I visit Heaver Castle in 2013. Its a great estate and in one of the halls you can see Henry`s six wives,included Henry, all in wax. Fantastic rooms in good state. The Labyrinth garden is fantastic.

I saw this movie in 1969, and I totally remembered that it starred Genevieve Bujold, but completely forgot, or never noticed at all, that Henry was played by Richard Burton!

When I watched it the first time, I cried when Anne was climbing the scaffold. I watched it a second time and cried during the scenes where Anne was in the Tower. It's a very good video.

to be honest, I believe Anne didn't love Henry in the beginning, but grew to love him later when he no longer loved her.

I feel a weird fasination for her story. I think she's one of the most influent woman of all the time. Her existence changed the story of England (with Elizabeth) ergo changed the story of the world.

We question who did the best Anne Boleyn (Bujold compared to Dormer or even Portman) but no one thinks of Burton's Henry in the same breath as Laughton, Shaw or Meyers.

Im Grunde ist das eine Horrorgeschichte. Mich berührt sie sehr, aber trotzdem ist sie grausam... Ein junges Mädchen liebt einen jungen Mann, der ihr genommen wird, der auch nicht stark genug ist, sich gegen die Familie zu stellen - was für eine Enttäuschung, was für ein Schmerz für Anne! Dann stalkt sie ein unersättlicher König, den sie einfach nicht los werden kann, egal, was sie sagt oder tut! Und der wohl dafür gesorgt hat, dass sie ihre Liebe verloren hat. Natürlich versucht sie irgendwann das Spiel zu ihren Bedingungen zu spielen und gewinnt die Krone. Aber sie gekommt keinen Sohn, das ist ihr Verbrechen! Der König weiß, dass er nach der Vorgeschichte sie nicht anders loswerden kann, als wenn sie stirbt. Also lässt er sich was einfallen... Arme Anne. Ob sie Henry zwischenzeitlich geliebt hat? Bestimmt. Aber das macht das ganze umso schlimmer. 😢
