Wong in China makes a dollar a week.. so... but did you make one? I ended here because i want to get a spot welder... I am new. But i want one on an extrrnal power source... but i dont know what i am looking for 😊

​@@rinysnoeren6283no, he removed the full bridge rectifier diodes. they reduce ac to dc voltage. therefore the output stays ac.

I haven't welded with this one but I welded with the green one, it worked really well. This one works the same way so I'm sure it's good too.

Arthur, I don’t know if you solved the issue or not. I’m seeing your posting 10 months after you posted. Nonetheless, if you are still struggling to start the device, here are the info. For your first question. 1) If you look at the board on the RIGHT UPPER corner you see 1 alright? Here you solder 110/220 (phase) cable. 2) If you look at the board on the RIGHT LOWER corner you see 2 alright? Here you connect your MOT PRIMARY cable. 3) Next you connect the unconnected MOT cable to neutral . Looks like you have completed the Circuit. Remember.... the TRIAC is ONLY acting as a switch, it has no other function. Imagine that you are switching a light on and off. That’s all the function of TRIAC. ( BTA100-1200B for 100A / BTA100-400B for 40A) Also remember, the low volt supply on the left upper is AC9v~12v NOT DC. If you provide DC volt, the unit will not function. Also remember, you will be handling AC 110/AC220..... if mishandled, DEATH IS IMMINENT. Extreme care and understanding is highly required. Let me know. Cheers. February 18, 2020

You gotta get the thickest wire you can, and do at least 2-3 turns. If you do less, you might not have enough voltage to do the weld

To get a decent welding power and decent spot weld, you need to use AWG 6 (25 square meter) cable. There are enthusiasts who used the biggest diameter Earthing cable (yellow and green or Green and yellow) and obtained decent weld. I’d recommend AWG6. Turns can be 3~4 there is no standards for that. But a 3~4 tight coil will get you around 3/3.5~4 volts @ minimum 200Amps ( more if not) for a decent spot weld. If the current seems to be high, you may retard it by the control potentiometer. Cheers.

I use this controller for 9-10 months without any issues. Now you have also double pulse version- still not tested by me.

no. low voltage needs AC input because the controller uses this signal for zero crossing detection to fire the SCR
