WIENER BLUT, the last operetta by Johann Strauss was staged at the Estonian National Opera in 1994 and remained in the repertoire of the theatre for almost 15 years. It was directed by MONIKA WIESLER, a beloved guest from Wiener Volksoper who brought real Viennese atmosphere to our northern capital. This recording is made in February of 2004. ANNIKA TÕNURI (1961-2009) is singing Countess Zedlau, baritone VÄINO PUURA (born in 1951) the Count, HANS MIILBERG (1945-2020) plays the Prime Minister and JANNE ŠEVTŠENKO is performing the dancer and the mistress of the Count, Franziska Cagliari. The orchestra is conducted by Jüri Alperten.
