I watch a guy on here named Mr. Bon he is the guru on this shit. Great video, and I agree with you check your basic stuff take your time then call support. I called support one time told them the problem and said this is what I checked these were my voltages etc. He goes wow! you just answered about 8 of my first questions, however did you check this? I said nope missed it, then the problem was sloved. And he told me, I was the best call of the day if more people took a little more time, it makes it easier on him and get can help more people, instead of spending two hours on the phone with someone.
So much technology on these units and their diagnostics can be really confusing. Luckily I now work at a building that has mainly rooftops. Looking back I always dreaded going to mini split no ac calls, most of them were improper flares
MXZ you say, that's the Residential unit which is what like 1-4zones & 1 set of connecting manifold pipes are larger right, OK unless you're installing heat recovery system you skip that largera fold pipes of the condenser for installation of heat pump mode system with multi. zones don't go over 110% capscity, for heat recovery systems you do not connect to smaller manifold outlet connections but only from larger, that gets piped to branch box than your zones get piped to the branch box, 2 different systems HR maybe a bit more expensive but can do heat/cool simultaneously & save on energy
Rotate fan motor with hand if it's free and rotate easily check resistance between 3 terminals if they are equal fan motor is good its a blown IPM in fan motor board . IPM has 6 inbuilt igbt which generate uvw for fan motor sometimes it blow fuse only when fan motor is connected. But when you try after removing the wires it shows the error over current because ipm takes more dc voltage then normal one. I run pcb boards repair bussiness in india for vrv vrf amd inverter systems ipm failure is a common issue sometime it blows the fuse but not every time board looks clean no burn marks but inside igbt is shorted.
you can set hexidecimal central addresses on LG using subfunction 2 on the stat. will show on your lgmv. wont mean anything unless you write down a list to reference or have a central controller like a ac smart/vm3. pretty handy similar to whats shown here!
Yeah I partly hate lg because I'm not familiar with it as much. But I will say they do some dumb shit! I just love being able to look at an idu and immediately see what address it's physically set to.
You have to wait quite a while after you shut power off. Also be careful of the fan boards because if wind is blowing the fans around they'll charge the caps. Once power is off keep checking terminals P and N on the inverter board. I think they want you to wait til it's 20vdc or less.
Hi MXZ-8C-60NA2 Have a 1501 error code Total 4 zones all 3 zones working fine, only when I turn 4th zone my suction line drops below freezing temperatures, when I turn on heat mode it goes to retard( way to high) supply temperature vs return about 17° It's a new installation ( Pls 🙏 help 🙏 Any advice appreciated NYC .
