"Night closes, stars fade, as dawn approaches. Around us, colours change, from a bright
darkness to lightness, a changing hue of night to day.
Dawn envelops us, senses become alert, creating anticipation of what the day will bring.
We look through window, or open door, breathe in, as the day comes to life before us, as
moon replaced by sun. Our day quickens, thoughts and actions faster, as does heartbeat,
but whatever the day brings, inevitably night will encroach upon us once again.
Another dawn awaits, to take us on another journey in life, the cycle of days goes on.
I hope that I’ve managed to capture just a little of this in my music. In fact, I’m often asked
how I compose, and I say that I like to paint with sounds. Using melody, rhythm an harmony, creating a tapestry of colour, shapes, light, shade."

“Another dawn unfurls
slowly like a fern
across a new day.
Vapour trails mingle
with mist and cloud.
Planes dissolve,
reappearing as they
weave across the sky.
Our world slowly
reveals itself
as sun rises,
warming, colouring
the Earth.
Light creeps stealthily
across the carpet,
finding its way
into the corners of a new day.” (Gillian Byrom-Smith)
