Dogs (and to a lesser degree, wolves) have higher levels of dopamine. This was reinforced by breeding. Foxes have far less dopamine and that makes them more frantic and neurotic. Great for the wild but more difficult for pets.
"Now, every letter of the alphabet has been accounted for." *over covers the "v"; but there's no letter "s" ... maybe because the original typing test phrase was: The quick brown fox ̶j̶u̶m̶p̶e̶d̶ jumps over the lazy dog. --- (TIL: English-language pangram-a sentence that contains all of the letters of the alphabet. It is commonly used for touch-typing practice, testing typewriters and computer keyboards, displaying examples of fonts, and other applications involving text where the use of all letters in the alphabet is desired.)
I think it's related to how they naturally respond to puppies. I think tolerating that hyperactive rambunctiousness/pseudo-aggression is satisfying to them on that instinctual, evolutionary level, even though it seems like an inconvenience.
+I2obiNtube Yeah. I am thinking this is what my cat thinks about me all the time. I am like Riot and my cat Brini is like Cas. I try to calm down, but then I feel bad when I get to rambunctious for her. But overall we have a good relationship.
Did you think about that yourself or you're just another idiot repeating what everybody says? Cats don't behave like that... What kind of alien cats were you thinking about?
I don't understand this stigma people have with animals, especially dogs? He knows that's not a cat or dog, obviously. They are instinctively aware of each other yet understand they share the same den/house.
Praxographist An assumption means to assume. For you to know something you either need to be that thing or it needs to communicate to you. You have no idea what the animals thinks because it cannot tell you. You can only know the answer if in heat the dog and fox mate. That may answer the question.
I realise that the fox is domesticated (as much as a fox can be) but still, this is outstandingly the healthiest looking fox I've ever seen! In England they're typically not in the best state, sadly.
fabunch4o are you serious, this isn’t abuse, actual snowflake, if it was being abused it would do something to defend itself, but no, it was letting the fox play around and had it gone too far, it would’ve stopped that, plus some animal care organization or animal care individual would’ve taken it down entirely if this was animal abuse
@@yoursonisold8743 Yes they have cat like attributes, but what no on here realizes is how intelligent foxes are, the fox is actually pestering the dog on purpose and putting his arm and paw on his head as a sign of dominance and superiority. Red foxes have to outwit coyotes and wolves and evade them, they can handle a captive dog with ease.
Dogs are capable of moving through the use of their legs, im not sure if you are aware of this evolutionary perk. It could at any time walk away if the discomfort is too much.
I’m pretty sure they have a special bond and that Shepard would fuck you up for messing with his fox. In the animal world that translates to it doesn’t matter that Shepard loves that fox and if he had a problem trust me the fox would know.
Little foxes who annoy big dogs can get an unwelcome surprise when the dog's patience wears out... or when Mom has had enough of it. But big dogs are usually so forbearing it's uncanny. Probably because they know they could really hurt the little one and they don't want to. Cute video.
It's funny how uninterested he acts in this video. Just today actually he (Cas, the GSD) was running through the house and jumping on the bed trying to get Riot to play with him. Riot of course was thrilled but also kind of scared since, after all he did have a large dog running at him lol. Though I could see how the video may be misleading, they're are really great friends.
I think they love each other they see each other as family.....I had a cat once that ruled over my two Pit-bulls but once someone threatens their family its a done deal...you be attacked by 2 pits and a cat-dog...my point is....all creatures play fight and I don't think that dog will hurt the fox on purpose.
Yep they have this instinct where they would not want to play with a little puppy because they know they can hurt them... Even though my dog is an aggressive dog to other big dogs but he knows when he is around little ones even know if they annoy him
Please stop with the old dog comments. Castiel is not even close to being an old dog. He just turned 4. I just had to put my oldest dog of 15 years down not long ago.
+MaximumdoGames That's unusually short. My 15 year old dog was also German shepherd. Granted she was mixed but even with the amount of genetic complications she had she did live a good while. I would say they average at the very least 8or9. Most people I know lose them around 9-13. (13 actually being the most common.)
+HNTR KLLR Actually, Riot's temperament reminds me of my cats in many ways. Riot is just a rambunctious, playful critter and he's obviously NOT afraid of Cas. I'm guessing that he grew up around Cas and just looks at Cas as another fox.
Cats are dumber than dogs. That’s a myth they are smarter. Dogs literally have twice the neurons in the cerebral cortex as cats and for that matter more than any land carnivore.
Jeremy Cremen This particular dog is not the least bit appreciative of the Fox nipping at him as he repeatedly makes clear. The issue in this case is the owner is unwittingly interfering with the natural hierarchy between the two animals. She should let the German Shepard scold the Fox. This is much healthier for them both in the long run than interrupting that natural order.
@horselover yeah I agree that poor German Shepard probably forgot how to defend it self dam owners let that fox bully that dog around .I wanted that Shepard to snap at him and show who's true alpha.
I guess the block feature on the phone is different but she is gone now. That being said I have more than just three years of experience with exotics and I'll post whatever I want to. NOWHERE in my videos does it say "HEY BUY A FOX!" but rather the opposite when someone takes the time to read my FAQ. Can't the internet ever just enjoy things without picking them apart? But in any case I am in the process of making a cool fox educational video if anyone cares.
+Riot The Red Fix you amazing person with a big heart I like your vid it fascinates me well done u actually helping this fantastic vid show that foxes can get along with dogs well-done I'm inspired to help foxes
Cool vid! Sadly there are some very rude, ignorant, miserable people out there. Don't let those people influence your life and choices. Don't debate them just delete and block. Keep making your videos :-)
I watched this and the whole time i thought wow if i had these two my internet and tv time would be cut in half! lol or less! .... wonderful video!... Riot!! How appropriate! lets start a riot! lol .. and to 'some' of the idiots commenting .. ugh grrrr ah grunt grunt ugh...arrr ugh grunt ....I feel anything more intelligent would be a waste of time ;)
*Riot:* "Fite me m8! Ima open you a nice can o' whoop-ass!" *Cass:* "Meh..." *Riot:* "U WOT M8!?" *Cass:* "Meh..." *Riot:* "Oh it's on now m8!" *Cass:* "Meh..."
The fox has a lot of energy and needs space. The good would be a big wooded park for her. God bless you for the courage and initiative to keep two such animals together.
accidentally found your channel, and fount out your Shepard looks nearly as same as my dogs who have died years ago. From the face to the body scale, omg I am about to cry.
@@debbiepeter112 It's not being forced to play genious. It's being forced to live like a dog, not a fox!!!!!! This is sickening. Get another dog, and a life.
The dogs thinking, 'I'm not going to do anything while mom's watching, but as soon as the camera is off and mom's back is turned, your tail is mine fox!'
foxes are livewires there so cute and funny i applaud you because they are full time work worth without a doubt but a serious commitment not to be taken lightly a lot harder than a dog or cat
