Another Antique Dollhouse! 

This week you swooped up the Barbie clothes, precious kewpie doll and now another doll house. You are like your one-eyed squirrel storing away projects for the winter. The Old Farmers Almanac has nothing on you. Thank you for taking us along.

Reminds me of our house when we first moved in, it was built in 1904! Our wallpaper I thought was from the 60's bot the babies room was definitely older.

Hi Scott, I was so excited when I saw this in the previous video. Then as you gave us a hint, about maybe, I was jumping up and down, and I knew you were going to get it. It is as you said fabulous, I think the house was originally painted green and then someone (maybe the daughter) later wanted white trim. I'm sure you will find out down the road. Dear Scott ; Years ago I found a metal doll house and snapped it up. Upon getting it home I realized it was my childhood dollhouse. The memories flooded back of all the hours spent playing with it and the wonderful times. Each room brought back to life how much I loved it and the feelings of having it to enjoy again. When I realized I had gone home , I burst into tears.

Love this new dollhouse more than the other one because the wallpaper is just beautiful. Maybe the little girl that owned the dollhouse was the one that made the mess painting it. It is just a fabulous find. When I saw it in your shopping video I was hoping that you would buy it. Can't wait to see how you restore it. Thank you so much for sharing. It was so much fun.

Wow! What a treasure! The staircase is spectacular, and finding both exterior doors is nothing short of miraculous. Aren’t you glad that there aren’t old vermin nests in this one like there were in the other dollhouse?! I’d remove the old Christmas lights and replace them with better wiring and some period-appropriate ceiling fixtures … but that’s just me. I like fantasizing that the roof was originally copper clad, and that like the Statue of Liberty, this grand old lady’s roof has oxidized to that lovely old green. I know it’s really just green wood, but I’m really good at playing make believe.

OMG, Shut the Front Door!!! (and you can once you rehang it!) I am in love with this dollhouse! This one, as opposed to the other one that you're restoring, is very much 'up my Victorian street' because of the Second Empire architecture! You posed the question: "Was this actually from the 1880's and 'remolded' in the 1930's?" I think further exploration/excavation is needed before one can answer that question. Oh, and as a counterpoint to the phrase: "Everything but the kitchen sink" That does not apply to you or your truck, because, well... Scott, you're everything and the kitchen sink! I am so happy that you rescued this charming dollhouse! Thank you! 🥰

i was 5 in 1943 when my dad went to the navy and we moved to a 3 story victorian rental -- there was a doll house in the attic they let me play with -- oh the joy -- likely the bad paint job here was done by the little girl -- i once painted a doll high chair red -- and said crying covered in red paint to my grandmother -- "dont ever ask me to paint anything ever again!" -- of course no one had

This house 🏡 is awesome, the wallpaper, the doors and the side that swings open! I hope you discover a label or marking on it so you can verify the date, if not it’s still a unique and wonderful piece 😊

Could this have been a model for a new home?? I love that front door. And that closet door looks to be sealed shut in some spots. Use your screwdriver to loosen it and open it. Nice find. Can’t wait to see what you do with it.

I L💓VE that house. It definitely looks like a replica of the real house that the humans lived in at one time. You warm my ♥️ with the love and compassion you show for vintage and antiques. I love thinking about the history of something you buy, or have. What the person might have been like, as well as other things. After being with a relative earlier today. He thinks old things are haunted 🙄. When people pass away l believe they would prefer going up to Heaven. Then haunting👻 something they once owned .

Love, love the pretty pink floral wallpaper and the front door - priceless. This one seems easier to preserve than the first house - even though they are both wonderful finds. Wondering if this dollhouse/estate sale was in the same neighborhood as the first dollhouse/estate sale?

Scott, that sloppy painting was probably done by a kid who thought they could do some "fixing up". I ruined Mom's Red Riding Hood cookie jar by doing same thing back when I was a kid.

Oh, I love this! Now, if I had found it, I would be all into researching where I bought it, trying to find a family name. Then try to find out what little girl's daddy made it for her. Was it modeled after their own house? It's a sloppy paint job because some mommy gave her toy to her little girl, and the little girl decided the house needed a face lift. The little table you found that's in the other house belongs in this one! What a fun find to bring back to life.

I love that house, especially the old wallpaper.. and the front door… and the roof.. and the staircase. I wonder if the person who made it had a little blueprint that he sent away for? Did you know that there’s a whole RU-vid community that creates dollhouses, or just room vignettes, to look old and decayed and decrepit? They make some pretty amazing things.

This little house has oodles and oodles of charm. Love it! Esp. the the staircase and all the doors. Luckly it landed in your hands. I know you will seriously respect it.

A 30s remodel? It's still a mystery unless you've found clues since making the video. But the shiplap is actually beveled and uniform, which to me means it was factory produced. I can't prove that miniature siding wasn't retailed in the 30s but it would sure surprise me if it were. Whether the dollhouse were made in the 1800 or 1900s I can't speculate on but I do believe there was siding installed in the last half century or so.

You are the perfect person to come along and buy the old doll house. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress.

At 12:40 there are more screws by the back door. I'm not done watching the video yet. Is there another wall that opens? Seems like difficult to access all rooms if only one side opens and there are interior walls dividing rooms.

It has an archway! Love the old wallpaper. My folks bought a 1906 house and the kitchen was remodeled in the 30's or 40's. Kitchen was your green and rest of the house was pink walls, woodwork and carpet. I love you restore not remodel.

Great find Scott! You could try Evaporust to pull the rust stains off of the siding. I've seen videos of old car parts treated with it and it goes from rust covered to clean paint.

How exciting. Barbie and a doll house. I can’t wait to see this reconstruction you’ll do with this doll house. I can’t imagine doing such a cruddy paint job. But you’re just the man to make amends. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The top right corner of the linen closet you were trying to open, I think there’s a little spot where there a clump of paint keeping it from being able to be opened. I’d like to imagine the little girl who played with this and what she might have worn at the time. Also I think the open space at the concrete foundation is where you’d enter into the cellar 😃

How cool is that house Scot. I remember old green shades at my Grandparents home .Well water and a pump.

That is adorable. And they probably used leftover wallpaper from their actual home. That would be neat if it was still on the walls of the house it came from.

My son who you’ve spoken to on your live sales (Halloween and Gemmy Guy 09)collects old Christmas lights. He said they are c6 and are late 30’s cord and the plug is from the 40’s so they were likely added in the 40’s. He guessed it was screwed shut to make it a display only and not be played with by a child. Just a guess.

Such a score! Absolutely adorable. Maybe that cut out by the front door was supposed to be a basement window or something 🤷🏻‍♀️
