ANNOYING NOISE OF BAD SHOCK ABSORBER. 

Thank you!! I think this is my problem! I can’t replicate the noise unless I’m driving down a road with some small bumps and it sounds so similar and it started happening after these darn pot holes in Los Angeles. 😅

I have a similar problem but mines more of a metal knocking about as opposed to the plastic cover shaking. Would it still be a shock problem?

Mine noise is same but my shocks are brand new and even springs what could be the problem

I think in this situation fluid is leaking out also, so associated with the banging noise, it is pretty obvious that the shock has gone bad. There is one car that I worked on last week, there was a banging noise like this from the rear shock, but there is no fluid leak. By visual inspection, it looks pretty normal like any other shock.

That squeaking the car is also making going over bumps is that also the shock absorber? I’ve had that squeak ever since I’ve gotten my car and it’s driving me nuts.

good afternoon, I can find the same sound in the back on the 2023 Sonata, it’s not a month to find the sound but there is no current plastic, so I can use a rubber pot

Mate i have been complaining to the mechanic you changed mine a few months ago. I have had new bushes track rod ends done but that same noise is there. Went back to him today and said i paid you so you better fix it he gave me some cheek but i was stern there was not any issues before he pissed around with it. Car goes in this wkend hoping after spending money to fix it pays off,he aint getting anymore from me.

Hi, my A4 B8 had a minor popping noise from driver undercarriage when taking off in a straight path from stationary to gear 2, 3 and 4. I have replaced all the front control arms bushings for your info. Do you suspect the problem to be caused by shock absorbers or something else?

My problem is that there is a loud, high pitch squeak that is very annoying coming from the driver side rear and I don’t know what it is

it's the plastic housing rattleling you should of replaced when it was starting to seep fluid. Seams like you don't inspect your vehicle every 6 months as most dealerships have a inspection procedure they check fluids,brakes,suspension, overall condition of vehile, you dont drive a vehicle and inspect after noise starts shocks and struts should be replaced every 75k.
