No way big news!!, iv managed to fix it!!, iv realigned the motor and stator with the help of some 2 pack apoxy glue and its working like a good un, I'm stunned! Didn't think it would live again, 🤘🤘
I agree my friend, Iv never dropped a power tool of a roof!!, nearly fallen of a roof a Couple of times but that's a different story, cheers for watching and commenting Simon your a star, 🌟, 🤘🤘
Have a Makita XAG03 and it's doing the exact same thing. Bad part is I can honestly say that it's never been dropped (I'm the original owner and have only used it around the house). Pathetic. Tested the switch with a meter and that seems fine (was hoping that was the issue). May try your epoxy idea eventually.
Sorry for the late reply Ryan, cheers for reaching out and sorry your having bother with your grinder my friend it suck’s when you have a problem with an expensive and mostly trusted brand, iv noticed the good and bad and the bloody awful in allot of makita tools in recent years, they need better quality control I recon 🤟🤟
Jon yours was the only one that went on about the switch so I sprayed it with contact cleaning spray didn’t strip the switch down just sprayed everything put it back together Bingo it works spray spray done cheers one of your vids
Dear Jon. Please help. My top of the range, imported Td172D brushless impact driver just stopped today. It’s had a hard life…..but It’s like I’m missing an appendage now. I have an oil impulse to fire screws in but its sooooo sslllllllloooowwwwww by comparison. It worked one minute. Put it down. Picked it up and just dead………. Can you help? I can’t buy any more new tools…my wife checks my eBay! I also wouldn’t want to wait for the delivery from Japan as it took ages and ages before. Kind regards. Rollo. (AKA the Rock Monkey)
Oh hi rollo sorry to hear about your broken impact driver, mmmmm what to do!!!, I don't know much about these brushless impact drivers I'm afraid, if it was a older model I might be able to fix it, I'd gladly look at it if you sent it to me, like I said I don't know if I can do anything with it, or is there a local makita stockist near you that goes repairs?, if it's the motor and control board that's gone I'd say its going to be expensive to fix it, it goes without saying I'd look at it for free, wow a oil impulse driver thats a expensive and rare bit of kit right there, iv never used one or even seen one!, iv got a brushed impact makita impact driver I could lend you if wanted, you let me know what you want to do dude 🤘🤘
@@UKTOOLTALK I got the impulse for a few reasons. 1: working in customers houses. 2:when I’m firing in 100’s of screws on a project I normally wear ear protection. With the impulse I don’t and 3: I can now hear my makita radio play my favourite bluegrass artists without the Dagadagadaga going all day.
@@UKTOOLTALK right ho Jon. I’ve written it down somewhere safe now so you are able to delete your message with address(as it’s on public view). Thanks Jon.
Had a similar problem with an almost new one. Lent it to the brother in law and got it back knackered! Tried everything to fix it with no luck. Flogged it on ebay small adverts (you don't have that in Britain) then bought a new bit better model one and had no problems since. And the bastard brother in law can piss off next time!
Ha ha yes lending tools out can cause issues!!!, everyone at our work has makita tools and they are ah hem!! A bit rough with them and they break, then they come to me to fix!!, iv got another brushless grinder of theres to fix and a multitool!, good job I enjoy fixing them!!!, cheers sir you are a star 🌟
