and i never will understand, why such singers only getting 28.500 klicks in a half year and no voice bitches like grande, gomez, gaga, swift or cyrus that in a second...
@@seelenwinter6662 I wonder if it's because her talent is precious. In all seriousness. We are drawn to her in some deeply connective role that requires a quiet soul and presence to cling to every word and note. The "megahitters" are out there, loud, proud and in your face. Anne, lovingly and softly invites you to share in her inner self. I'm fumbling bady here. Trying to figure out her magnetism, the respect she is given, in an instant after humor and rowdiness... It's like that old addage about beautiful music soothing the savage beast. Those of us that are fortunate enough to be drawn under her spell - because she sings with a voice that is in harmony with your soul. It's indescribable, really.
wow, look at the audience, totally silence whilst the song, they don't want to miss any word of this angels voice. And I think everybody who ever find this video, was absolute silent along the song, too. I definitely was. She sang very beautiful, nobody wants to miss any second of it, cause she touched every human beings heart with this. Great job Anneke.
All laughter then sheer silence and a round of applause, you know, there aren't many musicians that give you that 'just listen' vibe and this was one of those.
You know, I didn't even think about that until I saw this comment and the one from badcactus72. Good point - An obnoxious audience could've ruined this beautiful work of art.
I just saw her sing this live last night at her concert in Philly. Our audience (full of metal heads mind you) was completely silent too. Her voice is so captivating and enchanting that it mesmerizes.
I really hope you go down the rabbit hole with her too! Songs I recommend where Anneke sings is Sand and Mercury, On Most Surfaces, Earth is My Witness, Travel, Herbal Movement. Do not do the live ones though, ima huge fan of hers but sometimes she tends to over do the vibrating voice thing in live settings.
Same... just same. His bandmates asked Chris who he was waiting on when he wrote that song and supposedly he said, "Death". This was his premeditation. I miss that man so much.
Wow she has such an angelic and such a beautiful voice she sings with so much passion and to stand there with just a mic and a acoustic guitar and deliver that kind of performance is TALENT
OMG, what a beautiful song and what a beautiful woman, inside and outside." I've listened to Chris Cornell a lot of years ago in Cologne with his band Audioslave.
Haunting! Captivating!! Anneke you are as lovely as you are talented!! Simply stunning version of this song!! Both the song and Chris Cornell are timeless as are you!!
Really getting into Devin Townsend at the moment and have only just discovered Anneke because of her collaborations with him.Holy shit! What an amazing talent she is. Her vocals gave me chills all through this song. I've got to see her live one day.
difficult to describe how much I've enjoyed her rendition of one of my favorite songs by one of my all time favorite singers... just awesome. actually nearly moved me to tears and that's not very easy
Just had the pleasure to see her solo performance in Montreal. It was a magical moment. Between each song, it was quite pleasant to hear her joke and have fun with the crowd. The moment she played a note, the entire venue became quiet and so attentive. It was surreal. She gave all the big metalheads quite a few goosebumps, including me! We did sing along many songs but somehow, everyone tried to keep the volume down haha. I've seen In Flames, Opeth, Muse, Metallica, Iron maiden, NIN, Janes Addiction, Dream Theater and hundreds more... Anneke is on a completely different level. I could have stood there silently enjoying her music for days. Do yourself a favor, go see her when she's near your town.
This woman has a lot of hype surrounding her. I wanted to check her out and this is the first song I've heard her sing. She is fantastic, beautiful voice!
If this was your first song, you should check out her other like 2000 songs... each one a masterpiece of its own, brilliant merely by that unique voice with its beauty not from this earth...
@@lizzyq7807 if you like Prog Metal, check her latest band, Vuur. If you like heavier and slower stuff, check The Gathering's Mandylion and If_Then_Else. You can listen to her voice in lots of features in other bands albums, like Amorphis, Moonspell, Novembers Doom, Ayreon, etc, etc.
@@doomedarts Not a big fan of prog. But i will check out her other stuff. I only discovered European metal approximately 1 year ago and i am 41. Metal in America SUCKS ASS! It's all comercialized and mainstream. I have been DYING for good new metal!!! I'm sick of all the good stuff from the 80s and 90s. European metal has many different bands with different sounds and A LOT of creativity! I still have SO MANY other bands to check out. Thanks for your suggestions! :)
I really hope you go down the rabbit hole with her too! Songs I recommend where Anneke sings is Sand and Mercury, On Most Surfaces, Earth is My Witness, Travel, Herbal Movement. On a cobweb afternoon In a room full of emptiness By a freeway I confess I was lost in the pages Of a book full of death Reading how we'll die alone And if we're good, we'll lay to rest Anywhere we want to go In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone And on my deathbed I will pray To the gods and the angels Like a pagan to anyone Who will take me to heaven To a place I recall I was there so long ago The sky was bruised The wine was bled And there you led me on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone And on I read Until the day was gone And I sat in regret Of all the things I've done For all that I've blessed And all that I've wronged In dreams until my death I will wander on In your house, I long to be Room by room, patiently I'll wait for you there Like a stone I'll wait for you there Alone Alone
I don't get all the comparisons to Joan Baez. I like Joan, but there is no comparison here. Just because of the vibrato, possibly? Which to my certainly untrained ear, is so much more easily flowing, lilting, and no ego attached. While I enjoy some of Joan's music, the chip on her shoulder is always there, in every song and statement, with a cautionary message. Anneka is just easy and out there, no "cloaking devices," open, and as a waterfall - that creates a pool in which I wish to drown. Effortlessly. Sinking without so much as a bubble.
I was never a fan of Chris Cornell but no disrespect, may he rest in peace but I was absolutely blown away by this woman, she is amazing and beautifully talented. Thanks!
