You need to find someone that feels the same feelings like you, that can actually relate to the music, someone who can show their emotions just by listening to music. I'll be honest, I don't really show my true emotions to my friends nor family. Im 16, a boy, and live in a ex-yugoslav country. Boys aren't supposed to cry, nor feel sadness. I only actually told how i feel to one person that ended up forgetting i exist. I stopped talking to one my best friend because of that person. Last four days I actually realized how much my best friend cares for me, even though she seems she doesn't. She actually asks how I am, am I alright. Most people only remember me when they need something, and that's ok, i understand, but is it hard to at least say "thanks" ? God i miss her so much. Post rock is not music, it's a whole new feeling.
It's very sad how kids these days are forced to live adult lives. You're 16, yet you have experienced this. I'm so sorry for your society. I hope you'll be good. Don't think too much, you're only 16, do what you want to do, live the way you want.

Jesus this song made me drown in tears, made me feel such a deep nostalgic feeling, it made all this memories come to my mind, so if you're reading this,you have a strong soul who can with everything, and i promise that staying is worth it, you will find yourself as who you truly are, you will form yourself, and you will live and not exist anymore, you are a precious human being who not came for casuality, and this is not the end, this is not everything that life can give you, and not matter what always remember, that if you end with this, you will end the epportunity of actually enjoying life, i don't know what's going on in your life but i do know that everything is going to be okay. I get a strong sense of nostalgia from this. I used to ride my bike across town in the evenings, watching the buildings and listening to Post-Rock. It was a tough time for me. I had to study very much, I was kicked out of my band and I was alone very often. During this time I discovered my love for Post-Rock and decided to start my one man project to contribute to this awesome kind of art. I still love to remember the bitter sweet feeling I had in this time. The music turned into something kind of beautiful.

Matt Elliott is my favorite sad folk musician. I usually hear it when I'm sad, which nowadays tend to be often. Thanks for this beautiful compilation. Being sad is not bad, the problem is when the sadness overwhelms and takes the control of your life.
Been a tough year so far, got a health condition that’s getting worse, then a good friend of mine passed away, then a week later I broke up with my girlfriend of almost 2 years, been a rough one
A Song for Starlit Beaches makes me feel the warmth that I've never felt anywhere before. I just hope it can be a substitute for genuine human connection which I'm utterly deprived of.
Such a good mix, with such sad songs brings me much joy. Just to be able to feel sadness is a blessing in disguise, it means we're alive. Never forget the wonder and awe that is earth and life. Your best mix so far IMO. Great pick by Matt Elliott, that track is also my favorite from the album - and thanks for that second song, it’s great, never heard it before.
I'm suffering with major chronic apathy right now and it makes me not be in the mood for any sort of music genre that I used to love and it absolutely hollows me from the inside out. Post rock is perfect for when I'm feeling that emptiness. I don't know if it's from the emotional labor but this certainly helps. Thank you.
Let's have a nice wholesome place to tell people how we are feeling I'll start: I feel like a constant disappointment to my dad, My mum wanted a girl, I wish I could just fade away and go to this magical place where nothing was wrong and it was great.
3 weeks with no reply or like? I suppose I could accompany you with a story of my own. Every wrong I do feels like I've done it multiple times. I feel like I am damned to the pits to hell. No matter how many good I've done, I feel as if I belong down there. I know my family would understand but I doubt they would be the ones that could fix it. I rarely have any friends but when I do it feels like I'm in a heaven of my own.

I like a lot of Post Rock music, but I have say, I prefer music with vocals..Yeah, I know there's a few Post Rock bands with lead singers, but I'd like to see more. Just sayin'
