Same. Loneliness is such a perfect representation of the depression I went through in college. It takes me back in a way, but it's also cathartic.

I agree! I’d say these two and “Land of Snow and Sorrow” fit nicely together in the same group of slower songs. I especially like “Death and the Healing” for it’s very nice melody. :)

The acustic parts Jari plays couple of times really sound like something you'd play on kantele (Finnish trad instrument, harp like). Gives it really folky feel. I love it. He has done the same sound in couple of other songs as well, like Loneliness. I truly recommend that you listen to it next. It's very beautiful. The whole Forest Seasons album is great imo.

Yes, those parts sound so gorgeous! I think they use the same effect at the start of 'Time'. I'll have to look up that instrument. :)

Nice one as per usual! I would recommend to listen through the Forest Seasons album in order - Loneliness is last (winter) 😬 preceeded by Spring, Summer and Autumn, as is only right and proper.

"The Way of the Fire" live @Hollywood [multicam] gotta be next! It's not an official recording and the sound quality is far from perfect, but the song is sooooo incredibly good. If Jari ever releases a studio version its gonna blow everything out of the water

Man you catched Kai's sign of approval. If you want to see more of the slower and calmer side of Wintersun, you should do Loneliness. But be warned, this one is a challenge for reactors, it's too emotional and sad.

It's awesome that we can interpret songs in our own ways, it's all about how we feel the music :) This song was so intense, though in quite a different way compared to the last ones you've reacted to. Got major chills towards the end!!

This album is such a masterpiece. While waiting for Time II (could still take a while....), you can check a similar band, Atavistia, with the song Seas of Stars

Thank you Thomas for another great reaction! It's not a happy song, is it? That Finnish melancholy kicked in? Amorphis has similar effect on me.. it's aggressive, beautiful and sad at the same time. Only classical music and metal can do that to me.

@@ThomFoolery1 If we are the happiest, the others must be totally miserable 😂 You may well have a good point in that we embrace our melancholy instead of trying so hard to be happy.. and actually that makes us happy, because we are honest to ourselves about it. Metal can also be uplifting and happy, so I urge you to try Ensiferum and their song Rum, Women, Victory (official video) That'll help put smile back on your face after the downer from Wintersun 😉

American here and I’m pretty positive there’s no metal band from our country that comes even close to this imo. All my favorite metal groups tend to come from Europe, and mostly Finland.

This song is acually in Drop Bb but they use a pitch-shifter live in order not having to bring two extra guitars since they already use two different guitars, one in D standard and one in Drop C

Wow, so awesome this trilogy... I wonder however, why the studio versions are so polished up and overproduced. I mean these rehearsal versions are stunning but when I listen to them on, for example Spotify, I get really dissapointed somehow, no matter how high I turn up the volume... Anyway, great reaction!
