Talk about mind-blowing, every time I get a wild hair to see what's up with SWTOR, the skill/talents look COMPLETELY different! From OG WoW-style talent trees, to a select-as-you-level pattern, and now multiple choices at level milestones 0_0 -_- 0_0
I think Anni is actually in a really good spot right now. It's not doing Hatred levels of DPS, but it also has probably the best utility of any DPS spec in the game save for maybe Pyro. Anni IMO is the only Marauder spec worth playing in high level content right now if you're focused on pure performance. I haven't touched Fury since the week 7.2 dropped, and I was curious how a parse goes, in 336 gear, I can hit 31.2K with Anni, I'm struggling to get 30.1K on Fury. I refuse to touch Carnage though because I think it's a toxic spec. All that being said, it wouldn't surprise me if the devs give a slight DPS buff to Fury when they do the next round of balance changes. The nerf bat is coming for Hatred next IMO, the execution phase DPS is just broken.
I just discovered your channel randomly watching a 'Rage Quitting Gaming' video. Great Vid; Keep it up! If you came out with a current SWTOR guide for all Classes, you would gain a chunk of followers that have been left behind following the exodus of many of our regular RU-vid SWTOR PVP Lords. RQG I feel like is one foot out the door from swtor and MarkBiggs has already left, who was a main SWTOR PVP Guru. Pouring out some for those two..
Nice one Ronin! Was thinking of starting a Marauder character....So between Fury, Annihilation & Carnage, which would be the easiest to play with the most damage output?
Fury - Static rotation with decent DPS Carnage - Static rotation with decent DPS but harder to play IMO Annihilation - Hardest of the 3 specs, most involved, RNG dependent, not a static rotation, but by far the best in terms of performance.
It's relatively hard to say what would really be the easiest to play with the most damage output. Marauder unfortunately right now requires "mastering" to a degree to get the desired outcome with your DPS. The more time you put into one of the specs, the better you're going to do. Each spec has its downside that requires overcoming in the 7.2 update. The best thing for you to do is to practice a rotation as much as possible, find ways to recover rotation position if you lose your spot because of mechanics or swapping targets, and keep at it. I promise if you put in the work, the better you'll be. Classic practice makes perfect.
to clarify that vicious slash is a "filler", all of the vicious slashes you see are filler. They can be any number of abilities. The rotation you're seeing is the ideal setup, not something you're going to do 100% of the time due to fury and rage built/available. Fury/Rage management is very important.
Hate to be 'that guy' but is it possible to write a synopsis of the utilities and opener/rotation please? I will absolutely watch the whole video but having something quick to copy/paste would be amazing. Thanks!
I would, but you'd be getting a college essay. The important part about the utilities is combine draining center with bleeding center. As for the opener/rotation, for now, do your best to follow the video. I am looking to do a more in depth break down video of Annihilation, this guide is more "here's how I'm playing Annihilation right now and if you can copy that awesome".
Anni isn’t a rotation it’s a priority unfortunately. Especially now with the way everything works together. You get lucky or you don’t. If he gave you a copy/paste, you’d fail or get confused or both. The best option is to watch the video and understand what’s happening and why it’s happening and try to replicate those scenarios as best you can while also learning to adjust when luck isn’t in your favor.
@@thegamingronin Thank you for the reply. I guess I'm just frustrated that the devs 'simplifying' the spec just made it worse. I find the parses very wildly. Sometimes RNG blesses me with a high parse, otherwise it doesn't. Finding it hard to maintain 30k on a dummy with R-4 gear, plus I'm a bit stubborn about changing my opener. Currently using Leap > Overload > Zealous > Merciless > Zen+Melt > Cauterise > TSS > Slash > priority. I will try and open with your new suggested opener. But tbh the 'old' rotation isn't awful, but it isn't great, either. I love the spec but it's frustrating knowing faceroll Guardians or Vanguards can parse more with half the effort. Ty Bioware!
@@rhysthomas2876 I get the frustration. Pre 7.2 anni/watchman was in a very good spot and honestly didn't need so many changes. I am working on a more cohesive guide that hopefully will make things more understandable. The biggest hurdle for veteran anni/watchman players is dealing with the RNG which is why I suggest using devastating vengeance to increase critically hitting for both rage and fury gain.
For the most part annihilation is. You can play the other specs and do fine and even out dps Annihilation, but Anni brings more raid utility than the other two do which is why you'll see Anni used more often.
Yes and no. I'm pretty well versed in Marauder because its what I primarily play, pretty much only play. I would only make a guide for a class I know well enough and am using competently enough. I can make other class guides but I'd essentially be talking out my ass at which point I'm just doing everyone a disservice. If I do make a guide for other classes it won't be for a long while besides Vengeance Jugg which I do use now and again and consider very easy to play.
I don't think I'd ever really do a straight up tier list. There are classes that are better than others but you can have experts that can absolutely destroy a better class without even thinking. It really comes down to the amount of time you dedicate to learning your craft. Some classes are just top tier and require almost no effort to use, but that doesn't mean they can't be beaten.
My first time watching him. There seems to be a requirement to either have watched his videos before or to have extensive class knowledge. He mentioned multiple times that we should already know certain things. Either because he covered it before or because of our experience with the class. Im not a fan of that assumption. Its not helpful.
Sadly Annihilation is simply complicated. I've been working on a master class of sorts to address the issue but as of today the 7.3 PTS class changes were announced that change things for Annihilation once again. And the prospects are looking great for once for us Anni enjoyers. Which also means anything I put out now rotation wise will be useless once 7.3 comes out. So I'm going to hold on for 7.3 and test the changes as they can change a lot of things with how Annihilation works. Unfortunately I did rush this guide out and I wasn't very happy I didn't get everything I wanted to cover covered for the newer annihilation players.
