Great that you had a girl working with you I always wanted one to teach at the dealership I knew I could make her a good dealer tech no heavy work but light and drive ability never had the chance I had a few at the collage where I taught wave form class but never in the dealership ❤jerry
I always grind that lug off, it's there in theory to stop the piston turning when applying the parking brake but in reality they never turn and without it you can get adjustment bang on. You are the first guy I've seen who agrees it's surplus to requirements most will preach about how it's there for a reason.
If it was an apprentice, shame on the journeyman for not , 1) teaching him , 2) checking his work . The very first time I encountered this I was able to figure out screwing the piston in but knew nothing about the aligning pin . I couldn’t get the calipers on so I ground that pin off! I don’t think the ink had dried on my mechanic license. So that would have been 1982. The car was a Cadillac, I was working at a Fina gas station
Doing brakes isn't as easy as the old days. Gotta have a scanner to bleed them. Those electronic brakes are stupid. Extra sensors everywhere. Horrible aftermarket stuff. Don't trust a fool to work on something as important as your brakes. And real mechanics never wear gloves.😅😅😅
