Please, please, please Tim Blanks and Bec Evans do the 'next time' he speaks of! Thanks for this. I love every exquisite moment of listening to him speak, sing, sigh, smile. He's a marvel.
Saw Bryan Ferry during his Mamouna tour, Cardiff, UK, way back in 1995, February 12th, to be precise. Still remains to this day one of the finest rock performances I have ever seen. Faultless. Bryan is a musical genius and one hell of a writer. Incidentally, does anyone know what book the interviewer is holding at the beginning of the interview?❤
SJ - I would be amazed if Bryan Ferry wasn't a Conservative. He has spent his entire life denying his working class roots (his father was a miner in Durham - it doesn't get more working class than that). He married into the aristocracy and sent his sons to top public schools. Despite that expensive education, the odious Otis Ferry has achieved nothing of note, making headlines for terrorising wildlife, as a rabid fox hunter. Bryan Ferry once famously said the Nazis 'had a lot of style'. When an outcry inevitably followed he backtracked and said he merely meant the uniforms but his politics suggest otherwise. A very talented musician there's no doubt but this idol is a disappointing human being off camera. I think that comes across loud and clear in interviews like this one, there is considerably less to him than meets the eye. Despite being a world famous pop and style icon, he looks decidedly uncomfortable in his skin.
He doesn't seem to be denying his family background very much in this recent video interview, I think it just puzzles some in the "art" community that someone can be "Conservative" which begs the question, since they are usually self labeled "liberals" .. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x2BW04Ejg0I.html&ab_channel=Skavlan
@@glamdolly30 He’s never once denied his roots and he’s allowed to be shy and reserved. There’s a lot MORE to him than meets the eye would be a more accurate description given his body of work.
