Another great day at the Severn Valley Railway, spring steam gala. Action clips from along the line. please see separate video of a couple of hours at Highley. • BUSY times at Highley!... 20th April 2024
You’ll discover that time is relative with age. I traveled behind these locomotives as a child and teenager. However, most engines and carriages were filthy in the last days of steam. Thanks again.
Fantastic video on the seven valley spring gala event my favorite engines featured on this were Taw Valley, Fenchurch and Blue Peter the last time my dad and I saw Taw Valley at the valley was back 2022 when she in her purple livery for the late Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee celebrations thanks for sharing this 👍💙🚂
I think my favourite of the visitors was 1369. I remember travelling behind her when I was younger and we went on holiday to Devon for a week and went on the South Devon Railway twice in that time. So she provided a nice nostalgia trip. And she's so little (is it weird to call a steam engine adorable?), I forgot how small she actually is! It's like the GWR took a dock tank from say, an ex-LSWR design and stuck some pannier tanks on it. Fenchurch was a very characterful (also miniscule) loco as well, which I guess is to be expected, and 29 was a good loco too, but I wasn't expecting her whistle to sound like how it did! It would've been nice to see Blue Peter running, but she was impressive regardless. I went on both the Saturday and the Sunday, the latter specifically so I could do the Bewdley-Bridgnorth non-stop run behind Erlestoke Manor and the double headed pannier run later in the day. All in all, a great weekend!
