I think the real Anne Boleyn would’ve been flattered to know she would be portrayed with such grace and dignity by Bujold, herself a true French beauty.

There's one thing untrue you've written in thst 1 sentence. She's Canadian. Are you a Quebecois? Anne Boleyn was a scheming minx who plated a very dangerous game of manipulation and paid a dreadful price for it.

Bujold, who played Ann Boleyn in this film, reminds me (facially) so much of Judy Garland...!

So true , Natalie Dormer played Anne Boleyn very very well, this is the reason why i don't watch other movies about her or the tudors, because i can't imagine another actress in Anne Boleyn role

Henry viii was an obsessive man, that's why when he actually married her he got tired of her and went for Jane.

On this day in 1969 {December 18th} the movie "Anne of the Thousand Days", starring Richard Burton, had its world premier in the U.S.A. Two months later on February 23rd it had its Royal Command premier in London, England... It was nominated for 10 Academy Awards; but won only one {'Best Costume Design' for Margaret Furse}... R.I.P> Mr. Burton {1925 - 1984} and Ms. Furse {1911 - 1974}...

Despite the French accent (which I am sure she didn't have) Ms Bujold is still my favourite screen Anne Boleyn, although the 2 Natalies were very good and Jodhi May was equally compelling.

The real Anne was brought up in the French court so it is not unlikely that she did have a soft French accent .

Henry was obsessed with having sons, not only because of England but, his brain was in a state of deterioration due to having syphilis. That also explains why the girls lived and the boys, other than Edward, who held on until twelve years, died at birth. The female embryo is stronger, which is why he had two living girls and dead sons.

This isn't a love story! It's a lust story! King Henry VIII had no authority from God to make himself Head of the church in England. If he didn't repent before he died, he is surely now in eternal Hell.

If he would burn in hell for anything, I'd like to believe that it would be for killing good men and innocent women. Not for leaving the Catholic Church (there are worse things people can do)
