I was having this stressful illusion for days about how I decode literature to grains, to study it critically. Because everytime I thought of close reading I imagined scenes where I have to make notes for each and every words and even trunk down lines and phrases from the book to read even deeper. Overally it gave me a sense of how much time I had to put on it because I wanted to read literature that badly so that I can write one, if not literature but at least a novel. A big thanks to your video, it just saved me from another wave of stress-relief pills. I got to learn how exactly a piece of writing is blasted and analyzed to pieces. From literary devices to symbolism and to themes and figurative language, it all helped me to look at it from big picture perspective. Thanks again.

Hey! Just found your channel and this is easily the best annotating video I found in a long long time. Please touch over more topics related to study English Literature, mainly on how to write answers, how to analyse, and more examples with how to annotate novels etc. Would be a life saver! 🙏🏻

It’s helped me so much, can you do a part 2 with more passages and maybe talk about what techniques we can keep in mind while annotating??

Great video! What tool were you using to annotate the text in that video? I looks really clean and professional?

I think any Shakespeare work can be really difficult in certain places in general 🤔 especially long soliloquies...

Very true! It took me a while to decode Hamlet's "to be or not to be" soliloquy for AP Lit this year...

Do you have basic information or simple explanations on how to annotate. Whether it's non-fiction or fiction books?

"ashes grow like wheat"-that's 'conceit' I believe. It's a novel and paradoxical comparison. The clause there is also an example of antithesis.
