Your dad's knowledge is invaluable, great to see the older generation passing on skills and wisdom, however, more importantly, is fabulous thar at least one of the younger generation is LISTENING and taking it on board Well done to you Karen, you are amazing team the pair of you I too had a great mentor in my father, miss him every day Geoff
It's heartwarming to see you taking so much pride in keeping the family farm alive. Your dad has to be a happy pappy, knowing and seeing that you are taking care of what he worked hard for. Thanks for sharing your videos 😊
A loader is a great fencing tool. Love your dad’s hack. It’s a great example of MA, or mechanical advantage. The cattle sure seem to be enjoying the great outdoors
Hi Karen, I'm impressed with your fencing skills, your like a well oiled machine 🤣. The old fulcrum trick works every time, your dad is handy to have a round. 💙
Hi Karen another great video that’s a brilliant hack of how to remove an old fence post I’ll remember that and say thanks to your dad for me. Bet you got a post knocker on your wish list. Look forward to your next video
Hi Karen, Fair play to you for getting those stakes driven. By no means an easy job. When you get your loader fitted to the 390, you will be able to push them in with that. In the meantime, I would stand in the back of the gator for height and drive them that way, and if you turn the sledge sideways, you will spread the blow better over the top of the stake. I see where fencing has been added to TAMS 3. It might be something worth looking into.
Not only are you and dang hard worker, but Beautiful to boot! Wish I lived closer I would love to do some of stuff you do. Oh well I will just keep enjoying your video's! Take care, and thank you!!
You've certainly got a good swing on that sledge hammer, you work your socks off. Sounds like you will be having rabbit pie for tea LOL. You cant best a good bit of leverage, what a team you and your dad make. Thanks for another lovely video, hope the weather holds out for you. Cheers, Poth.
Karen, I will be off the radar for a while. I am going into hospital next week for open heart surgery. I will be looking forward to catching up on your videos soon hopefully. Hope the grass crops well so you get a good stock of silage bales in. Best Wishes, Poth.
Karen like you I have destroyed many post tops over the years with the sledgehammer. Picked myself up a post rammer / driver in a local hardware to drive some posts around the house and it was a a game changer...no more damaged posts. Available in various weights /sizes from different suppliers so it may be worth seeking out one. Keep up the great work, really enjoy the vids.
Dear Karen in glad you are doing well and your dad to .that grass is looking good and the cattle look great thanks to you I hope you have a great weekend .
I admire you for all the hard work you do, to make what needs to happen get accomplished,. Swinging that sledge hammer is hard work... Proud of you for taking an interest in the farm and working so hard to make things happen that need to be done!!!!!
Hi Karen thanks for sharing another awesome video, great job on all the fencing repairs you are quite a dab hand with that sledgehammer. You see 👀 dad's do know best sometimes 😅, thanks again take care and be safe 👍 😊.
To think that people pay at the gym to work up a sweat and we only need to do a day's fencing😂 Great job Karen. I'd say those stakes will be around for a good spell👍
Doing a great job but hopefully your filling in the holes when taking oot them Posts as you can end up with a coo or calf with a broken foot sheep are worse
Carry a box or something to stand up on to give yourself more height it will make your life a lot easier and save the back abit, your doing a great job fair play 👍
some one told me once calving within 2 weeks before the due dat you had a heifr calff and late calvers usually have bull calves. Really enjoy watching your videos and i also learn a few tricks for my self. Thanks
Have a go with a post thumper, not very expensive but really helps getting posts in over and over without too much damage, order one that is the right size for the posts used most often, that way they go in straight 👌
You would find driving posts easier if you had a proper fencing mallet as what you are using is a sledge hammer designed for smashing bricks and rubble.
Fair play to ya ur not afraid to swing the sledge 💪🏼tell ya what i do is i stand in the linkbox up a foot or so of the ground and ya get more power down on the post 👍🏻 COME ON MONAGHAN
Great video and great job on the fencing! God those rabbits really did clip the grass down! I see you've plenty of buttercups too like myself after the wet winter 🫤🫤
Sorry I messed your video yesterday, had to rebuild the disc harrow broke 6 disc’s and lost 2 bearings ,now I got my work just in time for dinner then back to the field in the morning great video btw !
Hallo Karen another great video driving posts with a sleadge is hard work did you ever use a smal post pounder the are a great job and the dont damage the top of the post
Hi if you hired a petrol Auger with 5” bit it will make your life a lot easier you will bore all the holes you need in a few hours we done it here we even put holes beside older stakes that will need replacing in the future
U cud back the gator up near the stake and stand in the back of the gator so u will be up over your work and it will be easier to drive the stake into the ground
Karen I hammer in my own posts too. I use a 3x1 foot folding leg builders step up work bench. When you stand up higher it is easier and gives a longer stroke of the sledge or post mell. Aluminium work platforms are light to care
Another great video Karen, thats a handy hack getting the broken stale out,the high tensile wire is tough to use on your own,i sometimes use tying wire, its used to tie steel together, its a lot lighter and easier to use,it might do the job for you ,you can get it in any co op or building providers
Love watching your channel …..????for you on your pastures in the early fall can you top your pastures then aureate(poke holes in ground with machine)then spread seed on ground…..over seed is this possible in your area
how you doing karen . jack of all trades as always. good on you girl. hopefully the weather is better. about time lol. dont it look nice when the animals are out. hope you get back a loader to help you . keep smiling and happy . go karen . the green and gold kerry karen. enjoy.
Use clipex posts with its own post driver. There galvanised with there own insulator. No crowbar, no sweat, same price as the one's ur using. When reseading don't forget lime. Its critical
What are the downsides. They last 30 years+ u can put them up in seconds, not effected by stones. The posts ur using won't last 10 years No need for high tensile wire, u can get plyable wire, it carries the same currant
@@anthonymccluskey3822 if the wire slips off it's touching metal which kills the whole current. That's the biggest downside. Trust me there's plenty of stakes that have lasted longer than 10 years here 😅
Impressive video! :) Does your husband know about your upper strength? I have been in construction my whole adult life and I don't think I have ever swung a sledgehammer over my head, like you did. lol Maybe that is where you get your figure from? You are already very pretty but... man... you could be a model too! When should we meet? ;D
