accurate, although this is not at all the case. how many beautiful Russian figure skaters were kicked out by biased judges. it is very sad

Yeah I like her skaters but the cheated jumps have always been a problem in that camp and I wondered over time why they never bothered fixing it until you see the judging panel every competition and realize they're not bothering to give them an incentive to change it.

Cause she isn’t here for the sport or quality, she is here for the money and the fame, every skater is disposable cause they are others behind willing to win no matter about cheating, injuries or your overall mental health

I'd say that it's the judging system that pushes coaches and skaters towards quads with bad technique, not the other way round.

@@mollyoirsghois as far as I know they don't have to tell the exact content. Moreover, some skaters after mistake can try to do a jump in another part of the program. Also some skaters have unusual jump entrance (for example as Sofia Samodelkina, she has a classical entrance for Lutz but then she rotates and jumps 3A). So I think in Anna's case, judges just considet one a 4lutz and another a 4flip no matter on what Anna really jumps.

At least, Trusova received penalties from the judges. Shcherbakova made twice more mistakes but she received the highest goe. ISU is corrupted.

Really enjoyed anna’s performance on russian nationals as well, but her lutz and flip are just weird, especially the floop. Despite really enjoying her as a skater, I think if the technical scores were correct, she wouldn’t have won

But we shouldn't be scoring on aesthetics only. Otherwise this would be a subjective competition with invalid scores. Also Anna's flailing/helicopter arms before a jump speaks of her poor technique and to me, looks terribly bad.

Not only figure skating, but also artistry, but also technology. So you need to give the geo straight.

@@Bambi469 Agree. Anna’s lutz is aesthetic, but Sasha’s technique is better. Judges have to see that Anna’s lutz is not perfect, and call the edge an ! at least, like they did a Cup of China last season. It’s beautiful and has much flow, but here it’s not what counts.

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but she is one of the best figure skaters. I don’t think it’s fair to have everyone criticizing her when some people can’t even skate.

@@lauraa9600 because landing of a jump makes it more good looking in realtime than take off? URed jump looks worse than prerotated jump - in real time. Spectators views performance in real time. Judges gives GOEs in real time too. Noone gonna change the system so that performance can be penalized heavily after being visibly good and gathering loud applaises and acclaim of spectators - else it will be bad marketing strategy. Figure skating is not only sport - it is a show to a degree - and making it too strict will make figure skating even less popular that it is now.

@@ingaiskhakova8123 Yeah, I know. Her spins are not good. But like.. I think It is not that crusial in fs . Look at the men spins, they are much worse in it even though they can stretch and perform that elements too. The edges and toe assistance on jumps are also basics, which Should be performed by every skater. If you cant do that so get lower scores or avoid that jump. But judges are not objective and close their eyes on that mistakes. Liza is not heavy, she is mature, she is not a kid anymore. She can jump 4 toe loop with that weight, so it is not the real problem. The main idea that she has CLEAR jumps. I dont care how her body looks until she performs it clearly, without such a stupid mistakes. And I wish that judges will account true jumps like Lizas with more goe than prerotated flutz... I did not say anything about spins evaluation. These are pretty okay and evident

Anna defo has a very beautiful and tight air position, she also does not hunch as much on the landing, so indeed her quads look more appealing

@@hannibaljustincase9985 agree. Anya's height and air position were incredible. Also, Anya's landing position is stronger with free leg almost >90 degree to the ice and she held the position. Sasha's landing need improvement because the free leg didn't have any extension and it immediately touched the ice (she didnt hold it) Edit: about the landings, I meant it applied to every jump not only the ones in the video.

Anna's lutz looks like she's flying in the air! Then again it's hard to say there's no bias in the judging here considering the fact that they were willing to overlook Anna's mistakes by giving her a really high GOE while Trusova received a GOE of 0 from one of the judges
