I think the thing with Tina is that she expected Sydney to just be a snobby know-it-all and look down her nose at her over everything, so she was really taken aback to receive praise instead of criticism, even if it was relatively minor in and of itself.
I think petes comment waa actually very helpful in that moment. The old guys were giving carmy shit for working in a restaurant and pete was pointing out his history of working in an incredibly prestisge and high level restaurant and wasnt just some line cook up the block.
Also worth noting... the restaurant Carmy worked at in NYC, Eleven Madison Park, is a very real 3 Michelin star restaurant that was in fact named the best restaurant in the world in 2017. It also costs as much as you might guess the best restaurant in the world would cost - $365 per person for the full tasting menu, and that doesn't include alcohol (wine paring adds another $195-365 to the tab). Dinner for two there is typically gonna set you back well over $1,000.
My anxiety during the Xanax scene lmaoo. And you guys are right about the pete thing. It's because he's a well adjusted normal person with little to no baggage. To people full of so much Trauma, it just rubs them the wrong way. Also Tina's really sweet isn't she. Haha. Knew she'd crack easily.
Just to clarify some things that's been stated in the show so far but I think was just missed due to a discussion (or it was only mentioned very briefly): - The car accident was only in a dream Cicero had he was telling Carmy about (Sam was saying "is that how he died? with that car accident? he's like he never landed", how can you die from a car crash where you go flying and never land ;P) - Carmy's dad/Cicero's brother is no longer alive, Carmy mentioned how he never really knew him as he wasn't old enough. Cicero mentioned how the picture was from 1992, he misses Carmy's dad sometimes and last spoke to him 20 years ago, also tells Carmy about that dream with his dad. - Carmy and Sugar's mom is still alive, in episode 1 Sugar mentions how Carmy should go see her. Think it's just presumed Michael took over the day-to-day of running the restaurant and became its owner. - Cicero is also very heavily implied (especially in the last few episodes) to be somewhat associated with the Chicago Mob, and yea Pete's only crime is being a lovable goofy doofus that does make the vibes a bit awkward at times, we all know someone like that but tough Italians from Chicago like Sam mentioned would probably dislike that than most people.
i dont think they were bothers....they were more like best friends. Jimmy is Polish Carmys family is Italian the whole "cousin" or "uncle" thing is pretty stretched if you grew up with them as "family"...even Eva calls Frank "uncle Frank"
Pete lacks social skills, emotional intelligence and boundaries. Just because he acts nice and friendly that doesn’t make him a better person and it doesn’t mean people should wanna hang out with him, you want people you can vibe with. And how many creeps and killers have been labeled as being so nice and friendly like Pete ? Lol. And it’s funny I grew up in an era with alot of Italian Americans and lovable goofy dofufus is exactly how I would describe a lot of them 😂
I love to see you guys being such big Marcus fans too, he is so damn wholesome! Such a great character, must be the best roommate ever. It's very contagious when someone is always trying to be nice and genuine.
My interpretation of the last shot with Tina is her thinking about how much of jerk and bratty she has been with Sidney, and she wants to be better going forward. At least that how I read the scene.
Pete to this family, is what a morning person is to a non-morning person. For the life of them, they just can't grasp how anyone can be so happy go lucky like Pete. They just don't vibe. Someone doesn't have to be an asshole to be disliked.

I love Tina as a character cause I relate with having used to be that type of person who would confuse receiving help & compliments from others for being patronizing or feeling beneath them, she's kinda the best imho

Great reactions. Fun! I don't think it's ever been cleared up whether the dad is still alive or not. The producers might be leaving it open-ended in case they ever want to bring him in as a character. But since they've already shot the 4th and final season, probably not.
Sugar's husband, I'll refuse to remember his name, is a well mannered, nice and positive guy who probably came from a well adjusted family. Screw that guy!!!
Everyone in the family gives Pete shit because he's a very nice and normal person, totally opposite of Carmy, Richie, and the rest of the people in that circle.
Lol nah I say carm is a better person than Pete. Just because he’s not needy and understands personal boundaries better, has better social skills doesn’t mean he’s less nice or less good of a person than Pete is. But to be technical there is a between nice and kind, and especially nice and good. Acting nice doesn’t necessarily mean you are a good man.
There is nothing with Pete. He is just a nerdy sweetheart who the family likes giving shit. Next to Marcus, Pete is probably the most genuinely nicest person in the who show.
