👋 I love the Nissan GTR and it truly is a special car to own and drive. However this is a quirky car with weird noises. The drivetrain is very loud and you hear the transmission shift, the clutch engagement and a whole lot of clunk noises. I also love the modifications I have done with this car making it sound awesome! Full exhaust and intakes make this twin turbo supercar sound amazing! The most annoying this with the GTR is that it's actually noisy. Not in a good way. There is a lot of road noise with the car and it makes for a somewhat annoying ride on the highway. After installing the lowering springs I noticed that the rear seat area is just bare metal with no sound deadening. Also the trunk is completely metal with no sound insulation either. So I got thinking and realized more than half the interior is bare metal which is why its so noisy. So in todays video I cover all the bare metal with sound insulation. These rubber mats are lined with aluminum foil and adhesive and can be molded to the interior metal on the car. Very straight forward install to add sound insulation to your car. But I was shocked with the result! The GTR sounds so much more solid now and is actually a comfortable pleasant drive when cruising. The GTR sounds like a refined car for once! Also I can now hear better tones for the exhaust and it has more bass to the audio. I'm blown away how covering all the bare metal with sound insulating mats solved the annoying issue with the GTR being a noisy car. Well worth this easy DIY project! I used Siless 80ml sheets and they worked great! You can buy thinker mats as well but this seemed to be the average. Soundsield Kilmat and Dynamat will all work the same like this. I spent about $50 total for this project to reduce interior noise in my R35 Nissan GTR and I have a lot left over to do more if I want!
