Ok I will give an honest review and background as a 1 year player: - The game is a story focus RPG. It has great arts and a beautiful soundtrack. But both of those are subjective so take that as you will. -It is a classic JRPG so if you are not a fan of classic RPG then this game might not be for you but I think you should still give it a try. -It has a lot of contents. Beside the Main story, there are a bunch of side stories, quests, secrets and mini games for you to do and they always update more contents for you to play. Imo, for the most parts, the stories are great and there are a lot of fans favorites. It takes a lots of inspiration from Chrono Trigger and Cross(duh it is from the 2 main producers of those games) so if you are a fan of those games, you are in for a treat. -The game is very flexible. It has a difficulty setting for all contents( except for the OPTIONAL challenging contents duh). If you only want to experience the story, lower the difficulty. If you want the game to be more challenging, increase the difficulty. Just choose the difficulty setting that you find most suitable( the difficulty can always be changed at anytime so don't worry). -The gameplay is super easy to understand. Just go around and do what you want, and the combat is turn based, just pick your skills and attack. It is super easy to approach for new players but still has its depth and requires research and a good understanding to clear the harder contents. - The game is a SINGLE PLAYER game. That means you can just play at your own pace. All the contents except for the gacha and boosting events have no time limit. This includes the Collabs as well. The collabs from 5 years ago are still available to play to this day. Oh and have I mentioned that there is NO PVP? that is right, you don't have to worry about falling behind other players because there is no PVP and progress is determined by your progress in the story. -One of the small details that I love about this game is that it does not bombard you with Notices, Notifications and Pop ups. They have a notice menu and if you want to read it, you click it. That is it. They won't flash it in your face every time you log in like other games. - The game is fairly generous. You gain a good amount of CS( their currency) as you play the game, and they give out them pretty frequently as well. They give at least 1000( enough for 1 x10 draw) every times they have a new content update. - Now, the gacha. The gacha is kinda bad because there is no Guarantee. But, you DO NOT need gacha to enjoy this game. There are plenty of Free characters that are completely viable and powerful and you can get through 90% of the game( including the challenging optional superbosses) with only Free characters. Also, you can farm a characters to whatever 5* version you want if you have their base form and the farming is not bad at all. I think this is pretty generous compare to most gacha games. - You know other gachas like E7 and Fate include Cards in their gacha pool and you have to build them as well? Gacha in Eden has only characters and you do not need dupe of characters to upgrade them( except for the few newer ones but there is a way to upgrade them without gacha as well). The gacha is never the main focus of the game. This is a story driven game so the gacha is more like a side thing. Even each characters have their own quest line. -There is powercreep but imo, it is not that bad. Obviously, the older contents of the game will be easier if you have newer powerful characters. But for me, the game still provide a good amount of challenge. Owning a powerful characters does not mean you will just win the harder contents. It still requires knowledge about the fight and your characters to overcome the harder contents. - There are no pay walls. All contents are free for everyone. Except for the gacha, the only Exclusive thing is their monthly subscription with the EXP farming weapons which is not that important btw because there are plenty of better ways to boost EXP for free in the game and EXP is not that important to farm later on anyway. Everything else is completely free with 0 pay walls. - The community is extremely friendly. People are always helping out each others and the devs interact with the fans very frequently through livestreams as well. In conclusion, Another Eden is hidden gem among the sea of money hungry gacha games. Do not let the tag GACHA MOBILE GAME fool you.
I played this for about a year, but powercreep is real and the sheer amount of grinding to both upgrade units and get special materials to upgrade the free units just wore me out.
@@cloudstrife8 Well I played Granblue Fantasy for years. And i still have to say that GBF is an awesome game. But almost nothing is as grind-heavy than Granblue Fantasy. It kills you slowly by increasing the grind every time you think you finally reached a point at which you wrongly feel "on top". I think Another Eden is quite alright here, even though we speak about a lot of grind to be done as well.
@@Omnibus4Everyone free units are still pretty good though. As clarte and as gariyu are free and frickin kickass. The new free units from chrono cross also very strong. Aldo at *5 is also strong. They also had a new subscription plan where you can try for free for the firsy month and it gave you a free 10 pulls where you can get 1 out of 7 *5/AS/ES of your choice.
I LOVE this game. I've played RPGs since I was little (Lunar SSSC takes up a LOT of space in my memories) And I've been playing FFXIV for six years, coming from a long history of other FF titles and I'm just saying this so I can tell anyone reading this comment that THIS GAME is a close second to me, as a current favorite. But I do play it on my phone, I didn't know it was (kind of?) ported for PC! If you can play it on a phone, I suppose you should! Without spoiling anything, I'll just say there is SO much to do and experience and find....I love this game so much. Thanks for the well said review! The art is one of the aspects of the game that I love most.
Another problem with the PC port is how broken it is. First time I opened it up, it opened up as expected, but when I exited and went back in, I'm constantly getting error messages, and I have no idea why.
It's mouse-driven? It's mouse-driven. _It's bleedin' mouse-driven…_ I just want controller support. _I just wanna play my traditional RPG with traditional controls!_ I don't think I'm asking too much… It's just so… _clunky…_ with touchscreen / mouse-driven controls…
The artstyle is gorgeous indeed.. but I can’t stand those chibi sprites. Or it is more like those are the exact same sprites I see in all other cash grab rpgs, so seeing them here made me immediately wince.
This game reminds me of my disappointment w/ Fate:Grand Order. Instead of a grand SRPG that'd blow Fate:Extra out of the water we got a competent jpeg capsule machine.
