hey if you have the HD version on steam, you can download it from the workshop: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=649302724 for the original game, this scenario was included as a «Goody» on the original Age of Empires II - The Conquerors Expansion CD. for more information visit: ageofempires.wikia.com/wiki/The_Saxon_Revolt
Hey bro. I have the original AOE2: The conquerors expansion and in Goodies folder, there is no information about anything about the Saxon Revolt. I think the file has been missing with my game. Can you please tell me where I can find the necessary files to add Saxon Revolt to my game?
I have the original CD and each time I try to move the files to another part of the CD it says "please insert a writable CD" and ejects the disc. Does anyone know what to do?
Hey That’s right. You can’t move the files around on the CD. However, you can copy the scenario files from the CD to your computer. You need the expansion CD “The Conquerors”. Go to the folder GOODIES then subfolder SCENARIO. There is a zip-file called SCENARIO.ZIP. Copy the zip file to your computer and extract it. It contains all necessary game files to play the scenario and a Readme.txt with detailed installation instructions.
Thanks for replying so quickly!I did all that and the readme has these instructions:"Technical features: To run the scenario copy the files to the following destinations: --- Bitmap -> Age of Empires II root folder --- scn file -> folder Age of Empires II / Scenario --- Mp3 files -> folder Age of Empires II / Sound / scenario --- verden.per -> folder Age of Empires II /Ai"I find that these folders are all on the game disc, and that trying to move these into those files yields the "please insert writable cd" problem.Have I misread these instructions?
What you did is good so fare. However, first make sure you have installed the game properly. Then you have to copy the files into the *installation* *folder* . Where the game is installed, not the CD. If you’ve installed the game to the default directory, the path would be: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Age of Empires II\
It worked! It just took me a while to find the folders. I played the campaign but I had to cheat to win because I was soft locked out of the last relic
Nice! Glad that you got it working. Yea, some other people have reported similar problems with the last relic. However, there is nothing I can do about it since I am not the creator…
