New Orleans comes to Biloxi Mississippi to boil the perfect Cajun style shrimp!
To purchase the Boil Boss or the new Boil Boss Paddle, please visit the Boil Boss website here: theboilboss.com/
Boil Boss will be giving one paddle away through a random drawing. Unfortunately RU-vid no longer has private messaging, so that has made it virtually impossible to do a random drawing here, because I have no way to contact the winner, so instead, the random drawing will be on my Smoky Ribs FaceBook page on Saturday evening November 2nd. If you don't use FaceBook then I apologize but it seems to be my only option right now. To enter this drawing go over to my Smoky Ribs Facebook page right now and leave a comment on the post announcing the drawing. A winner will be picked from the comments through a random comment picker on November 2nd. This drawing is only available to the lower 48 States due to shipping restraints. Here is a link to the FaceBook post you need to leave a comment on: bit.ly/33TmUyk
You can purchase the Cajun Party Boats here: cajunpartyboat...
Tee Shirts now available here: teespring.com/...
I have a lot of people that ask where they can get certain things that I use in my videos, so I created a Amazon Store, and have everything I could think of that I've used one way or another in previous videos and listed them within it, so please take a look around and hopefully you will find what your looking for. Also I will update as I need to. Thank You! www.amazon.com...

Really enjoyed this seafood boil demo! Always loved steamed oysters on a saltine with a splash of Tabasco. And a good beer to wash it down! A holiday tradition in my wife's family I always enjoyed, that is 'til the old timers passed away.

We just did 46 lbs of shrimp, and 30 lbs of snow crab clusters for about 30 friends, I have always followed your steps to the boil and absolutely love it. Next time we do this I am going to do the citrus last just like you did today. Great video Russ and thanks for all the tips. We love it up here in Kansas City area!

Russ, another great video! Quick question... How many lemons and oranges did y'all add at the end? I'm thinking 8-10 lemons and 6-8 oranges, is that correct? Would you recommend adding the lemon zest as well as you did in a previous video?

I always juice my lemons before adding the juice and cut half's to the pot in the beginning. You guys talking about adding the citrus at the end has sounds like a great idea for that punch of fresh flavor. I was thinking that I could add the juiced lemon half's at the beginning, because I do think cooked citrus adds something, and then add the juice at the end. Any thoughts?
@SmokyRibsBBQ
@SmokyRibsBBQ 5 лет назад
I normally add it all towards the beginning but after tasting this, I will certainly be adding it at the end. All of it. For even more citrus flavor, zest the lemons and add that zest in during the cool down. I have done that before and it works great! More work, but worth it.
@adamgibbs7738

Question: do y’all de-vein the shrimp or do you just peel and eat? At the one shrimp boil I’ve been to we just peeled and ate them, but other people told me you have to take the vein out before you cook them. They tasted just fine to me.
@SmokyRibsBBQ
@SmokyRibsBBQ 2 года назад
Not on a boil this size. It's simply way to many shrimp to be feasible. I do devein on smaller batches, but it's completely not necessary. Some countries such as Japan never devein period. It's just not practiced like it is here in the US. The vein will not harm you and in all honesty you can't even tell that it's there. I think it's more of a mind thing with people. We boil crawfish also, and they never get deveined unless it's done while removing the shell prior to popping it in your mouth.

Wow is all I can say. I lived out of a hotel in Kenner Louisiana for about 6 months after Hurricane Katrina. I was down there as a contractor to help with the initial rebuilding effort of the low voltage lines ( telephone/ internet/ TV). To make along story short... at that time there really weren’t any restaurants open... but luckily for us, the great people of Louisiana actually invited us to eat dinner at their homes while we were installing the new lines to their houses. My first ever seafood boil was in some guys backyard who I had never met before. This video took me back to that special moment. Sorry to blab but you stirred up that memory. Awesome video Russ.

For boiling I like a medium to large sized shrimp. 31/35 per pound is about right. Enjoy the boil and have fun! Remember, once you throw the shrimp in, turn the burner off, and 15 to 30 seconds later start cooling it down with the boil boss. Once cool, ( below 150°F) let soak for 20 minutes with lid off. This will give you good results and the shrimp will peel easily. Enjoy!

I'm sure you have heard of Shirley Fabrication. But you should really consider looking at their 36in cabinet smoker on their youtube they are the best smokers around.

No thanks! I’m sure they do good work but I’m very happy with all of my LSG pits. All 3 of them

Well Russ, I will most likely never do a shrimp boil or even get close to one but, man, I enjoyed this video to the max! What I loved is the really creative thinking that went into that Boil Boss and the Boil Boss Paddle. That is so great to see. And it's so great that you could be the first to feature that paddle. Very cool and very much fun!
