Brilliant review, however the story and script were not by Carax, but by the pop-duo Sparks, who also wrote the music. Much credit must be given to them for creating this unique film.
@@SUAVEcritic I think Sparks and Carax really were a perfect artistic match. They share a sensiblity for the absurd and the outrageous, and for human frailty as well. And despite their penchant for the artificial, they are very sincere artists. Annettes very grave and touching message is a testament to that.
@@stellwegleestvoor3562 Yep! It also managed to be a rare blessing for the film that the musical geniuses had equal, if not more, liberty than the director to shape and mould the story...
