Dirty or not, 1 bedbug can come to your home and make it hell.. Those basturds took over my house because of a guest bringing them over. Not that it's even that bad. They are babies, mostly. They just find one area and come back! They are like springtrap, they die and then return for an even worse sequel!!!!!
Having worked in the hotel industry for 12+ years as a general manager, this place absolutely turns my stomach! If my property was in this shape I would fire my entire staff and start anew. Or better still....burn it down and start again. This is disgusting and deplorable! There is no excuse for this filth!

tbh i’ve been 3 times to disney world i stayed at 2 different resorts in the time once at a rlly nice clean resort and twice at a pretty disgusting cheap hotel also me and all my cousins found roaches in the theme parks kinda nasty tbh very fun though would go again lol
at least part of the difference would be, they attempt to "clean" anything lol. unless you're a prioritized Disney whale (made of $) they don't care and put you anywhere, which is less than happy.
Those "piss" stains on the pillows are from years and years of people drooling in their sleep. My old pillows looked like that...right before I *threw them out*.
Not always true. I have long hair and I wash it before bedtime, (from growing up in a cold climate). My pillows look like this after a few years. I replace them often. :)
Tip: NEVER use a blacklight in your kitchen. Every place you EVER spilled milk or flour on will glow like a rave club & you will shriek l like Mr. Monk in a landfill.

I cannot speak for all hotels (chain or not, luxury or not) but I used to work for a well known hotel chain, and the first thing I learned was that most hotels rarely wash the top comforter. I always, no matter where I'm staying, throw the comforter right to the floor. Just because I know this. They wash the sheets because they are white and can be bleached and washed in scalding water. Also, don't EVER drink from the glassware in the room. A common practice is to just rinse them with cold water, no soap, and cover them back up. Of course plastic cups that are wrapped in plastic are fine. The more you know 🌠
I thought that was somehow general knowledge ? haha no one of my family ever worked in any hotels, but whenever we went to one, that had blankets like these hotels (not duvets that were in clean bedding but these sheets),the first thing my mum would do was to throw the nasty topcomforters to the floor. And said to us children: Don't even touch them!! Not long ago I saw something on TV where they filmed houskeeping and the lady cleaned the drinking glass with the glass cleaner she used for the mirror :S
I caught on to that comforter scam quickly as well. I won't stay in hotels that have them. I go for the European sheet wrapped blanket system. But I'd like to suddenly see big hotel chains humiliated for not washing comforters and legal action around the corner. It's been barbaric watching this nonsense
@@AllenMacCannell I've seen a hidden camera used to ck the housecleaning in motels & hotels. This one lady cleaned the toilet, then sink, then the glasses with the same rag!!! I don't eat at fast food places after working for both McDonald's & Burger King. The drinking machines are barely cleaned. McDonald's is far better then Burger King, at least they cook their food right but neighter one change the friy oil enough. If busy esp. Burger King barely cook the burgers. There's a switch on the cooker machine that sets the time to cook the burgers, if busy they flip the switch & the burgers like fly through the machine! I quite because I wouldn't be a part of that. Where I live twice the Buger King place has been sued for food poisoning & one kid & lady nearly died. The place is still in 'busness'. Both places IF ever clean the drinking machines put a cleaning fuild in them but DON'T flush them out, they just rehook the machines & there you go. Any one hungry ?
This is so true! I worked for a hotel chain that I will not name out but the housekeepers were told not to wash the comforter until after the 5th stay in said room/suite from the last time it was washed.
I worked at a 4 star hotel for 2 years so let me tell you some tips. Pillows and blankets are rarely washed. Ask for new ones because those are more likely to be clean. Walls are filthy because housekeepers are kept to a time limit. It would be unrealistic to expect clean walls so just don't touch them. If they provide drinking glasses they were probably wiped with the same rag they wiped the shower with. Coffee pot too. If it's not sealed in plastic never let food or drink touch it. Put your luggage in a bag and leave it in the sun when you get home to kill any bed bugs. Enjoy your stay.
I am a housekeeper and when I clean I take my time. There is one head housekeeper who is trying to enforce a time limit thing and I don't agree with it. I mean, if the room is really bad it should be a concern to get it clean and not pay attention if it takes a little longer to clean it.

I worked housekeeping at a hotel that was not nearly this bad so when I had mostly regular rooms to clean I was one of the fastest and most proficient... but if I had a really shitty looking room I told my management straight up that it’s gonna take me a min and if they understood or didn’t I didn’t care lol But motels like this they just all need to be shut down frfr
Very good advice. My family learned the hard way and dealt with an eventual bedbug problem after a hotel stay. Any absolute nightmare. I learned they don't carry disease but will bite you in threes every few days.
And I agree with you. The RU-vidr that makes these videos said that I'm agreeing with the motel and I said yes because the housekeepers are on a specific time. They can't spend a straight 8 hours cleaning one room when there are numerous people that possibly need other rooms for staying in
My puppy just threw up. Seriously, we were watching this and she jumped off of the couch and puked on the rug. She was fine all day. Way to go guys, you even grossed out a puppy. LOL
There should be two rating systems: overall filth would be the bedbug scale, and stains would be an assortment of, well, stains. The lowest would be snot, followed by piss, shit, jizz, and blood being the worst.
I used to clean hotel rooms, all the white streaks on the walls is from air freshener spray they make the workers spray on the walls to make the room "smell good". Except that bathroom, that was straight up piss lol
Those good reviews looked very fake, they prob paid some company to do that i bet if you check their profile you will notice a massive amount of reviews some the same.
The good news is, if there was a fire. The window would pop out easily. The bad news is that if someone is out on the fire escape. And they want to get in your room. The window will pop out easily

As someone who worked in housekeeping in my teens, blankets and bed spreads are only washed twice a year...Most will blatantly lie to customers about it. You'd have to stay in a 5 star hotel to ensure totally clean bedding
I work in housekeeping now and i can tell you we wash the blankets, sheets, pillowcases..etc after every guest stay. it dosnt have to be a 5 star to be clean.
I checked in at a ghetto hotel once at Myrtle Beach and someone left their shitty underwear in a cabinet!! Literally POOP in their underwear gross!! I walked out
Should always take wallets to the local police station. Especially since you found it in a "crash pad," the police can connect it to any crimes. It is important.
Loving this dirty room series. I hope this becomes big and you can actually enact change in the hospitality industry. There is a Massive need for someone to do this very thing and not just at crummy motels. Hit the big chains at the tourist spots. This could be BIG Dan, don't underestimate this!

I love it! This is hysterical and disgusting all rolled into one awesome Dan Bell video! I have your ZERO HOTEL for you. It's about an hour from Baltimore. The place is called The Riviera Motor Inn;2120 Route 73; Pennsauken NJ. To top off the nasty rooms, the hotel is attached to a Gentleman's Club!!! I promise if you go here, this place will not disappoint! Make sure you ask for a room in the back facing the highway for the full effect,! There have been murders there, suicides, drug raids, prostitution stings, stabbings, shootings, you name it, it has happened there! Oh, don't forget to ask them about the sealed rooms upstairs! I've gotten multiple stories. the most believable is someone who paid for a month rent upfront, declining housekeeping, died of suspicious cause and was left in room to rot for over 3 weeks!! BTW, the little red spots on the sheets are probably remnants of squished bed bugs. I am sorry that you know what a dirty butt hole smells like! LMFAO!
***** unfortunately I have had direct experience with them in a shitty hotel I had to stay in while waiting to find an apartment and as you sleep they bite you and you roll over on them and squish them and they leave blood stains like this. They feed off blood just like ticks so they fill up and make big marks on sheets. It's gross and an experience I would not soon encounter again! 😕
about once a year, ever since these became a series, i come back to this. specifically i'll run through the first season. Will and Rick were the right comedic duo for the show!
"Why do we always find blood in these places?" Answer: Their upkeep ceased several years ago and properly removing stains, repairing things--replacing lightbulbs--that all clearly ended a while back, to the point that every time a maid cleans that room, she probably does the bare minimum of her requirements then goes, and ignores the rest, or may not even have like, a proper vacuum to clean the room or the proper cleaning supplies for the room. The hotel doesn't care, the maids don't care, nobody gave a shit if the place looks terrible. it doesn't surprise me, on your Valentine's day one you did a lover's suite and the drain hadn't been cleaned by a plumber in forever, and the carpets really needed a shampooing(needs to be done at least once a year, in a non-busy season). But you know, hotels not giving a fuck means that they scrape every bit of profit rather than actually clean a room. Rooms don't have to be FANCY, just clean, well repaired, and you know, not covered in hair and trash.

What's funny/gross is that you guys wear gloves and touch nasty/contaminated things and then with the gloves on..........get your phone out and use it, also hold the flash light and when your done I'm sure you handle that same flashlight with bare hands later.....gross

Also, my step sister worked for this big fancy hotel, like super fancy, and the big comforters, the ones that are for decoration not really for use, only get washed once a year unless it needs it. Which I guess that's common for hotels? Idk but this wasn't a cheap hotel, rooms cost hundreds of dollars in this hotel.

I love the older episodes! I still watch them sometimes. I personally don't really enjoy the newer episodes. Here they seem so serious too and having fun. And the newer episodes it just looks like watching a couple of super drunk people. Sober, boring, serious ME just can't get into it... sadly!
next room, look very careful around Smoke Detectors., often, they may have a hidden camera in them, it would be cool to find one,,, that Rick guy is funny,, bring him back sometimes

dahitmann - Throw the comforters to the corner immediately upon arriving and wrap any blankets in those European pocket sheets. If they dont have those, get a refund and go to another hotel

lol every time I see close ups of you guys inspecting with your gloves on I think of Blue Man Group! But joking aside, Dan please be extremely careful when being in an area with bedbugs! it's not funny, they are nefarious hitchhiking little assholes. Believe me. As a rule of thumb, keep your luggage and belongings in the bathtub when traveling and put your dirty clothes in a well sealed plastic bag in the morning and wash them at a local laundromat if time allows and dry very thoroughly on high heat. Also over the counter pesticides are useless, use a simple 91% rubbing alcohol spray to kill them. It doesn't kill eggs but will kill those bastards on contact. Just trying to help you or anyone watching based on personal experience. Great video! Keep it up Dan!
Oh gosh you guys... I work in a hospital and know for a fact bed bugs will come home with you if you even step near an infested room. try getting suits or wear clothes that you can just toss out. they're nasty and extremely hard to get rid of
Dezi Lynn〈3 - I stayed overnight in a very clean hospital once and still threw the pajamas and socks and even the overnight bag away in the morning before I left the place. It was a clean hospital without bug or superbug problems but what the heck.
At first I didn't know how 40 mins of a couple dirty hotel rooms would be entertaining. Then I found out. Is Rick a health/safety/building inspector? I think whoever has the fewest bed bugs in the room buys the rest of the crew dinner and drinks for the night!
You don't want to collect the cash, First of all it could be drug money with Drug Residue on it. And Second, Taking the Money would lead to a pissed off person whom comes to collect the wallet. all he would need is to collect a description of you from the Desk and then suddenly, Your life will be hunted down.
Suboxone has helped me stay off of drugs for 5 years. People who try and get high off suboxone are straight up idiots. It helps with both mental and physical withdrawals. People knocking suboxone probably dont know anyone successful who has been on it. I was homeless and living a shit life before it. It saved my life.

It's remarkable how calm and normal Rick is here, and in later episodes you can see just how far to the edge of insanity he has been pushed from visiting these hell holes. I'm sure the addition of Brennan (and alcohol) as an accomplice/sidekick helped as well.

When I was in my early 20’s I was a housekeeper of a motel. This nastiness just didn’t fly. Our laundry lady went and stripped all the beds so when we got to the rooms all the dirty linen was gone. We changed the bedspreads weekly (although it should have been more) unless they were very obviously dirty. It’s amazing how nasty people could be. The owner of the motel I worked at didn’t really rush us but we had a manager that wanted the rooms clean in 15 minutes. Once the owner heard that he stopped it and said to clean the rooms however long each room took. We had to vacuum, dust, clean toilets, sinks, tubs, change linen daily....each day of the week we were supposed to do one extra thing each day so that the rooms were getting a constant rotation of cleaning. I had 1 complaint in the 2 years I worked there and it was completely my fault. I literally walked away and left 1 room untouched on accident. The beds were stripped but that’s was it. We had 4 rooms that had hot tubs and it was amazing the amount of rubbers we had to fish out. They’d leave the hot tubs full of water with their used rubbers floating in them. It was gross. It was a nasty job but if you’re going to do it, do it right. I wouldn’t do that job again for anything.
