"...so I've got enough workers to go inside the sausage factory so my pigs can finally start actually doing something productive." Full MATN score for vague grammar, plus double points for a sentence that no matter how you read it, it ends up being somewhere between dark humour and dystopia.
@@FunkyFyreMunky No. You build an empire by warmongerin places that were NOT empty. And remain the only former colonial power which is openly proud and not ashamed of that monstrous colonial past (Zulu). Which doesn't stop you at all from lecturing other nations on their history.
Plays game of tropical island management, avoids violent overthrow of the regime of 'El Presidente'. Plays nice Industrial Revolution city builder, triggers birth of the Supreme Soviet in an English colony...
1. Don't increase productivity since it massively increases unhappiness 2. Shut down businesses such as brick and steel during worker shortages so critical industries have workers to avoid a death spiral
Yeah, perhaps forcing those production chains to work at 50% more effectiveness probably didn't help... That and the mass expansion of people without taking into account the production of basic goods.
We peacefully demand, in a gentlemanly well-mannered persuasive occurrence, more! John, we want a series of your dictating methods. Livestream is good, but this is worthy of a main channel series. Take it from me, a random person on the internet taking the time to write this message because I'm procrastinating.
They riot because you told them to work 25% more. Just leave that alone, works for me. TIPS: do a big cross of roads then put the market in middle, after that check how faar the roads get green, then make a square of the cross with the dark green in middle build your houses in the square. The stronger the green is the happy the people will be with the market. If you dont make enough bricks, there are more claypits on the island. Clothes and schnaps gets eaten up fast, so you have to make alot of those productions. Probably 6 of eatch in the beginning, then build on. Hope it helps. I really love this game. :D
Yeah John, I’d love to see you do a full attempt at this game! I would recommend doing the campaign if you do, as it’ll give you more focus with an interesting storyline to go along with it. As for the game itself, I’d suggest that you try not to speed your way down the production chains so rapidly. Anno is a generally laid back kinda game, so you wanna give your settlements time to grow and make sure you satisfy the needs of a lot of people at one level before moving onto the next. Don’t forget that the Workers also require all the needs of your Farmers too. So a Level 2 pop requires everything a Level 1 pop does AS WELL as the stuff for its Level 2 needs. And so on up the list. Feel free to use the blueprint mode (which is actually new in this game btw) to plan things in advance. Also, and I can’t stress this enough, you need to plan your warehouses carefully! You’d kinda worked this out yourself by the end of the episode, but each warehouse has a limit to how many carts it can load/offload at a time. When you first build it it’s 2, but you can upgrade it to 3 once you get your first Workers in, and again to 4 once you hit the next Pop type. So think carefully and plan ahead where you put things. You did at least get the brick road thing right, so I guess there’s that. Finally, in terms of previous anno games should you decide to have a look: Anno 2205: The previous Anno game before 1880, was quite different compared to previous titles in that it separated the City-building and Combat into different sectors. On the plus side however, you can build a city on the MOON! Anno 2070: Personally I think this is my favourite Anno game (although 1800 might dethrone it soon). I love the sci-fi aesthetic, and it was my first Anno game so I guess it’s special to me. Anno 1404: The earliest Anno game I’ve played. I know you’re a history buff, so you’ll probably get a kick out of it, although being the earliest game in the series it doesn’t have a lot of the Quality-Of-Life improvements that later games have. But if you can get past the slightly rough edges it’s a fine addition to the Anno series. Anyway, that’s enough for now. I’ll keep an eye out for more Anno from you in the future! Oymon
1404. Also, it was the fourth game in the series (or were you just saying the earliest of the ones you listed?) The others were 1503, 1602 and 1701 but I don't recall what order they were made.
Whoops, typo, well spotted. ^^And yeah, I know that 1404 was the 4th game in the series, I did mean that it was the earliest one I've played. I did actually say that. Also, according to Wiki, the order of their release is: 1602, 1503, 1701, 1404, 2070, 2205, 1800. ^^
@@willstoehr9979 very dumb interview response by Theresa May - when asked a question about something bad she had done (trying to humanize her) she said she ran through a nearby farmer's fields of wheat as a child and that probably annoyed the farmer. In other words another Tory who thinks they have never made a mistake.
@@TallDarknGruesome Well that's your point of view. Running through farmers fields is probably the most dangerous thing you can do in England. (as farmers often have licences for firearms.) Plus humanise. Please, we are English not heathens.
It's always a good day to see one of my favourite channels play one of my favourite game series. You should definitely take a look at the other Anno games if you get the opportunity; it's a delightful series and the videogame equivalent of immersing yourself in a warm bath with a lovely cup of tea. Until, you know, you end up going to war with everyone and start suffering massive food shortages as your townspeople start revolting and setting your cities on fire, but that's all part of the fun...
you never played anno? How about an Anno week like what you did back then with assassins creed? Also the road hotkey is probaply S for Straße, if you have not noticed this game is verry german.
I know that says "Content"( as in the Emotion ) Farmer, But i instinctively read it as "Content"(in the youtube media sense) . and i was like .... "oh my god .. that's a little early for that! that is crazy Meta.".... I should probably watch Jon's video's when i'm more awake.
@04:20 That's a very fancy warehouse! @06:44 Jon's bringing Smocksy back? "One more swing of the dice" No wonder its going wrong, Jon doesn't know how to use dice!
Words of Terror when spoken by Jon (pt 27) - "I'm going to assume that's a good idea." Okay, noob error, but 1:26 into a video and he is already doing things wrong.
Please do a live stream of this!!!! Can't believe you haven't, given the supply chains and trade routes, wouldn't think you could resist! Also 75% off for the spring sale (PSA).
It's too bad there isn't the option to bargain with the workers and try to remedy the problem. It makes no sense to have a revolution without a viable plan for afterwords. A very nice city builder! It's quite pretty and detailed compared to many others that I've seen. Fast and furious!
Yes please, I've been suggesting Banished for a LONG time. Don't make him do Colonial Charter right away though, let's see how well he deals with winter, food production, and tool shortages first. ;)
Not true, you can also buy it on uplay and seeing that you'll need to run it to start the game (even when the game is preorderd on steam) it doesn't really feel limiting to me. I'd prefer to not need any launcher but that's another discussion entirely
@@polishenglish8356 that might be a problem as they are no longer selling the game on steam and im not sure if "old" keys still work. But as Tief Op already said you'd have to use Uplay anyways even with the steam version so you might as well just go ahead and grab a Uplay key directly. The game is definitely worth getting.
14:11 Actually wool is naturally fire resistant, in fact it is what they make firemen uniforms from. So the pigs with their bare skin will most likely be more flammable.
The only Anno game I’ve ever played is an old one for the DS and it was still a hugely addictive city builder which I now stay away from because whenever I come back to it I loose the next week of my life.
Jon, separate industry and habitats since pollution is a factor. Check sphere of influence of buildings and build accordingly to maximize the effect. You are going to be spending a lot of money moving things very soon.
