If only they both would have continued singing it would have been even more awesome (Kelly stopping & then restarting in the middle of the song was so pathetic for an actual professional singer)... But even though 1 had to stop (because Kelly couldn't realize that they were both right & not just her) Anne's singing made it awesome no matter what Kelly did over the top of it... But seriously...how do you listen to Anne singing that...later on acknowledge that you knew what song she was singing ("were you singing Under Pressure?")...& not realize it is the "right" song*** & not just continue with your part? ***Or even if Anne was singing the wrong song...who cares...just continue with your part... Don't ever stop in the middle of a performance & start over in the middle of the musical part that has kept going.

@@shireads2954 I mean.. she didn't look any older than Gaston.... 🤣🤣🤣 I actually think Anne Hathaway would've looked more Gaston's age than Emma Watson..
With all due respect that performance was horrid. I don't blame people with no music background thinking "ugly crying and screaming" was very Emotional and Good. But she risked permanently damaging her voice with that role and it shows. The director was an amateur who thought he was doing something innovative by getting the actors to sing live on set. For Every. Single. Take. This is horrible for vocal health. As an example, opera singers sometimes don't even sing all the way through rehearsal because they know it'll be damaging long-term if they do too much vocally demanding parts in one day. Onto another reason why her performance sounded terrible. No professional singer cries during a singing performance because it causes them to a. lose control over their breath and b. get their vocal chords coated in phlegm. It's good for Oscar bait and not much else. If they wanted her to cry they should've made the song into a soliloquy. Make her talk instead of subjecting us to whatever that was. The whole point of musical theatre is to tell a story through music. The characters' most intense emotions are conveyed through song. If the music is going to take a backseat to the tears and the visuals, why bother singing at all? At that point the music is background music and singing is a distraction. The worst part it, the general public totally gave Les Mis (2012) a pass, which resulted in a worse musical movie shot with the same concept by the same director... Cats (2019). We as an audience really need to stop letting the film industry get away with awful, low quality "art" like this. We're nothing more than cash cows to them. Why let them think we don't know shit and keep letting them insult our intelligence? We have to be able to tell when art is objectively lazy and bad, and to let them know that we know. Otherwise the movie market WILL end up saturated with shameful cash grabs like Les Mis. P.S. C'mon the singing in this clip was karaoke night level. We need to stop with the celebrity worship. Stop hyping a celebrity every time they get a B on a project, we're better than this!
@@bitchlasagna5897 I respect that you don't give a shit, but please don't speak for everyone. Some works of art mean certain things to some people. Which is the whole point of creating and sharing art. If you personally don't care, you can always choose not to read critique and go your merry way. That's forever and always an option you're free to take.
@@rebekahwebster3104 so when did she scat? Because I'm pretty sure she sang. I could be wrong I'm no musician. But the definitions I've seen refer to jazz and singing to imitate an instrument.
@@DuckBoxHouse two definitions on relation to music 4 definitions in total. And nothing in this video met any of those 4 definitions in my opinion. However this could be considered a skit. Follow my logic now?
They were singing different songs, one is ice ice baby’s the other is pressure pushing down on me idk the names but those are the lyrics. The ice baby one came out after the other one
@@GoofyGavsVids same music (literally note for note)... Ice stole it (that's what you call it when no credit is given to the original artist) from Queen & Bowie...who did the original song called "Under Pressure".
She wasn't questioning her confidence...she heard what Anne was singing & thought Anne was making a mistake & singing the wrong song...so she stopped to ask, "Am I wrong?"... & Then implied Anne was wrong by saying, "I AM right" (ironically...right after Anne sung the line, "no man has fault") before continuing (oops...not continuing...that would be professional...she actually started over in the middle of the song...thus why Anne ended before her...because Anne's part was over & Kelly needed to catch up because she restarted). IOW...she was questioning whether she was singing the right song...not her confidence.
@@luvely1062 I just like how they both kept going, with each song in production with identical beats and accepted as their own songs... Impromptu mashup was not expected!
@@Faolan161 but "they" didn't keep going... It would have been much better had Kelly just kept on singing & the 2 parts were done in perfect unison to the actual music. Instead we had most of the instruments dropping off because their parts were over too & just the percussion carrying on at the end.
Okay now I need an entire version of Anne Hathaway singing Under Pressure by David Bowie and Freddie mercury with Kelly Clarkson rapping Ice Ice Baby over it.
Kelly was right. There's a very tiny difference between Under Pressure and Ice Ice Baby. Vanilla ice added an additional note on the "and" of the fourth beat, which is what the band was playing.
@@iloveplumpgrannies174 clarification: Kelly needs polishing... Anne nailed a pitch perfect on time all lyrics perfect performance... Zero polish required for Anne... she's couldn't have shined any brighter in that performance...polish would have just dulled the performance... The professional singer though...yeah...she needs some polish.
@@chaosh7040 "all lyrics." I mean, she botched the first line, but ok. Tell me you don't know the lyrics to under pressure without _TELLING ME_ you don't know the lyrics.
I'm stunned by so many things! First off,I had NO CLUE Anne Hathaway could sing like that!! I was already blown away and then that mash up!!! It's like those songs have been enemies for so long you never imagined them together!!!

That moment you feel irritated when you can’t hear yourself sing when someone else is singing something different than you but you play it off and still smile. I feel you Ann. Lol 😆
I see two top tier professional women. They are great working off each other and killing it, professionally. Irritated not them here in this clip but... maybe thats how projection works?
I watch this over and over and it never gets old. It’s brilliant!! @kellyclarkson and @annehathaway PLEASE do a remake of these two songs together. Like Kelly Sandy…Collaborate and listen!!❤❤❤
